2015 Dodge Challenger

Which is what goes back to the Challenger. Ford is obviously onto something special with the 350R (CF wheels anyone?), & I've read the next Camaro's platform will be much more ideal for something like the Z/28, so the question is will Dodge follow suit? Will the next-gen. Challenger's (if it's even continuing; IDK) platform be designed so that should Dodge join Ford & GM on the race track, it will remain competitive? Can it surprise the foreigners like the Z/28 did? They could still pull a Ford & have Hellcats running wild with the GT500/ZL1, but I don't see how they couldn't benefit from having a Challenger that's not a one-trick pony.

I was under the impression a while back that the LX cars would be moving to a chassis based on that of the Maserati Ghibli, but we're still a long way out on that. The FCA Five Year Plan that they showed off back in May has the new Charger/Challenger/300 replacement set for 2018... But no information on what exactly it'll be. Fair bet is that they'll wait to see what the new Camaro, Taurus, and PPV/SS replacements will be long before anything solid comes into picture with the LX replacements.

Given that FCA seems to be all about "personality" with their new models, I'm having doubts as to whether or not they'll try to downsize and play ball with a world-class Mustang and Camaro. The Charger, Challenger, and 300 all sell on their brutish personalities, each of them offering a lot more bang/buck than some of the others depending on what you're measuring. The Challenger is big, comfortable, and silly. Its done well. As of yet, I don't know if they'd have any reason to change that formula, especially when the others seem to be going the other way. It really seems like FCA is doing what Mercedes taught them to do years ago - find the whitespace in the market that isn't being targeted, and open fire.

Oh yeah, I saw my first 2015 R/T Scat Pack & 2015 SRT Hellcat not too long ago. Yeah, I'm going to say that I still love the styling. The Hellcat's grill kinda reminds me of the 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. Well, the shape of it anyway.

Also, there's one thing I noticed on the Dodge website. The R/T Scat Pack and SRT 392 both have the same amount of horsepower and cornering ability according to car and driver. The SRT 392 though costs more, so what would be the reason to buy the 392 over the Scat Pack? Is it equipment or something else?

The Scat Pack is a base model R/T with the SRT performance options. SRTs basically come loaded.

Or, the Scat Pack is the Road Runner to the SRTs Belvedere GTX.

Isn't the 392 the old one?

Scat Packs are Loaded R/T's with optional leather, Dual Mode Suspension, 4 Piston Brembo Brakes, 255's in the rear and the 6.4L

392's have the the 3 Mode Suspension, 6 Piston Brakes, 275's

Yeah, I see now. The differences are laid out right on their website.

In addition to the standard features above, the SRT comes with alcantara standard with available leather. Leather is not available on the scat pack, and you may option a Beats soundsystem instead of the Karman Hard-on.

The SRTs also have 6-pot calipers instead of 4. And they have half-inch wider wheels.

Scat Packs have the leather/Alcantara Optional charge of $1,495

They have the alcantara available as I mentioned, but they do not get the leather package. Full leather is only available for SRT numbers and SRT Hellcat.

I don't get it. They were saying how the chassis #0000howevermanyzeros000001 with its special paint job and all that would be the first and only 1 of 1 car they'd do. Then they go on to do that Viper 1 of 1 thing and now this.

Just Advertising for the 1 Of 1 Viper Program.

Why did they go through the effort to develop a twincharging system for a one-off car?

Dodge Didnt Develope it, The company that supplied the Turbo's did. This isnt SRT's workings

"The folks at Walsh Motorsports took the standard Hellcat Challenger and fitted up a Hellion Power Systems twin turbo setup"

They just didnt want to make just a Black Hellcat with a Front spoiler. that would make this the very 1st and only Twincharged Challenger.

Maybe they are going to adopt the Panoz/Bugatti "limited edition" setup and have countless one-off versions. I can see it already, "Dodge unveils 2016 Challenger Hellcat Predator X", it will of couse just be the regular x, but with a slightly different paint job.

But one important note, This isnt by Dodge Nor SRT.

I'm pretty sure the 5.7 in the Rams, GC's etc. will survive, at least longer than the 6.4 and Hellcat. The article makes no mention of the 5.7, just the 6.4 & 6.2 s/c SRT V8s.

I heard Dodge is dropping all kinds of stuff for a more SRT-oriented lineup aimed at a younger audience. Among those things getting dropped is the Caravan (next year) and a few others. People are expecting Dart SRT-4's and the like, even though from what I've been told, there won't be anymore V8's after 2018.

EDIT:

Here's some interesting info. The Dart is getting a makeover, a subcompact hatch is expected and the Dart is getting an SRT version, while the Journey CUV is also getting an SRT version
