I was more into running 2 races of 90mins instead of Q sessions... It's all more about consistency and not crashing, not about lapping like crazy, crashing, ghosting back retrying and so on for 90 mins until the magic lap comes :D

Also racing would prove a good way to test connections... In any case we'll inform all of you guys very soon.

We will sort that out after this season end i think best Karsten.

I'd like to sign up if I may 👍

GTP Malcolm Tucker / PSN glenn_cullen

Just wondering how you plan to pair drivers for teams if the driver is unknown? I'd put myself in the slower camp but I don't know many drivers here.

11 Teams & car numbers

Teams
Teams of 2 cars can be formed running the same colours.
Drivers must request formation of the team from the stewards on this forum.
Ideally the teams should be formed from a known "fast" and "slower driver"
These details will be finalised as we near the 1st official test race.
This would be ideal to to share car setups and would assist race craft.
The stewards would always try to be fair in allowing team formation.
The final points standing of both drivers would be the teams final points.

Numbers
After the 1st test race all divers issued with driver numbers for the series.

Logic, I noticed last night that there's a typo in the club's name on GT6, not sure if it can be changed but wanted to let you know.

Added you and Karsten today 👍 I need an invite to the club in order to join though. The typo is storagtrunk as opposed to storagetrunk

Wow, cant even put my own website address in correctly, disgraceful. thanks for letting me know, i will change that later today.

You can go in yourself re community club id 1016608

but if you have now added me as a friend, i can send you an invite in an hour or so.

Thanks Malcolm, by the way, i am sure there will be several regulars in their tonight, and will probably have a bit of testing and practice races at Rome, our first test race.

 Hopefully you can change it :nervous: I won't be able to make it tonight but I'll be on most days this week 👍 I tried to join the club but it's restricted to invites only, I'm not totally sure how it works but I guess it's set up that way or I'd need to be friends with you before I can join? I guess we'll find out soon :)

I still can't understand the 26 drivers and 3 reserve signups. What is the thoughts behind this?
We will do the same thing as we have recently.

To ensure we have good full grid every week.

The 12 points leaders will be locked in.

the other 14 will pre qualify for the extra 4 slots to join the 12 locked in drivers.

Then the 10 that are left can have a race in another room, which will be a non championship race, but still a race nontheless as they will have spent time training etc so will want to race after a week of training.

The 3 reserves are there to fill in any vacant places, and they can also take place in the non championship race, so the numbvers will then be up to 13 in that room if everyone turns up.

The idea is to make it as competitive as possible.

I was originally the one that oversold the last series, and we had to have pre qualy for that for the last 4 races , which actually was quite extciting, however, everal of us had enough points to be in lockin places each week.
As this new series is starting with all drivers, there will be no certain lockin places for regulars, and i may well fin myself in regular prequalifying battles, as might quite a few of us.

However at least there will now be a race for the people that dont get through to the main race.

So your question, "what is the thought behind this"
well i guess its a sponsered weries with prizes.
The more people involved the better for the sponser.
The more people involved the fuller the grids, and also more competive the series i guess.

Tell me your thinking on it Flank ?

I just had a few things I couldn't work out.

Does that mean the first 12 of last season start round one of this even though it's totally different cars abd tuned, if not how will it be decided? If so then that's a little unfair on the rest don't you think?

14 people competing for only 4 spots does seem a bit tight but I guess if you need stewards to oversee the race then you need to keep 2 spots free in the Pre-Qualifying lobby.

Why not have it be:
  • 10 lock-ins.
  • 14 pre-qualifiers.
  • __ reserves after that.
That way you have 14 people competing for 6 spots instead of 4, which seems a little more fair.

As for the non-championship race(s), if one does not qualify for the main race, do they have to compete in the non-championship event?
I can see why somebody who put in hours of practice would want to do so but at the same time it could feel like there's no point in racing if there's nothing "on the line".

I have a suggestion but it would alter the points system a bit.

Hmm it's tuff, I guess ultimately whoevers on the outside of the lock in's will always have a different view to those who would be locked in every week.

I think what @BAZZER wants to know, as do I is how the first round is decided without any standings of yet.

I think @PJTierny has a little point, in PreQ fighting for 6 spots instead of 4... That's one thing I found in the last few round where preQ was introduced was that there were very few spots to try and get to be in the main race.

Valid points to both PJ and pubes.
To be honest I happy with 10 lockin , that means the pre qualy would have 16 drivers With no room for live stewarding but I am happy if every one else is .
Karsten and Sken ? Let me know.

As for 1st race lockins . These will be decided after the 2nd test race .
After the 1st test race all drivers will get given their race numbers for the series and also be invited to request team formation on the forum .

Do you mean the result of test race 2 decides the locked in drivers?

Just to give you more options, a few series I've raced in recently had different ways of sorting the racers for the main room are as follow -

1 - Each driver has 3 laps, 1 out lap, 1 fast lap and 1 in lap. All results are put in order and the fastest 12 or however many you choose go into the locked in positions. This has positives and negatives as anyone can put in a fast lap but also make a mistake and it's game over.

2 - You have 5 or 6 laps, 1 out lap 3 or 4 timed laps and an in lap. All the timed laps are added together and put in the leaderboard. This will then reward the consistant drivers and be a fairer option overall instead of option 1.

I'm easy with whatever you come up with and will go with any decision but just throwing options around.

Why not just have 2 race lobbies, and give points from 1st to last across the 2 rooms?

If you're having a second lobby for non-championship anyways why not make that room be "lobby 2" and have lower points, while giving those in Lobby 1 some extra points to play for?
