Brands Hatch Indy (Round 2) Results:

Round2_zpse72a29bb.png

Fastest Lap: Sam Tordoff (0:48.975)
Lap Leaders: Andrew Jordan

Clios came alive in the last few laps. They look so ungainly though :ill:

I would love to see the BTCC support a UK round of the V8s. Only problem is where would a V8 Supercar get around a lap satisfactorily.

Anyone have any opinions. ?

BTCC is way bigger than any other national series. It's a world class event. Would you run WEC and F1 together?

In other news, Marc Hynes excluded and given 4 penalty points.

Personally, I think the V8s would be moderately successful in the UK. To be honest, I think it would be more successful than these wasted ventures to USA or The middle east.

Also - As i'm not a regular watcher of BTCC due to my location etc. What has changed regarding the track limits. ?

No UK track would really be suited to V8's, apart from Silverstone.

MSA (british governing body) made it an offense put two wheels over white lines / kerbing I believe.

This can be summed up as "ruining it".

Disagree, some places it needed it. But Brands and Graham Hill especially need some tidying.

By the way, the Porsches are an eargasm, even if it just 12 of them.

So for an example, last year at paddock hill bend. The cars could use the green run-off with they're left wheels. ?
And this year they cant. ?

The Clio's were alright, shame there isn't more of them, the design however seems a bit half hearted. The front is a loose copy of the Corsa VXR, and the back reminds me of the Mitsubishi Colt....

Ugly square Colt back. More area to hit though....

The rule in itself has no point. They could have just enforced a no four wheels off the track rule, rather than create a new rule which we don't actually need.

Too high, they looked like tarted up road cars. The design is fairly crap too (road car is nice but the Cup car should be so much more purposeful looking).

It's a shame, because last years shape Clio's were actually fairly nice, I ended up liking the look of them, and actually made a point of playing with one first on GT6 as soon as the chance arose

The stewards office must've bought a new pencil:

  • Aron Smith's 5 place grid penalty has been re-applied for race 3
  • Aron Smith, Warren Scott and Jack Goff have time penalties for overtaking Mat Jackson under safety car conditions which will affect the grid
Seems harsh on Scott and Goff who overtook because Smith and Jackson were going at 10mph

Time for Race 3, I better get the table made ready for the Race 3 results!
May be delayed as I've got STCC at 7pm and getting something to eat at 6. :P
