Watching some of the celebrations in Leicester today - really brilliant scenes... :)

Claudio Ranieri must win this year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year award... he truly embodies what a true 'Sports Personality' is - likeable, charming, humble and massively accomplished. Ranieri deserves the award for his remarkable achievement alone, but it would also be a nice way of making up for the mockery, derision and even ridicule he has suffered at the hands of the British press... what a way to turn the tables on every hack and armchair pundit in the nation!

Congrats to Famine's Sheffield Wednesday on making it to the Championship play-off final 👍

Drew 1-1 with Brighton tonight and go through 1-3 on aggregate, most likely play Hull in the final as they are 3-0 up v Derby and that second leg is tomorrow night.

@Touring Mars isnt the sports personality for British people only? I don't think he's eligible, but he would be a very popular winner if he was eligible.
There is an overseas award, but the main prize is for British people only.

I've been thinking, if the game at Old Trafford was a potential title decider, would they have postponed the other team's game as well? I feel if the title isn't settled before the final game the teams should always play simultaneously to avoid any potential nonsense.

Ranieri would only be eligible for Coach anyway, rather than the main award, but I can almost guarantee Jamie Vardy will be shortlisted for the main prize.

The BBC SPOTY winner doesn't necessarily have to be British - just that they either live here or conduct (most of) their sport here. Sadly, though, I reckon Jimlaad43 is right insomuch as there is a separate award for 'Coach of the Year' and therefore Ranieri will probably not be up for the main award - but that is a real shame IMO.

Sports Performer and Sports Personality should be two different awards. Boring people who do really well shouldn't be sports 'personality' of the year.

Just my two pence worth.

I've always had the same standpoint.

Unfortunately the biggest voice with that view last year was Tyson Fury, who is not someone I can get behind.

I could see that game ending up as literally any score. We could hump them 3-0, they could sponk us 5-0, anything in-between or much further out.

It's the richest single match in world sport and if we both turn up it should be an absolute cracker.

And of all the teams to play in the final you get Hull Tigers City. The absolute yo-yo team of the 2010s from a town you love oh so dearly.

It looks like that FC Twente will be relegated to the Jupiler League for all the financial mishaps that have been uncovered the last couple of months.

Really? What's happened?

One more post-season departure. He kept them up and walks away having done the job he was hired for.

The punishment has been applied.

Really? What's happened?

If I am understanding the case correctly, they had a third party mingle in their financial bits causing unfair financial advantage over the other teams. And that bubble burst when that news came out, they're now 32 million in the red, and most of their plans on how to get back on track were shot down, or handed in too late.

32 mil in the red and relegated to the Dutch Jupiler? Ooh, that's gotta hurt.

Unless they can find a sugardaddy to keep the money flowing, a year in the sewer of Dutch football will most likely mean the end of the Tukkers.

Good win and performance last night, the opening goal was great, no surprise that OT wasn't full after Sunday, gutted that De Gea didn't get the most clean sheets after a fairly comical own goal from Smalling, on to Saturday.

Aston Villa chairman Steve Hollis in China for talks with a consortium there about the sale of the club, turs out the consortium are in talks of their own with Roberto Di Matteo's people about the managers job there.

John Teey has signed a one year deal at Chelsea.

And Finally, I never thought I would ever have one of my posts liked by Famine!

I'd prefer Sheffield Weds to make the jump. Better than another yo yo club like hull. They're not going to do much more than Sunderland or Newcastle would.

Observe where the "S" in "Wednesday" is.

If we lose the playoff final I won't be terribly disheartened by it - I wasn't expecting anything even close to playoffs this year and to be honest, Hull probably deserve it more for the season-long performance and are more likely to survive a season.

Nor would I be especially overjoyed if we win it - if we go up, you'll get terrible odds on us going down again and though the money would be nice we're pretty stable as a club now after the monstrous overspend to try to keep us in the Premier League last time out and the callous gutting of the team's special players by David the Dullard Pleat. I don't want us to be in the same hole again - we just survived and managed to get through a situation that would probably have seen us docked league points had it happened 2 years later.

I think the final will be an amazing game though. I wouldn't want to predict it, that's for sure.

I think one of the biggest problems with the money coming into the Premier League is it will really hurt the championship. The clubs who come down over the next few years will have so much more money than the teams that never make it up. I think it's going to result in more yoyo teams like Hull, Norwich and Burnley and we might see the end of the Swansea/Bournemouth stories.

I think not getting promoted could hurt both clubs, although Hull do already have a decent amount of money...

Are you going to the final @Famine ??, its a great day out if you win!, went to see Swansea in the Play-off final in 2010 which saw us get promoted to the Premier League, everything about that day was fantastic, also went to see us win the League Cup in 2012 beating Bradford 5-0, another great day out, if a lot colder!

I'm a little tempted, but then I can't sustain the veneer of aloofness if I take the trouble to go and we lose

Two more.

Blackpool and Neil McDonald 'part ways'.
Northampton to appoint Port Vale's Rob Page.

Well we went 3-0 up at half time in our final but then Reading scored twice in the first 10 mins of the second half, then they hit the bar twice and had a good penalty shout turned down so us Swans fans were crapping ourselves for a while but then we got a penalty and scored it with about 15 mins to go and that was it.

A few of us went on a minibus and the atmosphere was brilliant on the way back, when we got to the tolls for the Severn Bridge there were other buses and coaches there full of fellow fans just blasting their horns and singing Swansea songs, the other people theremust have wondered what the hell was going on!

Duly noted. Any post season departures will be added to this season's list. Should I be the one to start next season's thread, it'll be after the final play-off has been decided and all departures will then count as pre-season for 2016/17.

Incredible. It would be even more incredible had I had the time to put in how long each manager was in their job. The average tenure is 18 months or fewer. Off the top of my head, 27 of those who were sacked were hired this season.

Aston Villa is now in Chinese hands. Tony Xia bought the club for 60 million pound.

Two other stories:

La Liga clubs to be fined for showing empty seats on television - Ridiculous

Frankfurt captain fails a drugs test but finds out he has a tumour - Astonishing

Edit: And Richard Wright, former Ipswich and Arsenal keeper, has retired from playing at the age of 38 and a brilliant 0 appearances for Man City 2012-2016 and a cool £1.4 million gross earnt.

This was when he moved to Preston in pre-season 2012/13, then quit after a few days complaining of "homesickness" from his Suffolk base then moved to Man City two weeks later.

There is no way any of the smaller Football League teams will vote to have less home games, so less gate receipts and to potentially let in the Premier League B teams (likely the real reason to propose these changes) and lose fans to those teams too, not a chance.
