When you consider how heavy the IRS unit is over the live axle, I'd say 55/45 is more realistic.

Of course this is pure speculation. We won't know for a while.

I'd expect the Ecoboost turbo's weight distribution to be pretty good. That tiny engine (aluminum block?) with the added weight of IRS in the rear will hopefully add balance to a car that has been nearly 60/40 since the Fox body.

Only the big deck and/or supercharged porkers (Cobra R, Terminator, GT500) approached that particular milestone since the New Edge.

Doesn't sound like a V8 to me. If it is, it's a V8 with 180 degree headers. Though I can't imagine a 4 cylinder mustang needing tires that big.
There's no turbo sound in that exhaust at all. That's virtually impossible to hide.

It's probably going to be lighter overall because the suspension arms, differential and mounts will all be aluminum. That's not the case with the live axle.

My brother has a Focus ST. You never hear the turbo. Inside nor outside. It is inaudible.

In fact, the car in that video sounds very similar to this ST with FRPP catback:

With this discussion on what RON fuel the Mustang will take, It's always struck me as odd that in Europe our standard fuel is 95 RON, while the standard fuel in America is 87 RON. Why don't you get a higher octane rating as standard? It would certainly get rid of issues like this and petrol would still be dirt cheap.

It's not the same system of measurement. America uses AKI/PON, which is (RON+MON)/2. Here's the Wiki entry that details the two methods. Otherwise, here are also a couple of Famine's many explanations on this topic.

Mustang's trunk is big enough. But have you seen the sizes of trunks these days? They're ENORMOUS. lol. That's why I joked about it. The Camaro is absolutely pathetic though. Still a huge trunk but the opening is like a port hole.

I agree. My dad recently traded in the SRT-4 for a Challenger R/T. Not to mention the car is gigantic the trunk is just as big.

So. Just seen the Mustang advertised on British TV for the first time. **** just got real 👍

In other news. GT350?

That $1090 price increase makes a lot of sense. Better materials inside and out, proper rear suspension, a lot of "upscale" standard equipment that wasn't in the outgoing model. I'm totally game for that. Although, I'd be great to know how much of a premium that EcoBoost engine will carry. For almost every other car in their lineup, it seems to be right around $1000, and assuming they keep a similar pricing for the Sport Package, you'd probably be able to pick one up for right around $27k out the door - Give/take the same price as a Subaru BRZ Limited.

But, man, when the inevitable incentives come along in the spring/summer of 2015, these things are going to be a hell of a deal.

The above render has me thinking. That camo'd car on the previous car with the GT500-esque body platform upgrades....could it be a GT350 powered by an Ecoboost V6? Perhaps something like 500hp from the TT V6? That could be really awesome. Mere speculation, of course.

I wonder what the 201A option for the Ecoboost is? Nearly $6,000 premium over the base ecoboost. Nearly 400+hp GT price. I wonder if it's luxury or performance options. Hmmmm

Seeing the poster on the previous page, it reminded me:

I got to handle this little ad at work last week. It's a gold foil print on authentic handmade Nepalese Lokta paper to celebrate Chinese New Year a few months back. Thought it was very cool of Ford of Canada to do, though I was terrified of ruining it...

I can't wait for the inevitable BreezFreez vs Mustang Ecoboost tests, given their price proximity.

If they haven't announced them by this point they must be pretty close to what they actually are.

Ya wouldn't be surprised if the power figures don't change. I think we'll see updated power in 2016, sort of like how the 2010 redesign pretty much carried over the motors from 05-09 and then they brought new motors in 2011.
