I'll be happy just to get into the 1:03's; currently after 8 laps I am at 1:05 even using cockpit view. Do all the top racers use 'bumper cam'?

Like @Johnnypenso said, a google doc would be simple. I have a similar google doc I'm doing for SNAILRACING.ORG. I have a form they can submit their time through and it inputs to the database. I just need to sort and clean out older times. Pretty simple really. The post with the forms are linked in my signature if you want to check it out.

Yeah, that's what I'll have to do. I was trying to keep the post within this forum, but I think the nicer formatting would far outweigh having to follow a link.

Believe it or not, I use chase cam.

Chase cam for me as well. Any other racing game I use the hood/roof cam, but in GT I've always preferred the chase cam because it's so stiff. I'd use cockpit cam if chase wasn't an option in GT though, I hate the hood/roof cam they use.

So I gave the time trail another go
New time 1:03.313 I think that's good
Enough for 4-5th in the US

I tried the chase cam last night for a bit but it didn't work for me. I'm to used to the seeing the dials right in front of me. I did break the 1:04 barrier last night wooot wooot! Best time 1:03.990..... still 4000 racers ahead of me!

I knocked my time down to 1.04.188 and I know where I can improve. It's a just a bit harder to apply fixes lol

Well... I did say I was done trying to do laps but I went on earlier for a bit just cause I had nothing else to do. Right on my second overall lap I was ahead of my PB lap, but of course, my right side tires went into the grass right before the line and I lost all my momentum. :(

Guys, if any of you have done live events and/or doing it, help. Read this:
The amateurs are at it again. In the morning we were getting 5 minutes, then they take the fastest clean lap.

1) They're saying I'm not allowed to go again, unless I "wait half an hour or an hour". I thought it's ********, called them out, they said it's in the rules. They handed me the papers, I read every word of the rules and regulations and there's nothing regarding that.
2) When I went again hours later, they changed the rules. If you get ONE invalid lap, your whole session is invalid. So if you put a wheel in one of the glitched* areas at Silverstone, you're out.

*There's an exploit at turn 6. If you brake late, take an invisible apex in the middle of the track and go completely off before the cones, then rejoin the track later, it's a valid lap :/. I didn't know about this until it's late. You gain time in entry, mid corner and heaps of speed on the exit. However if you miss that invisible entrance and put a single wheel on the white line, it's invalid.

Is that how it works over there?

Turn 2 is still my nemesis although I knocked .150+ seconds off my best, down to a 1:03.712 - still a mile away from doodle's 1:03.096. The data logged helps immensely to know when/where the time is lost but I am struggling to release the brake smoothly in T2. I also see the little trick you did in T2 Doodle, that helped a bit :) Will be at Portland International Raceway this weekend with CSCC but next week I'll give it another go - will most likely miss the D1 fun as well :/

Just a thought, but it kinda seems like this GT Academy is an attempt at distracting people from the issues with the game. Perhaps I'm being paranoid, but I do believe PD does read the posts and they put this on to bring people back to the game. If I am correct in this assumption, I hope it's followed with a big update to keep us all playing.

Why? Just win Racer X again, easy! xD

Definitely planning on it, but im not so sure i can pull it off again this year.

Last year we played on GT6 physics engine which equalized the field . We played on a new physics engine and a new track. Basically none of us had an advantage. It was all about who can learn faster and not break under pressure.

I think this year will be much different. I know dgaf95Interga will be there and a few other fast guys that have been preparing all year. So it will be very interesting to see how it goes.

Yeah been racing as much as possible when gt6 came out
Hoping that there will be a racers x this year cause qualifying last
Year wasn't the easiest either way I'm going to make it :)

Nice to see I'm not that far behind in Canada. Drove about two hours straight to get that time, and you guys are making me want to get back into it.

Also, GT Academy announced on their Facebook page that the final event will have regional leaderboards.
