I know I'm in for sure, but the only thing I regret is I got bumped out of the outright top 28 with half an hour to go. Life' s cruel innit? :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Good job Neovre! And everyone else who made it. Hope I still make it.
Anyway back to Snail racing next week.
Time for sleep!

Represent at the semis GTPers. I didn't make it, my excitement for you guys is the mega, just like the gutted feeling I have. Hope they do it again next year.

:gtpflag:

As the competition finishes... whenever here, just want to give everyone the highest of fives for the effort each person has put in this year. 👍 Congrats to all that made it, and even if you came up a little short remember that you left nothing on the table and gave it your all. Keep practicing, evaluate and improve for next year so you can be one of the few heading to the national finals.

Congratulations, everyone! It's been fun so far, now lets get to business. :mischievous:

According to the "adjusted list" I finished 29th. lol. ouch that hurts. I certainly gave it my all. I'm actually very pleased with where I finished this year. Upset that I didn't make the top 28? Of course, however, I know all the people ahead of me deserve to be there. They are obviously the better drivers and thats what this is all about. Congrats to all of the guys who will be moving on to the next round. And Good Luck to all!!!

i think i maybe sitting 28th if my calculations are correct.

tired of squeezing in lol

last year at racer x being the under dog and barely winning ...

qualifying 16th at the nationals and having to race in the gokarts for the top 12 for silverstone...

this stuff isnt good for my heart man... lol.

GTAcademy will be the end of me. I cant freaking breath..

:ill:

All my rant aside, congrats to whomever that made it! Well done to the top 28.

Both of you remember there have been more than just the guys everyone was aware of that dropped the previous two years. Don't assume shortcoming just yet, you never know if you'll be getting an email. 👍

Also, Armen, if I were you I wouldn't be worried too much about just squeaking into the top 28. You had the chops to get to boot camp last year, I don't see how you wouldn't this year.

Well done everyone! Some very good times out there on a tricky combo.

I kept messing up the final chicane on my fast laps and left a couple tenths out there, but reasonably happy with the couple 14.6s I got.

Can't wait for NY! See you guys there.

Anyone know if the total number of participants is listed anywhere? I'm curious how many people participated in the us and worldwide.

Congrats to everyone that made top 28! for those that didn't make it keep your head up high you guys have allot to be proud of.

I believe I would have been 30th on the adjusted list if not for a blistering lap on what I thought was the very last minute. 22nd officially.

Definitely visit manhattan greenway. The bits between Pier 11 and battery park are my favorite bits, but if u get the chance rent a bicycle and take a trip from east river park to as far around as you can go. It's truly beautiful with views on both manhattan and brooklyn/jersey.

Yea I really hope they will go easier on the familiar faces from last years finals. I also certainly hope that I wont have to fight for my seat as hard as last year lol.

Also fingers crossed on the real life driving stuff. I think thats what saved me last year according to Boris Said.

As a noob, can someone tell me what will happen in NY? I know there's a heap of unknown with the simulation part, but what else is in the real life portion if any?
Last year was just sort of a one lap autocross-ish run around one of the layouts at Monticello Raceway. Who knows what they'll do this year. I wouldn't be surprised by a fitness test.

Congrat's to every one that really pushed themselves! Now it's time to let the real games begin.

We'll settle this in NY.

Didn't read up on last year's posts and news articles yet?

Here's a little photoblog from last year's events I put together:

But no one knows what to expect this year.

They're going more and more European with it though, so maybe we'll see the introduction of physical tests this year at Nationals, gonna be interesting.

Broken dreams. :( Been at this since roughly 5pm, shortly after the NASCAR race ended. Doing 1 hour stints with 15 minute breaks in between, so about 9 hours of intense hot lapping, hoping for that one magical lap. With each passing hour, I could see my hopes of becoming a finalist slowly diminishing, yet I pushed on. Was up on my ghost by as much as .300 but just couldn't string it all together. I'm not going to lie, the last half hour was spent driving with tears in my eyes as I knew the end was near, but yet I pushed on, continually wiping my eyes just so I could see, hoping for a miracle. It just wasn't meant to be. :( I done all I could, pushed myself further than I have ever pushed before, which only makes the heartbreak that much more worse. I really had high hopes for this year to at least make it close, but as it looks, I was still about .600 off the pace from making it in. I guess there is always next year, but with father time and my health working against me, my time is limited. If there is any positives to take from this, I did learn a few things from this experience which should serve me well in the future. Thanks to all who have lent their time and knowledge in helping me along this year...I greatly appreciate it and couldn't have gotten as far as I did without your help.

Congrats to those that made it in, a job well done and I really admire you all for what you have been able to accomplish. Good luck to you all the rest of the way, keep pushing as the competition has only just begun. You all have alot to be proud of and whoever it is that makes it through to the life long dream spot will surely deserve it.

So until next time my good friends, keep your foot down and keep reaching for the stars. Stay fast.

My final stats.
Time: 2'16.441
Regional: 132nd
World: 1,246th
Kilometers Driven: 6,256

Haha yessir!

Any chance Monticello is featured in any video games? Also, is it known for sure that's where where it will be this year?

I am a little behind on that. Too focused on the TT. Will be doing my overdue homework from hereon.

Don't be disappointed, all that experience will carry over into the future, it took me 4 years to barely make the cut this year and I can only look back and say all those effort finally paid off. Keep your head up and push on!

Look up "Maher Solutions" Cyrus - they are a local facility that has an AWESOME simulator. Not terribly pricey, but not cheap. The car physics are ridiculously good and they have MANY real circuits. Worth the effort if there is even a remote chance to be driving in real life @ Monticello 👍

You are consistently excellent, my friend! I will be doing so! I didn't even realize anything like that existed around here. The car scene is secretly amazing in the metro area.
