The start of the race puts an end to combined room times for a start. Unless you go back to grid start.

And what happens if one room has a pile up and safety car is called?

Is there even a safety car procedure for 2 or more damage calls at the start of the race? So people can pit and fix the problem?

Last edited:
There is not safety car procedures along the race, cars can "limp" back to boxes in case of extreme crashes.

Pileups are something i can't imagine on a 90 mins heavy damage serie >_>

in any case none of these are part of rules, we'll just ipotethically speaking

I mean 1st lap incidents, a race can be ruined in lap 1 and with no restart/safety car procedure you can be a lap down before the end of lap 2. Something quite important to think about in a heavy damage series. Probably one of the most important.

5 Race start procedure

Safety Car - pace car start.
Qualying as nomal

Race starts
with pole sitter going off the line slowly and increasing speed very gradually over the lap.
All cars follow single file - NO OVERTAKING - keeping a 3 -4 car lengths distance spacing.
!st sector should be made at no more than 70 mph.
2nd sector at no more than 120 mph.
from last corner throgh to start line should be accelerating at full speed.
Going over the start line the lead driver should be at full speed if there are no problems.
No car can overtake until after the start line.
Any driver taking any advantage will have points deducted.

2nd Lap Pace car -Safety car
If any driver see lag after half the lap he can message SC - he will not loose position as the cars behind cannot overtake - the leader will see this and type OK in response.
The leader will then slow right down and allow the cars to close up again making it fair for the drivers that have slowed a lot when they messaged SC.
The lead car will continue and repeat the procedure for a second lap.

That's all well and good logic but nowhere does it cover 1st lap collisions, if there is no procedure then soneones race can be ruined in lap 1.

At least there's about q month to get all the rules spot on.

Also flank, the pace car lap is a far better way than others. we have used it in many many practice races already and its good.
Everyone will know the procedeure - read it again slowly,

I'm not saying that logic, I think the pace start lap is a great idea as it will cut out first corner incidents by a massive percentage. My concern was having combined room results with a pace lap, because both races don't have identical speed and lap times so the combined results won't be fair.

Room 1 could do the pace lap at 1.30 and room 2 could take 2.00. Then the combined results will be 30 seconds out for example, making the overall results unfair. See where I'm coking from?

Pace lap times can always be subtracted and discarded from the final overall times this shouldnt significantly affect the results unless one rooms pace lap is a whole lap slower. This is quite simple to do off the replah data .

Dont worry, i will post a failsafe system later today that is fair for all.

Hi Gtrules,

I have invited you to the series community club.

Please ensure you psn friend and ftp follow race stewards and as many in the series as you can.

We are all in the clubby lobby and practice setup and have short 40 minute races quite a lot.

To all new series entrants , we have spent many hours calculating and adjusting and are very nearly ready to go public.
If all of you would please read through slowly and carefully the totally new and updated series regs and rules, as i am sure there are some of you that will find an oversight, PJ i know you will , LOL, but anyone please post back anything that is unclear, unfair, un understandalble or undeniably rubbish before you get too drunk. Thanks you.

Driving standards and points penalties
We want this to be a Non contact series, as with heavy damage, even a little nudge can lead to a huge loss of time for any abuse of this rule.

Driving penalties handed to drivers in this series will be very harsh.

All drivers will be expected to drive with due care and consideration to other drivers.
With heavy damage on, any sort of contact will be looked at by the stewards if reported.
Bumping cars ahead and causing them to run wide or rubbing alongside cars and forcing them
to run wide and gaining any advantage must be rectified by giving back any position gained.
2 wheels must on the track at all times and cutting corners excessively will be punished by time harsh penalties added to the race time of that driver.

Any avoidable accident willl be reveiwed and will points deducted at the stewards discresion.

5 Race start procedure

Safety Car - pace car start.
Qualying as nomal

Race starts
with pole sitter going off the line slowly and varying speed very gradually over the lap.
All cars follow single file - NO OVERTAKING - keeping a 3 -4 car lengths distance spacing.
!st sector should be made at no more than 70 mph.
2nd sector at no more than 120 mph.
3rd sector slowed down to 50 mph to wait for people who have messaged problems, and then
from last corner through to start line should be accelerating at full speed.

6 Qualifying System

Qualifying sessions can take place between Wednesday 19:00 uk time and Sunday 19:00 uk
There are 3 reasons for this.

1 The previous race results will not be posted until Wednesday and the drivers need to know their Championship standings to know their car weight for the next event.

2 Some tracks are running real weather settings & these will not be forcast until the Wednesday.

3 Stewards will also be racing and would like Mondays with no stress or rush so they can concentrate on their own pre race practice.

Official Qualifying sessions will be held with stewards in the club room on
Wednesdays from 18:00 - 19:00 uk
Fridays from 18:00 - 19:00 uk
Sundays from 18:00 - 19:00 uk cut off time for posting on forum.

Also private Qualifying sessions can be arranged with stewards on the forum.

