NAT type 2
Download 6.8 Mbps
Upload 359.5 Kbps

Funny thing is, i don't suffer much by way of DC's or lag...definitely not the fastest but it is very stable, low traffic area and 400yds from the exchange...

I've raced plenty, with people with silly fast fibre ( 10x faster than mine ) that live in high volume areas that have nothing but trouble...say in a block of flats or the city centre some of these guys don't even bother at peak times anymore..due to the hassle.

Yeah only connection speeds probably won't tell us much about reliability..
I think we'll be alright as long as whoever will be hosting the lobby has the best connection out of everyone. Even more so if we're not on a fixed host, (which we won't be) so even if the host gets disconnected more likely then not we'll still be racing.

The connection speeds people are posting are only their speeds at the current time they checked. For those who don't have password protected internet, you never know when the neighbors are going to leech off of you. In addition, you never know when your internet will just go down. My internet is usually really good, but I had a time where it seemed to crash at almost the same time for a few weeks, then it was good for months and then it was crashing at the same time every day later on. It hasn't done that since for months now, but I don't know if or when that crap will start up again.

It seems my speed compared to the others is extremely slow, but still good enough for the wife to be on the laptop, me to be on the ps3 and my son to be on xbox live all at the same time with no issues...Anytime i've ever seen my bandwidth it has said normal...however i know some people with fibre that say their bandwidth can change between low, normal and high??

Can anyone confirm that bandwidth refers to how many devices you have running through your router..ie the more devices the narrower the bandwidth??

I think you'll find that the test you do on your PS3 shows how much of your total bandwidth is actually reaching your PS3 at any given time. I'd expect that number to change if you did the test while your son was on X-Box Live (or not as the case may be).

Logically speaking, a sole user could have a more reliable connection, even if on a slower connection, than someone who is sharing a connection with multiple users making random high demands on the same connection. Also a wired connection is often more reliable (not faster) than a wireless copnnection

Indeed, when we're all on my ps3 is usually around 5.0Mbps 356.0Kbps..........the thing that bugs me is the track jitters....only usually happens when someone is lagging though.

It was my understanding that when the track jitters for someone, they are the one that is lagging. I could be wrong though.

Dave, I think Matt would like you to actually go into 'Settings' on your PS3 and go to 'Network Settings' then 'Internet Connection Test' and give him some hard numbers as TOR and we have done

its safe to say i don't have the best internet, infact to minimize the issues with connection i am looking at mobile WiFi for skype and the livestream to ensure our race connection is as strong as possible for the entirety of the event

According to the connection test on the playstation GORE will have Download 40.6Mbps. Upload. 38.8Mbps. But since the test on the playstation isn´t accurate at all, I made another test that turned out 95.7/12.1 which should be our actual bandwidth.

People of the N24, I am opening my lobby up now for an evening of testing, There will be no racing but rather more of a trial run for drivers to get use to driving long stints etc... please feel free join and crowed up my lobby!!
