Maybe it was...becoming a BMW hater now since they've abandoned the way's of Natural Aspiration. :P

You hate ANYTHING that isn't normally-aspirated, like its some sort of offense towards your religion.

Unless it's a Bentley, Champcar, Indycar, McLaren 12C GT3 or any pre-2000's turbo...it is disgusting. :P Those mentioned exceptions use turbos in such a way that the car becomes a wild crazed animal. The Ford GT GTE is another exception.

Porsche 919 Hybrid. 1300hp from a 4 cylinder. Cheers, thanks, bye. ;)

Meanwhile BMW are lazy as ****, don't really care about regulations, and are taking the M6 GT3 and doing a half *** job at turning it into a GTE-esc car for IMSA to qualify as GTLM. The M6 GTLM being a one off for the IWSC, possibly also allowed for the ELMS. Why they don't make an actual GTE is beyond me, heck, just do the 488 GTE/GT3's concept. They're extremely stubborn and whiny. :P

GT3's are sold by BMW Motorsport as customer cars, there is a far better business case for putting your efforts into a GT3 than there is a GTLM/GTE. Besides that, all the cars are built to regs, and the level of effort put into building the GTLM will be validated (or not) by it's successes (or lack of).

Maybe BMW just isn't interested in Le Mans like Ferrari is? The "BMW is lazy" claims are silly, not everyone is interested in Le Mans.

Indeed...

Klaus Frolich (BMW R & D)
"Le Mans is certainly interesting, but around the world for specific groups – for example for China as one of the major markets – is not really relevant"

Ive had to do numbers like that on a friend's wife's skyline when they forgot numbers

I would've thought a cheap stencil and some cheap paint would've done the trick instead of just tape.

2 cars for Turner http://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/t...-curtis-to-split-two-full-season-bmw-m6-gt3s/ but no Merc GT due to production demands. http://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/new-mercedes-amg-gt3-ruled-out-of-rolex-24-debut/

3-4 Lambos
3- 911's
3- R8's
2- BMW M6
1- Aston Martin
1- Viper
and the NAEC extra entries and ???
Well Mercedes did say it was all up in the air for Daytona, they'll probably be at Sebring and then be in the rest of the season.

14 cars chaps! :D

I'm wondering what Audi is getting out of this arrangement?

Probably nothing. They've always been fairly open when it comes to letting their drivers race outside of the program as long as it doesn't conflict with their Audi commitments.

Yeah, Lotterer was still technically a Toyota factory driver for awhile after he was lighting the track on fire with Audi's.

In the first pic that Ganassi mechanic looks smug somehow.

Second pic, glorious Merc' there.

Third pic, LOOK AT THAT UPGRADED CORVETTE DOE! That body, the wing and what looks like rocket boosters or what I suspect to be more exhaust or something.

Mazda's new gas-powered turbo 4-cylinder P2 is delightfully loud. Joey Hand (ABOVE) has been lapping in the Ford GT, and more of his teammates are on pit lane watching. Ryan Briscoe and Sebastien Bourdais are there, in shorts, while Dirk Muller is suited and ready. Along with Olivier Pla, Marino Franchitti, and Richard Westbrook, most of the known driving team is present.

Two pieces of Ford news: The Blue Oval is planning to formally announce its drivers next weekend in Homestead at the NASCAR season finale. RACER has also learned driver pairings for the two IMSA Ford GTs have yet to be set. It's not ready to be confirmed, but the Chip Ganassi Racing team is preparing to field two Ford EcoBoost DPs at the Rolex 24 in an effort to defend its overall win in January.

Of note elsewhere, Team Penske's Simon Pagenaud is with the Action Express Racing team in the No. 31 entry. Pagenaud (RIGHT, with Ford's Bourdais) and the No. 31's Dane Cameron were former teammates at Team Sahlen's for the Rolex 24 in 2013.

Oh FFS, VIR round moved 1 week from Aug 21 so it wont conflict with the Rolex sportscar reunion and Laguna Seca. Good thing it doesnt conflict with any other racing of cars that are not show cars now. :banghead:

28 August, Virginia International Raceway (GTLM, GTD), IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
27/28 August, Utah Motorsport Campus, Pirelli World Challenge
27/28 August, Budapest*, Sprint, Blancpain GT Series
27/28 August, Sydney Motorsport Park, Australian GT Endurance Series
27/28 August, Paul Ricard, Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup
28 August, Paul Ricard, European Le Mans Series
28 August, Suzuka Circuit, Super GT

:boggled:

Even though it has Michelin decals next to the dive planes this is the GTD car. Note the Turner equipment and the difference in the wing end plates with the 25 GTLM in the background.

Got to love the Z4 jack in the Turner pit.

The Mazda actually works?