No qualifying time can be posted after 19:00 uk on Sundays as the official Qualifying positions will be listed and posted.

Private Qualifying sessions
The session will be organised by the driver requesting a qualifying session on the forum by posting the time available for the session.
The Stewards will confirm the session and have the room open and set up in the club lobby with all the correct room settings for the single driver to qualify.
The Steward cannot be a team mate of the qualifyer.

The qualifying run will be started from the pits with full fuel and new tyres.
The run will be made at the drivers car weight listed re championship position.
The run will consist of an out lap and in lap and 2 flying laps in between.
Only the best 2 flying laps will be timed.
The best time will be posted on the forum by the steward.
If the driver crashes, the lap time acheived still stands.
Only one session attempt will be made by each driver.
If there is a disconnect by the driver then best time or no time is posted, the seesion will not be rerun.
If the hosting stewards server Disconnests then it can be re run from the start.

During the session the Steward will observe the laps and if in any doubt will watch a reply to ensure no corner cutting and no track limit violations are made.
Any and each violation will have a 15 second time penalty added top the time.
The steward will then post the drivers psn name with the fastest of the 2 flying lap times made with the added time penalties if a violation has occured.
The expected post would be

PSN mr slow cutter lap 2 1m 27.782 + 2 violations total time 1m 57.782

These times will be put into a list until the qualifying cut off time on the Sunday before the race at 1700 UK time

9 Teams & car numbers

Teams
Teams of 2 cars can be formed running the same colours.
Drivers must request formation of the team from the stewards on this forum.
Ideally the teams should be formed from a known "fast" and "slower driver"
These details will be finalised as we near the 1st official test race.
This would be ideal to to share car setups and would assist race craft.
The stewards would always try to be fair in allowing team formation.
The final points standing of both drivers would be the teams final points.

Numbers
After the 1st test race all divers issued with driver numbers for the series.

I sent a friend request to azidahaka instead of karsten :ouch::dunce:

Will anyone be on tomorrow? I should be around all day
Yes i am sure, i will during the day up until 2pm uk, if you post when you go on i am sure there will be soemone joining you.
Karsten and azidahaka are one and the same, so should be fine i guess.

You can always go in the club lobby yourself and set up a room, all the room settings are listed in my last post, and all the track particulars are listed also.
Most of us have been spending time getting to know Rome, and we have been testing and having 40 minute test races,
i am sure you will get people join you, especially if you make the room public, its a good way to tell new poaple about the series if they show an interest.

Thanks yeh I'll post when I'm on. I still need to look at all this club stuff as well, do you find it easier than before? Can anyone in the group start a practice event or is it just the club owner? It would be ideal if anyone could just jump into the club rather than faff about in the lobby.

Do you have a plan for how room 2 will be hosted and stewarded yet? With the current amount of sign ups it probably won't be needed as it is but I'm interested in what your plan is 👍

You should be able to get into the community club i set up, anyone can that has been invited, as you have, or you can search for the club with the id club id 1016608

Once you are there you can create a room - you will have to edit all the settings to those listed on the regs and rules i posted earlier, but once that is done you can save them for quick loading next time, just make sure that you set the club to public before you vreate the room as it wont let that change once the room is launched.

So yes anyone who knows the club id or has been invited can go into the club and start a room, most regulars look their first to see if anyone is online before they start their own room.

Is it easier than before ? maybe yes, nut i dont think its all that user friendly, as often people dont see they have been invited, and i am not the best person to ask, a sort of blunder around and always find my way in in the end, but if you asked me to explain i am not sure i could.

Entrants stand at 18 at the moment, howver it has not yet gone public, once it does it seems that it will fill quickly.
I myself have been promoting it to drivers that come in the room and show an interest in racing, i then send them a pre saved psn message re copy and paste psn message, " that can only be done befor et gt6 is launched " then i find their psn id andd send them it.
It tells them about the series and where to come to sign up.

The 2 rooms hosting should not be a problem, i am sure we will find stewards who will host, i am a bit worried that i may find myself in race room 2 quite a lot, so i may be a regular hoster of that, not my plan but i am even slower in qualy than i am in race mode.

As for race room 1 there will always be Sken up there i am sure, but we will have 8 stewards so ideally they would be best to host.

Brilliant I should be able to wrap my head around that 👍

I've raced with Skeng a fair bit and I'm always a second of his pace, sometimes 2 seconds lol, so I've already resigned myself to being in room 2 probably most of the time. I was thinking that this doesn't bother me at all, I'm just here to enjoy myself and never expect to win anything so I could put myself forward as a room 2 steward/host. I wouldn't mind being in room 2 for the whole season, the only problem is if the room only has a few of us in it then it may be hard to find the enthusiasm to race only 4 or 5 people for 90 mins every week. The only way out of that I can see is to split between the rooms equally eg if we had 20 confirmed drivers for a round then you would have the top 10 in room 1 and 11-20 in room 2. The problem with that is room 1 will be affected negatively
