Still not working!!!!! I have nothing. I can't even can't even connect to the router's ip addy via wifi nor ethernet. I don't understand.

Sorry i had to pull out. The car was brutal when i hit the brakes. Just kept swerving randomly. And around there it isnt smart. So i hit the wall like 3 times.. Adam pulled out cause of same reason. We really must find out why the car doing this..

I had to quit. Car was roughly as stable as the average plutonium atom. My arms are killing me from trying to drive it. Thanks REST for giving me the chance to race, I put it 13 laps for you guys.

Qualified 5th, running steady in 4th one hour into the race......DISCONNECT.

It is disheartening to prepare, practice and turn up for races and then not even be able to finish, even if it is in last place, due to circumstances entirely outside of your control. It is putting a serious question mark on the viability and practicality of running long online races in the Race mode format.

Other organisers have decided to run long races in Practice mode to allow drivers to reconnect and permit drivers changes when team mates are not in the same country....it is perhaps something to consider. Please see the link below for what others are doing and how they plan to manage the issues arising out of racing in practice mode:

So close to getting 2nd, considering how slow I was along with the damage on the opening stint, 3rd is pretty good, just a mere 4secs behind jonny, being less than a minute off the lead bodes well for us so far.

Correction: 14 Laps.

If any GT2 teams need a driver for next race, you know where to find me. GT3 isn't happening though.

Well if there's one thing I learned, its a terrible idea to drive in the wet on Racing Hards

In the dry, I was quick and when it was about 18% wet I could get away with it but as it got beyond that, I had to basically crawl in the wet as I had loads of wheel spin even in a straight line. Good race, even if I hardly did much racing. Can't believe I got a class win out of that mess (and had managed a 9'33 to boot, a time I couldn't even get close to in qualifying).

I apologize for the lap 1 contact. Rear end got squirrely. Also, sorry to Lancer for that hit. I had damage to the right rear tire and I slipped off the curb.

Ow. A new addition to my list of things to never do: Do not deliver an accidental uppercut to a thick oak table 50 minutes into an endurance event. That was the most painful thing I've done for a while. @Ninners I finished, it's alright.

Shame it didn't snow, it's like the weather here, one day it's raining for hours, the next it's all sunny and normal, the next day it's drizzling every 30mins...I..I..I'm just lost.

That went bad in so many ways and for so many reasons...

First and foremost I didn't practise with the new cars until last night for a bit more than an hour.. haven't had time to do it recently really but that reeeally showed in the race. Wasn't confident in the car and the setup felt like crap.

So, first in the quali i ran off on both laps so I didn't set a time and started from the back.

First three laps in the race actually went ok.. then it started raining a little bit but no surface water, but enough to make me worry and I had my first off, then again next lap.

Then when i tried to get in to the rhythm again, all of the sudden someone knocks at the door. So I pause and get over there and it's some neighbour who wants to sleep and tells me to turn it down a bit.

I turn it down a lot and disconnect the wheel, because that's probably the loudest part, and start playing with the DS3 instead.

Realise pretty fast that I suck at driving with the controller but thinks that maybe I'll get in to it.. then it starts to rain..

So I crawl to the pits with my injured car and think I'm gonna change to rain tires... but nooo I have forgot to buy them..

Soo I crawl around for an hour until it stops raining and have the worst time of my life.. and then I keep crashing even when it's not raining just because it's so much fun.. and then the race doesen't even end when we pass 3 hours so I have to struggle around agaaaain.

Ugh, so tired now but next time I'll be back and hopefully not as worthless. :P

I was all by myself with many crashes and saves... someone needs to do a race in review :) don't forgot to watch me for the first 6, and last laps. :P (My last lap was a 15:11.9)

Very hard race... I did few mistakes, but overal Ok. Gongratilation for Plux, Jonny and Nin. On picture unoficial results.

I think 'steep learning curve' is the correct statement here.

Having finally got a handle on the R8 in the past couple of nights, I struggled a little during qualifying and the first couple of laps when I foolishly tried to drive to the limit, rather then just trying to survive; however I got my head around it before too long and got into the rhythm.

