Many didn't believe in Argentina.
Many thought we didn't deserve the final.
Many predicted a Netherlands' victory.

Many were wrong.

Thank you Argentina.

It's not like Vlaar hadn't been superb up to then, though.

I mean, how can he be so **** for Villa?
He's Villa's best player....

Anyway, for the last 2 years I've predicted Germany for this, so I hope they win. Although I'd like to see Messi win it as well to take his place amongst the greatest players ever.

As if he isn't already one of the greatest players ever?

Can't believe the Dutch have thrown it away again!

There's only three teams I'd less rather see win a World Cup final than Argentina and Germany. Spain, Portugal and England.

Some critics believe he needs to win the World Cup to be considered the best ever.
I agree he isn't the best ever, that would probably be Pele for me but he's definitely in the all time XI.

Pele, regarded by many as the greatest footballer who ever lived, rated George Best as the best player ever and he never got as far as even playing in a World Cup...

A message from the german football teams facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?....159294524148205.40362.119410741469917&type=1

Translated it reads:

"Dear Brazilians. First we would like to thanks for the affection we are being greeted by everyone in every moment of our stay in Brazil. After 2006 we know how painful it is to lose a semi-final at home. We wish all the best and the best for the future for you."

Respect to Germany, sporting even in victory.

But it's not like they lost 7-1

I think it was easier for the Germans to get over it than to the Brazilians... If they ever do :indiff:

And by the look of things, they will never get over it...

Well, that was a bit unexpected.

Well played Argentina, you surpassed my expectations despite your performance.

I would say that Germany won the WC, that said, this is Brazil 2014, anything can happen.

I really wanted a Germany Holland final. Then for Holland to win it.

What's the biggest margin in a world cup final? :nervous:

That sure will be a very interesting game! Luckily we have a lot of support in Brasil, from our own, but also a lot of brasilians are rooting for us!
But I'm 100% certain, that that game is not going to turn out 7-1, not even 3-1. I think, this is going to be a very close game :)

Argentina has a chance if the stars that compose it's offense emerge from their slumber and create attack situations. If they do not, they are hopeless, the Germans will crush them...
Unlike the Brazilians the Argentinians have a good defence, so what might happen is Germany attacking and Argentina scoring on a quick counter.

That's the great thing about football ainnit; anything can happen :)

I think the same; this one will be much much closer.

If Argentina win the final in the same manner in which they have reached the final, they will surely be the least deserving World Cup winners in history. Apart from the occasional flash of brilliance from Lionel Messi, they have been woefully uninspiring and dull. I never thought I would say this, but I really hope Germany tear them a new one in the final.

(...) teams I'd less rather see win a World Cup final than Argentina and Germany. (...) Portugal.
Ah, to be loved...!

Prediction for Sunday: GER 2 - 1 ARG
Prediction for Saturday: NED X - 0 BRA

With X > 0.
