I'm supporting the teams with less chances to win (IMO). But in USA-Belgium I'm won't do the same. :)

This was also a great moment.

Oh well, the "Countries Liquid Has An Association With" has lost its first participant, but is still alive and well.

Greece
Netherlands
Germany

Of the 6 countries I've visited, the Vatican never took part, Luxembourg failed to qualify, Italy has been eliminated, but France, Belgium and Germany remain!

OK, let's see, Scotland and Wales didn't qualify. Spain and Portugal are out and USA, France and Belgium are all still in. That's how the countries I've visited are fairing.

And @Ross

It's not just places I've been to, it's a bit more tangible than that.

Speak German and have lived in Germany.
Have lived in Greece.
Speak Dutch.

Just FYI. :)

Just read that eight people died during celebrations of Colombia's last victory.

And apparently, nine more died (in celebrations as well) when they beat Greece!

Seriously...

I knew, I've never lived outside England so the closest association I have with other countries is either half-speaking the language or having visited them, or dating someone from them (Denmark).

I'll count places I fell in love with, when I visited them, despite speaking/living in the said country and the ones I have connections

Sweden failed to qualify. Spain and England are out. Brazil and Netherlands are still in.

Sorry I wasn't here with you guys @Cano @Coxis and @AJHG1000 , I was away from my computer today... watching the game with my fam...

I'm just gonna say... I've never been so heartbroken in my entire life because of football... :(

...Not even when Toros Neza lost that final in 1997, and not even when Neza was relegated 13 years ago, and not when we lost the promotion final last year, only to disappear again, and not even when Atlante was relegated 2 months ago...

No... this is different... this is... ohhh god...

:(

You got away this time Netherlands... but we WILL come back... PROMISE...

Congratulations to today's winners...

Gracias Piojo, Gracias TRI!!!!

Honestly, I don't think they'll get that far... but well, this has been a very, veeery crazy World Cup, I think anything can still happen!!!

I'm not a fan of soccer, but I loveeee penalty kicks.

To me, soccer would be a huge time saver if it was all penalty kicks rather than 90 minutes of running on the lawn.

:P

Ochoa: I'm feeling cold, as if it was winter or something.
Robben: It's your chest, and I think it's on its last thump!
Ochoa: Whew, I was afraid it was my air conditioner.
Van Persie: What did that player want?
Robben: You remember that final we lost against Spain?
Van Persie: We're going to complain about it to FIFA?
Robben: You're a dull boy, Robin.

EDIT: Sorry about the double-post.

France Nigeria and then Germany Algeria on today, France game kicks-off in 15...

Since you've trundled here, go watch Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002.

Captain Tsubasa is best football.

@AOS- Or go watch Giant for that matter. As for the way France is playing..... oh boy.... Just barely offsides... but good call no doubt.. almost a goal for Les Bleus.. but NO SAVVVEEEEE!!! 2 corners for France.... NOTHING... Go Golden Eagles, Go!

So, now we have seen the Frenchies against a strong physical opponent and they look pretty poor.

Hope Nigeria will take this but with every knock-out game so far, the 'big' team will come out on top.

Indeed. I hope it continues to go the same pace in the second half.

With more goals for Nigeria than France of course.
