"Contestants who have previously attended the GT Academy Boot Camp at Silverstone Race Circuit in the United Kingdom are not eligible to enter."

@ Bentley Room Crew: So are we out then, mates?
I still think, and everyone will agree with me, that Connor deserves another shot since he never really got to compete at Silverstone due to a family emergency.

I was more concerned about the line just before that - apparently you can't enter if you were in a national level karting competition? Wasn't one of the Race Camp guys last year a national karting champion?

I assume there's no requirements at all. Not hard to get gold anyways. Because it doesn't say, I'd expect this event has no influence.

From the FAQ page: "NOTE: There are 4 rounds within the OQM, and you must complete the first 2 rounds of the OQM by 12:01 AM PST on May 19, 2014 to proceed with official registration and to enter the contest. If you do not complete the first 2 rounds by then, you will not be able to register or enter the contest."

I believe that completion just means bronze. But if you can't do gold in the qualifiers, then what are you really doing in this competition? Lol.

*Sorry for the double post*

Phil in the first competition I think was the same, but they never said anything about it. I think that's one of the rules they are not as strict on for some reason.

Fn PSN caped out the amount of people it will show as posting a time @ 38,423 and that is all they will report. It used to be cool knowing how many tried to run at least one lap. :(

Don't worry, they will tell you at the end of the competition how many total participants were entered. Not that big of a deal right? Just aim for the sharp end, that's what really matters.

And give props to the PSN for providing that deep of a field list - the website stops at 250..

I'm so pumped up right now for GT Academy to begin. :D

Nice job, currently holding a top 20 spot overall @Doodle (16th overall and top American currently) !

@goofytyler - I know you are using a controller but turn your traction control off and you will for sure be quicker, you have a good first sector split but it goes to &*%$ after that and I would bet it is mainly due to TCS bud..

Cheers,

Don

I'm confused by the rules. What rounds actually count? It said may something but the final round opens June 2nd..

Yes, i believe only the last round will actually count towards the national finals.
Yes but be careful - you still have to do the qualification rounds. The second round is only open for 2 weeks and will not be able to do the final round if you don't complete it within that window.

Also, I think it's possible that they could still reference your qualification rounds at some point in the future of the competition, like tiebreaking for example, although mostly they're just for bragging rights.

Hey i'll have to look at it when I get home from school cause I thought I had TC off but if it was on then i'll make sure its off cause I feel like I can run a 1:04 to 1:03 time. Thanks for the heads up.

Data logger is massively helpful, however it only really pays off it you can execute it! Was actually ahead of the fastest first sector and then keep throwing it away in the second. GRRRRR!

As for the question of the qualification rounds - as long as you get a trophy on each of the first three by the time specified (June 2) you will be able to participate in the 'final round' and a shot at the national finals.

Cheers

@fastfox400 - it would appear that somehow your 'fastest' time did not upload to the GT servers :/ .. Shows you at 1:03.868 rather than what you had stated at a 1:03.5xx . Bummer dude, at least this one doesn't 'matter' ..

Unfortunately I will not be competing this year due to numerous circumstances. Best of luck too all
Thats ok :) one less fast competitor for us. :D I'm going to try my hardest this year. In 2012 I tried and got in the top 1000 but I was underage so didnt try super hard. In 2013 I didn't try at all and got like 15000. But this year. ;) too 28 I hope!!!

Got everything sorted and ready this year Armen?
Yes sir! I got the paperwork taken care of. If i was anyone expecting to make the finals, I would get my passport right now. DO NOT LEAVE IT TO LAST MINUTE! Lol.

And as far as this event goes, i will probebly push for a 1 03.4xx and start practicing with rwd cars. No point in waisting time with this car.

This man knows what he's doing 👍

Best of luck Armen
