Back when he was playing for Santos, in that dynamic duo with Neymar yes. Right now he plays a good game, and for 3, 4 games his name is barely mentioned...
Well one player for sure which will be steeping foot into Europe soon is Barbosa of Santos.

Ah yes, Gabriel Barbosa, legendary player on Football Manager in the last two years, turns in to a World class striker after five years on there...

Yeah, the kid's good. Really wish he played on São Paulo instead of Santos... has the potential to be a big striker. I really hope he becomes, I like the kid a lot..

Actually, I find strange that I'm refering to him as a kid when he's actually younger than me by a year. And between my friends when we play football I'm usually the striker (I'm actually good at scoring goals, not enough to become professional though ), so maybe that's why I'm really hoping for the best for the guy.

Just saying I'm a year older than this guy who gave the Liverpool defence a run around last year in UCL and is worth around £10 mill.

Hey, we all go through that phase when you realise that world class footballers are now younger than you. David de Gea is a year younger than me. As a goalkeeper myself, that was heartbreaking to know.

Petr Cech is about 6 months older than me. I think my window of opportunity ha passed.

Football Manager does have a special ability to make several players inexplicably talented and every season there will be at least one game-breaking striker in your division who just cannot stop scoring and he won't be playing for your team.

Yes! There was this guy Ganso. Always wondered why he never made the leap to Europe. Do you still think he can make it there?

And what about Adriano? (Adriano the Emperor), last time I heard of him he failed to sign to a Ligue 2 team. Maybe he returned to Brazil? Is he doing anything at all?

If he can rediscover his football from the Santos times, I guess...

Doing the one of the two things he does good, which is partying.

If Ganso learns to run, he probaly would have already rediscovered his form. However, all he does today is walk on the pitch.

As for Adriano, a team called União Rondonópolis, wich is non-league, is interested.

That's... unbelievable.

None of that makes any sense

I second that.

I think it's more the formation in using that breaks the game. I'm playing a 4-1-2-3 formation with 3 poachers. They share the goals between them, and no one else in the team scores. It took a season and a half for Mario to become happy, and I'm his favourite person! He even signed a new contract.

Surprised to see that the manager is his favourite person.

Once I realized he would never be the shadow of the shadow of his former self, I had this wild fantasy that he could end up playing for my team (Atlante), or with a 2nd division club in Mexico. (un)Fortunately, that will never happen (???).

I imagine that it would have been even more embarassing that seeing Ronaldihno walk in slow motion every week with Querétaro

Ohh, I see. Just checked myself, too. Thanks a lot 👍

Man United have scored three goals away to Newcastle!, No I haven't made that up!!

2-3 with less than ten to go...

3-3, Dummett equaliser in the 90th minute, we were 0-2 up and threw away a two goal lead, I have nothing to say....

At least it wasn't 0-0, which is progress........of sorts!

Garde gets his first win a Villa boss at the 11th time of asking!

When we defend we can't attack, when we attack we can't defend. Zero balance, ***** management.

Can I just say that as a Swans fan as well I cant believe we got £12 million for Shelvey!, He is good player and a great player when he wants to be but he has barely featured this season and fell out with former boss Monk a few times and I think we only bought him for £8 million so to make a fairly hefty profit is quite staggering and I have no Idea what Newcastle were thinking!

Steven Caulker joins Liverpool on loan after terminating his loan to Southampton, good player...

@daan Does this mean... you're no longer Motherwell manager? Where's Moult?!

Well, it was all quiet there for a while wasn't it? Don't worry, David Dunn has become the first casualty of 2016. He was appointed in October. Oldham are clearly in a relegation fight this year and sacking someone you appointed just three months ago isn't exactly going to help.

John Sheridan is the favourite to take the job; he's currently helping Newport up the league table on a temporary contract and was actually Plymouth manager around the time this thread was started so that would mean three jobs in a year for him alone. I'd hate to be a football manager in this climate.

12th January - David Dunn (Oldham Athletic, sacked) League One

Sackings: 32
Resignations: 4
Expirations: 2
Approaches: 3

Total: 41

Hurray, not only do Oldham become the third club to appear twice on the OP list after Swindon and Chesterfield but they're the very first club to appear twice due to two sackings in one season! Yeah!

Just 7 more jobs or so and we'll hit 50%. Astonishing.

Moult's fine. He's in another save, but I just get bored of having no money in Scotland.

True enough, magnify that financial poverty by about 100 and decrease the reputation by the same amount and that's why I don't tackle the Welsh leagues first; I don't want to get left behind by the time I secure a job in England.

Incidentally, and something which might interest @Touring Mars too, I tried whipping up the Scottish Sack Race. It took a bit of effort to find them but here it is so far for comparative purposes:

23rd May - Ray McKinnon (Brechin City, moves to Raith Rovers) League One
27th May - Stephen Aitken (Stranraer, moves to Dumbarton) League One

23rd September - Ian Baraclough (Motherwell, sacked) Premiership
26th September - Jackie McNamara (Dundee United, sacked) Premiership

31st October - Colin Cameron (Berwick Rangers, sacked) League Two

7th December - Danny Lennon (Alloa Athletic, resigned) Championship
12th December - Dick Campbell (Forfar Athletic, sacked) League One
18th December - Ian Murray (St. Mirren, resigned) Championship
20th December - Gary Bollan (Airdrieonians, moves to Forfar Athletic) League One
21st December - Mark Burchill (Livingston, sacked) Championship

Sackings: 5
Resignations: 2
Expirations: 0
Approaches: 3

Total: 10

The Scottish Football League only has half as many teams as the English Football League but also has only half as many departures proportionally.

English League: 41/92 = 45%
Scottish League: 10/42 = 24%

I'm just surprised they bought someone who isn't French.

£12m is insane for Shelvey, then again, Newcastle managed to get £35m for Carroll, so they aren't that stupid.
