Should be a better race car. Cant wait to see it in race trim. Im having mixed feelings. I wasnt too happy about the SN95 because it was a dramatic change feom the Fox-body. But, that grew on me because of the SCCA race cars, etc. When it goes on sale here in Oz, itll appeal to people moving up from the 86, Z and Sciroccos. I cant see anyone here trading in a TT, S5 or a 135i for a Mustang.

I wonder how Roland Dane is going to get the Mustang in V8s for 2016/2017.

If a GT500 or whatever top of the line model looks sexy as all hell I'd seriously consider it. I already like the '14 ZL1 and Z28.

Being a Britain, i think this would sell well in Uk with that 2.3T and independent suspension (very curvy bouncy roads here) it looks global and has traits from all across the world. I was in uproar with the focus because they made that global too but it grew on me.

Really does remind me on that EVOS concept. Any word of a name change for Europe?

It looks fantastic. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed when I heard the Mustang would be moving away from the retro look but every since the artist impressions and leaks started to appear I've been more and more excited to see the real thing. I hope it does well in Australia, I can't wait to see some on the road and I hope even more that Matech get their hands on it to create a successor to their previous GT3 spec Fords.

It looks like it's trying to be retro but at the same time it trying to be modern. The look is just odd ( that could be cause way the pic was taken from magazine).
The shape of the rear quarter glass looks weird.

Quite like this. About as good as I was hoping for the Mustang. There are some clever touches in there. If anything, it's the best interpretation yet of the original 'Stang I've seen - that screen grab with the original and new car side-by-side shows a lot of individual touches have been carried across. Including the general lack of bulk, which is surprising for a car with such a small DLO.

Interior is possibly the only aspect I'm not keen on. Would have been nice to see something a bit simpler - it looks like they've tried to cram a lot of stuff onto the dash.

You've seen it?

Yessir! It has a wider looking stance than what these images of images show.

I really like the fastback style. Seperates it further from it's old retro body.

Not bad. Did they say they were gonna ditch the retro look? The silhouette is still partially reminiscent of the 60s Mustangs to me, and I'm glad about it. Still, at first glance it has more relevance to the styling cues of the fifth-gen. models.

It's a bit too bulky in some shots, being more meaty than muscular, but it's still very likable. I think the roof and side windows as one particular unit look too small compared to the rest of the car.

But, I actually prefer the previous one.

My dad works at the Flat Rock assembly plant- where the mustangs are built- and he says it looks better in person than it does in the pictures, along with a wider stance. (as DeathSmiles mentioned) I haven't seen it in person yet, but I can't wait to.

I don't see any MII.

Perhaps over there. But so long as people aren't functioning with a hefty dose of badge snobbery, I can definitely see this stealing a few sales from the Audis, and possibly the 135i too. The TT doesn't have a patch on it from a performance stand-point (unless you want to pony up (ha!) massive piles of cash for the RS), and the V8 will happily demolish an S5. The 135i is quite a lot smaller (and replaced next year), like the TT come to think of it, but the 128i versus EcoBoost 'Stang would be quite an interesting comparison, IMO.

Accord Coupe roofline, is that you?!

That's some extreme rake, but still, I like it. It's a clean design, and if it really has lost 200lbs, my hat's off to Ford. The whole retro tune that this, the Camaro, and the Challenger were playing this past decade can only work for so long until, as @niky said, you end up with the new Mini - and that's just awful. Good on Ford for making something that's simultaneously identifiable as a Stang, yet classier than the cars that came before it. I can see this appealing more to mainland Europe than the last one ever did - I feel like the current model only ever appeals to those looking for some stereotypical, cowboy hat-wearing symbol of 'Murica (hiya, Hammond).

The headlamps definitely help with the look of a wider car; VW applied the same thinking to the MK VI Golf over the 5, and it looks like a much wider vehicle.

Be careful about what you post about family, especially if NDAs are involved.

Yeah I don't see how there would be an issue. He isn't given out names, photos, or any significant information that might cause even more of an uproar.

This is confirmed to be the base model car.

Potential GT3 car. Concept at the moment.

If the production car looked like a de-race-ified version of this I would be much, much, much more impressed, even if it has kind of silly headlights.

It would look extremely European that way. Would have been interesting to see reactions to that though.
