I hope it isn't a sign of things to come. We don't need $250,000 Mustangs that are underperforming maintenance nightmares like the namesake.
That F-35 Lightning inspired Mustang kinda reminds me of the P-51 edition Roush Mustang made a few years back:

This is the one I loved.

Dos wheels doe. Hang on, a Mustang at Nurburgring? Got high hopes for this one lol.
Forgeline. Dayton, OH represent!

What is with people doing this now? Is it the next internet fad? I find it highly annoying.
Why you so grumpy doe.

So that's the origin of the "dat _______ doe" jokes. I always wondered that.
I don't think it is. Black people just tend to say "doe" instead of "though". This is just an example of lazy pronounciation that has proliferated for some reason. It's probably related to the "dat ass" thing, or the use of the word "dat" in general. Saying "dat ass doe" is more catchy than "That ass, though."

Ford does pipe the desired frequencies into the cabin and leaves out the less desirable sounds. So while it's technically more real than say BMW pumping sound through the stereo, there's still a little sound trickery going on.

Sounds like any decently quick four-cylinder. When you've grown up with them in family cars, they really do sound very out of place in a bastion of Americana.

So I got a chance to see a 2015 Mustang GT. The front honestly looks awful, the bonnet is too high and the grille and headlights are actually kind of ugly. The back end, though, is pure sex.

That reminds me of a time when I was standing beside a two-lane highway, and I heard what I assumed was a Civic or similar, getting thrashed up to the 55mph limit. When I turned to look, it was actually a fatass crossover.

With it being a slushbox in that video, I have to admit the slurred shifts (and low RPM?) make the Mustang sound similarly pedestrian.

I was surprised it sounded as mean as it did. Almost, ALMOST V8-ish.

Maybe it's me but haven't you ever noticed that cars with half the cylinders tend to sound or have some similarities in sound to an engine twice its size. For example the V4s sound like higher pitch smaller V8s even tuned inline fours sound a bit like V8s. I think the best examples are V6s tuned and 5cyl that when tuned sound quite similar to a V12 or V10.

In some cases the crankshafts and balancing share commonalities. A V6 is similar to a pair of inline triples, a flat-plane V8 is a pair of I4s, a V10 is a pair of I5s, and a V12 is a pair of I6s. The last one is related to why it's pointless to make a boxer-12.

That's different from what I mean. Ferrari's 12-cylinder "boxers" were a misnomer. They built flat-12s, which are just 180-degree V12s. Even the Porsche 917 had a V12-style crankshaft. :)

A nearby neighbor of mine has an Abarth 500. Makes my day a bit better when he pulls out onto the road I live on because he floors it every time.

We''ll have to see the price range down here in Australia. BRZ owner's won't be happy having paid $42k(even with standard free 3year servicing covered under warranty), if a Mustang Turbo under cuts that.

I think it's V6 & V8 only though.

Put a nice exhaust on an inline-5 Chevy Colorado and it sounds just like a V10.

People are surprised the Ecoboost can sound decent? What, are Abarth 500's really that rare?
These sound quite nice.

Are MINI Cooper S's just as rare, then?

Listening to that, it sounds even better than Gojira... nice job from the sound engineers, Ford. :D

Performance estimates. The I4 Ecoboost is estimated at a 0-60 of 5.3 seconds with a 13.8 second 1/4 mile, same with the V6, though a 14 second 1/4 mile is expected, while the GT is expected to run 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and run the 1320 in 12.8. Both are just slightly faster than the outgoing 2014 car. The Ecoboosts power comes on stronger and lower in the RPM range, giving it better out of the hole performance than the V6. The GT is expected to perform as well as the Boss 302, if not better, around a track. However, the GT is up a full 100 lbs more than the outgoing 2014 GT.

More track pics here.
