Boy was that a dull game last night, it was all about the defending and not the attacking, the final looks fantastic!

Brazilian fans have responded to the humiliating defeat by setting 20 buses on fire in Sao Paolo...

Also, in the 2009 Under-21 European Championship final, Germany thrashed England 4-0, 6 of the German 11 that started that game are at the World Cup this year...Howedes, Hummels, Khedira, Kroos, Ozil and Neuer, Just one England player from the 11 that started was at the World Cup and that was Milner, it would've been two with Walcott but still that pretty poor from England's point of view...

I dont think the defeat being humiliating has anything to do with it.

It surely did not.

People think that Brazilians are super depressed and will never get over that, maybe this applies to the players an the ones involved, but not the nation, simply because the majority of the people here don't have time to worry about such thing.

It did hurt, but a couple of hours later, people was having fun of the situation. The quantity of memes and jokes made by Brazilians about the lost is immense, and quite funny. The main target is Fred, poor guy.

And if you ask any smart Brazilian what he thinks, he would say: " Well done Germany!"
Because we needed that, our professional football is being ruined by our Confederation(CBF), that is full of corrupts assh**.

The only way to change these things(i hope) is with a big slap on the face, which just happened. Way better than losing for Mexico on penalties.

Living in Rio, taking my bike and having some ride in Copacabana or Ipanema, is watching the tourists having so much fun, playing football on the beach enjoying a hot sun, getting drunk, watching the beautiful girls....you can see how they are having a great time here, that is the biggest win i can get.

My heart is with Argentina now, and i really hope they win it, i imagine the Brazilians will support them, but i can be wrong. If they win, it would be a great party here. and maybe i can score some goals on some argentine babes!!

We know how to win a match, but we sure know how to loose one. And at the end of the day, we still have 5 stars on our chest.

Well, at least it sure was exciting to watch inexperienced players play disappointingly.

Could one of our Portuguese-speaking members be kind enough to translate this into English for me? :)

Interviewer: [says something]
David Luiz: I just wanted to give joy to our people, among other things. Unfourtunately we haven't been able to. I apolozige to everyone, apologize to every brazilian, I just want to see my people smile. Everybody knew how important was this for me. Seeing all of Brazil happy because of the football. They were better, they prepared themselves better, they played better. We suffered 4 goals in 6 minutes. It's a very sad day, but of learning as well. In life...
Interviewer: On those 10 minutes where you suffered the 5 goals, have you talked, could you find any explanation, why Brazil got distracted (not the correct word but it will have to do) so much
David Luiz: I think we got lost a bit there and suddenly they realized that we were like that and they made the goals. Explain this now is very difficult. It's a dream that comes to an end. It's not the way we wanted. In my life I learnt to be humble at all times and I won't run away from anything and I'll assume everything and never give up. One day I'll give a joy to this people anyhow

Is it just me, or does David Luiz sound a bit like Frasier Crane when he talks?

England: exciting, inexperienced, disappointing

Can anybody spot the odd one out?

None of them. I know us English are pessimistic and hate the national team for whatever reason, if fans can't see anything there to be excited about then you should think about quitting international football or supporting another country.

I heard of Germany supporting British people. And that`s quite a statement.

Been hearing that both managers will field weakened teams tonight which comes as no surprise to me because the game means nothing!

I think very few of my fellow country peoples actually give a rats ass about the game tonight.
I for one could not care any less. I won't be watching it.

3rd place my ass.

"Experts have compiled a database which reveals the words most frequently used to describe countries at the World Cup." Some examples below.

USA: determined, heroic, courageous
Uruguay: bite, disgrace, do-or-die

And those 'Mericans people didn't care single bit but Tim Howard.

Also lol at Suarez constitutes the Uruguay team as a whole. I sense a bias here. USA USA USA!!!

(though tbh, USA is a dark horse. Apreciate it)

Kinda want to avoid watching that match as well.

For one, I would hate to see Brazil loosing again, which is a huge possibility considering that Netherlands will be better motivated.

Brazil 2014 kinda break down towards the end.

Hey, I thought USA would make the quarterfinals too, you're not the only one :)

My favourite is Italy: "Slow, vulnerable, pessimism"