Was pretty uneventful from then until about 1h20, when suddenly the rain came, onto inters lap 9 then full wets soon after. Still even changing tyres and grip levels didn't reveal any horrible or unplanned handling traits, the same however cannot be said for the 3rd hour.

Within the space of a lap the track went from 100% surface water to 20%, however as I was coming up to the pits, the rain began again and I stayed on rain tyres, only made it back down to 23% before drying to 0% by the end of that lap, surprisingly the rain tyres were easy to drive on even in the dry, just slow.

So there I was thinking yes, survived the rain, track feels grippy, 50 second lead, pretty good. Pit in for softs and some more fuel enjoy the last hour... Unfortunately, it turns out that the game's indication of surface water refers to the racing line, not the rest of the track (including the pit-lane); so lo and behold, exit the pits and immediately have an uncontrollable spin into the barrier and get damage. Similar incident on the exit of the GP loop when I lost sight of the racing line into the tight left-hander; but I was learning, stuck to the racing line and the end of the lap there seemed to be pretty good grip off of it too.

Until the first corner again, where suddenly there was no grip in the braking zone, big wobble, slide across the apex, and straight in the wall; front left to go with my front right damage. A careless moment on the curbs at the start of the Nordscheife added rear left to that, but even then the car was fairly drive-able, not so when I made another mistake before the mini-Karussell and got the full set of engine and all four corners.

Suffice to say my superior position was squandered, when I eventually left the pits, I was in 4th, about 1:30 behind the leader. However I was still determined, getting up to 2nd in the space of a lap and a bit, before throwing it in the wall again; and I'll admit that was all by myself, can't blame the game for that one. Car was still handling okay and was just about holding onto Plux, who had fallen to 20 seconds ahead after his stop, and driving away from Nin in 3rd.

As the gap to Plux kept increasing since he was on fresher tyres and without damage, I kinda assumed the race was run, however the rain began again on lap 20, making it to 45% by the time I followed Plux into the pits 40s behind him.
The chaos really began now, I had picked inters and he had chosen full wets, the weather falling in my favour as the rain became very on off, allowing me to close the gap to 7s crossing the line onto the final lap. Plux diving into the pits for a set of softs as I pondered questions of divine influence.

However as is the way when you assume things are said and done, I had another careless moment on the curbs just after the Karussell and took engine damage and rear right damage. The rest is history as they say, managed to limp back just ahead of Nin but Plux took the top step by quite some way. While I'm pretty convinced GT6's eccentricities cost me a commanding win, I'm painfully aware that I managed to throw the race away all by myself!

Things to learn from this:

- In the rain, the racing line is incredibly grippy:
I managed to go to 85% on inters without the grip being too bad
- Rain tyres are very stable in the dry: You'll lose laptime, but the car is perfectly drive-able on a completely dry track
- For about 10/15 mins after the track has dried, offline is still very slippery

Sorry if that comes across as patronising but hell, I didn't know it before last night, and I kinda wish I had.
If anyone fancies a laugh, watching from 2h on the race clock should prove entertaining https://new.livestream.com/accounts/6022590/events/2666250

Can we get get race reports from drivers please.

Thanks and well done to all those who took part.

Seriously I only made 1 good call, while you guys were on wets I went to inters and made up 15secs, but it dried out and I really wish I stayed out longer, the inters were decent in the wet and dry, Turn 1 was hell too, even on the racing line I was locking up rears like the handbrake was on, on my outlap I went straight on and Lucas followed me. On pace I was losing 6-10 secs a lap and the thing actually felt fine and I was in the high 8:20s and I can't work out why it sucked so much on lap time(Ik about tyre glitch) so much.

At least you remembered to buy rain tires before the race ^^ did enyone else forget? Felt like maybe Play and LordZ also forgot?

Jepp I also only got dry tires. It took me 20 min round the track when it was 100% wet. And it was the same for some in the other rooms.
