Looks like they're kicking off with autocrossing at MetLife stadium according to NISMO facebook page. Which...makes no sense.

EDIT: Makes total sense, I'm just bad at maps and stuff.

Must be using Versas for that. They were at Monticello last year but we never used them.

I think it's awesome they chose Autox instead of TT at a road course that nobody knew. People don't have to be afraid of crunching the car so they can drive much more aggressively and show their stuff. Also cool that they mixed it up this year.

I wonder if they will seed the GT6 race tournament by AutoX results? That would certainly spice things up.

Sorry, autocrossing was an assumption based on the fact MetLife stadium is commonly used for it and I saw cones. Could be all sorts of stuff with 'autocrossy' elements (braking, slaloms, etc), but not an actual autocross course itself. Dunno. Also provides plenty of space for physical activity ;).

Maybe they will be eliminating some contestants based purely on their real world skills (or lack thereof). Possibly narrow the field even further tomorrow in the live stream event?

I like the format ... Excited to see how it all develops.

While that would suck for those with little driving experience, it makes the most sense for finding a new pro driver. Would definitely serve to make race camp even more difficult. On a semi-bright side for those with weak driving skills at least they wouldn't make it all the way to Silverstone just for a swift elimination and perma-ban from competing in GTA. They'd have a whole year to work on it, then come back next year (hopefully)
