So, is this 'that one' race where Mercedes aren't on pole?
Actually maybe not. There is still over half the season to go.

Silly Hamilton, running wide doesn't get you anywhere in F1 does it now? Does it?
Oh.

Even though Rosberg will win, as a lifelong Massa fan I'm over the moon :D

Even though the spark plates offer no performance advantage or rob cars of any natural gain, and only really replace one existing component with a different material.

Well, that just confirms it in my eyes: Formula 1 fans are only happy when they have something to complain about. Has anyone considered the possibility that the real problem with the sport is not the FIA, not FOM and not the teams, but rather the fans who demand change, offer no constructive input and then whinge about it when they dislike the solutions?
Where I've heard this already... GT5 forum. Complaining the complainers.

Breaking news: in 2014 the most cryptic racing game developer made a blog to finally respond some of those questions.

Will Bernie do the same? I don't think so but blaming people is ridicolous as much as it was in GT5 forum.

Fernando the first man to congratulate felipe :)

That's just pure class.

Even if they sort any issues with Lewis' car tomorrow, it's an uphill climb from P9. He could likely finish fourth... or third, if he's lucky and one or two Williams have issues tomorrow... but it's going to be a long race.

He'll probably have to change something and start even further back.

Shame Lewis tyres did not hold on for turn 8, so close to beating the Williams by a decent margin but yet so far. I played this track on GT6 yesterday and didn't manage to do a lap without messing up in that final sector so makes me feel a bit better given F1 drivers struggle too to get a lap hooked up around here.

Great job by Kvyat, shame he never managed to beat his Q2 time though. Average showing by the Williams drivers ;).

Lewis said himself that he made a mistake and that there was nothing wrong on the car.
Lewis said he can't explain what happened. Regardless rear's locking up = something wrong with the car since it's already in park ferme and setup cant be changed.

Look at Massa's advantage in the speed trap, he's obviously got it set up for the long straights. He has a 4.4 km/h advantage over the next quickest (Bottas).

Should be good for Monza. Congrats to Williams today, lets see if they can convert that into a win, they missed a chance last race, be a shame to miss another.
I'm pleased for Massa while being disappointed for Bottas at the same time, but I'd be happy to see either of them on pole and take a win.

Why was his first lap slow?
Mercedes have been struggling to get the super sorfts up to temperature all weekend. They were still quick enough to challenge for pole, but they don't enjoy the advantage that they do on the soft tyres.

If Rosberg's first timed lap was slow, he probably missed an apex or something. But both he and Hamilton were definitely in contention for pole - it's not like they have suddenly developed an Achilles' heel that Williams could take advantage of. Massa and Bottas got lucky.

Well on German television Lewis was asked if it was his mistake or something with the car and Lewis said straight away that it was his mistake and nothing on the car.

That's funny because he said on the English feeds he had no idea what happened. The only thing he may have called a mistake was the lap that was disallowed due to running off.
Dunno what he said elsewhere. All I can say is that he said on RTL it was his fault. As a side note Niki Lauda (RTL co-commentator for pre and post session stuff) also said after the qualification that it must've been a driving error.

i do very much hope it is so and that Lewis learned something between those two interviews. but the way Paddy Lowe looked when sky interviewed him - "shellshocked" as Ted Kravitz put it. I am scared!
