At first I was a bit jealous that Wenger passed up Ballotelli and Pool scooped him up.

But based on his performances so far, I'd guess he'll be back in Italy by end of the season

Real Madrid....Casillas, Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Kroos, Modric, Isco, Rodriguez, Ronaldo, Benzema

Barcelona....Bravo, Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Mathieu, Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta, Neymar, Suarez, Messi
Looking at those teams, I'm fairly certain neither of them will be winning the champions league. Chelsea, Bayern and maybe even PSG could beat them.

Mind you, Real won that without Bale and Ramos, who are two huge players for them.

While I agree that Chelsea, Bayern, and PSG are very strong teams, I think that Real Madrid and Barcelona can easily match them with full fitness. Where the difference comes in, is that Real Madrid, Bayern, and debately Chelsea are the only teams with a bench with enough quality to still compete through injuries.

It's the worrying lack of CDM's that holds these teams back IMO.

Modric and Kroos are both Deep Lying Playmakers, they don't do much real defending and if they do, they are quite sloppy. Matic and Alonso would really provide a difference to their respective teams. Real Madrid also have a worse back 4 then both Chelsea and Bayern in my opinion.

Burnley 1-3 Everton and Spurs 1-2 Newcastle.....Man United-Chelsea next *Gulp!* :scared::scared::scared:

0-0 at half time, Van Persie and Drogba with the best chances in the first half, Chelsea should've had a penalty, good half by United though..

Red card to Ivanovic, freekick to United, Di Maria svings it in, and van Persie smashes it in!!!! :D

Ends 1-1 at Old Trafford...

Mourinho hasn't changed one bit... Score a goal, then park the bus for the rest of the match. Pfft...

We deserve that! played well, didn't get hammered like some people said, a good performance overall...

Fellaini with the assist and don't forget he scored on Monday....WHATS HAPPENING?!?!?!?!

Ha ha people were calling for Felainis and RVPs head until today what's happening :P I stood by them and as players both will improve.

Missed the game but glad to see we are coming back to our old self by scoring goals in the last minutes :). And Chelsea dropped points today.

If Fellaini can do a job on Fabregas and keep him quiet then he can do the same to Toure or Silva on Sunday..

Interesting news that Mike Ashley has taken control at Rangers after his £2mill emergency loan was accepted and Chief exec Graham Wallace resigned...god help Rangers if he is in charge!

Sad news that Orlando Pirates goalkeeper and captain and South Africa international Senzo Meyiwa was shot and killed during an armed robbery..

League Cup football this week with Shrewsbury v Chelsea being the Sky game, other games tonight are Bournemouth v West Brom, Fulham v Derby, Liverpool v Swansea, and MK Dons v Sheff United, TV game tomorrow is Man City v Newcastle with the draw straight after the game

The shortlist for this years Balon D'or award was announced this morning, here is the 23 man list, Gareth Bale, Karem Benzema, Diego Costa, Thibaut Courtois, Angel Di Maria, Mario Gotze, Eden Hazard, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andres Iniesta, Toni Kroos, Philip Lahm, Javier Mascherano, Lionel Messi, Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer, Neymar, Paul Pogba, Sergio Ramos, Arjen Robben, James Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bastian Schweinstiger, Yaya Toure

No Modric or Suarez....

The 10 candidates for Coach of the year were named too, Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klinsmann, Joachim Loew, Jose Mourinho, Manuel Pellegrini, Alejandro Sabella, Diego Simone, Louis Van Gaal

What....No Moyes?!?!?

Ronaldo will win the Balon D'or and Joachim Loew will win the Coach of the year. No contest for me. Ronaldo has consistently performed at a higher level than everyone else in the whole of 2014 and Joachim Loew led Germany to World Cup glory.

To me, Balon D'or should go to Ronaldo, Kroos, or Lahm. If it was me, I'd be giving it to Kroos. But, it will probably go to Ronaldo again. As for Coach of the year? Simeone, although Ancelotti may get it for leading Real Madrid to La Decima.

If I may ask, why Kroos?

Even if you factor in cup and continental games, Mario Balotelli still has more haircuts than goals.

Ha! Man City 2-0 down at home to Newcastle, less than 15 mins to go, the holders are going out of the cup!

And Man City are out, draw for the Quarter finals up next

City could, and should have had 2 red cards aswell. Of course if the 1st is given we might have gotten another outcome later...

Well played by Newcastle, they really deserved it.

City not in good form at all heading in to the Derby, not sure whether that's a good thing or not for United...

Capital One Cup Quarter Final Draw

Derby County v Chelsea
Tottenham v Newcastle
Bournemouth v Liverpool
Sheffield United v Southampton

Pretty interesting draw..
