It's marketing - he's having a joke - get over it.

The reason why everyone's like "COOL! WE HAVE A WAGON IN BTCC! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D" is because the last time there was one (the 850 Estate in 1994) made some great racing!

It's probably a Jason Plato joke after his interview after race 1, he does look up to him afterall... :sly:

This new season of BTCC looks like a fun and action packed one. Need to get tickets for Thurxton (my local track) and possibly Silverstone. I will say that this is more fun to watch than F1 right now.

Personally, I think the V8s would be moderately successful in the UK. To be honest, I think it would be more successful than these wasted ventures to USA or The middle east.

Also - As i'm not a regular watcher of BTCC due to my location etc. What has changed regarding the track limits. ?
V8s are banned from racing in Europe, it's part if the fia clause so they can call the series international.

No UK track would really be suited to V8's, apart from Silverstone.

Apart from Brands Hatch GP, Donington Park, Oulton Park and Thuxton you mean?

MSA (british governing body) made it an offense put two wheels over white lines / kerbing I believe.

This can be summed up as "ruining it".

This rule is necessary due to the existence of run off tarmac. The drivers are supposed to drive ON THE TRACK. Get used to, because will be happening everywhere else as well sooner rather than later.

I could see no reason for V8 Supercars visiting those tracks.

The only issue in the past was 4 wheels off the track. 2 wheels off is something no spectators, drivers or officials have had a problem with. However, in order to further enforce the rule, they decided to tighten it up far too much, therefore ruining it. Everything'd be fine if they just decided to bother enforcing the original rule in the first place.

I'm pointing out that there are.

You are still totally wrong. The track is the tarmac between the white painted lines. This rule is because of run off tarmac. Get used to it.

In that I meant that those tracks are not high profile enough on an international level, if V8's were ever allowed to run outside Australia.

Then why the hell do kerbs exist? Nobody has ever had an issue with it, it's about people exploiting it and pushing beyond.

You can change your mind about what you said as much as you like mate.

These are YOUR words. That was what I replied to.

Then why the hell do kerbs exist?

Kerbs are there for safety, and drivers being drivers will exploit them.

You can be as stubborn as you want and quote the same thing as many times as you like, but it doesn't change what I meant.

Erm they do? They run in New Zealand, North America, Tasmania, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain.

It's just Europe they are banned from.

And not popular on an International level  ok then. Back under the troll bridge.

Again, me being lazy... I was referring to the Europe thing you were talking about above.

And yes, when has the likes of Thruxton ever been popular on an international level?
