Jose Mourinho gets a £50,000 fine in relation to comments made about ref Anthony Taylor before the Liverpool last month, and a one match touchline ban for using abusive and/or insulting language towards a match official, said to be ref Mark Clattenberg, at half time in the Burnley game last weekend, he will serve the ban away to Swansea on Sunday.

Cant help but feel that he has got off lightly here, he is a serial offender....

This makes my blood boil, I hate FIFA so much.

They are so out of touch with reality, it makes you wonder if they even know how to take a piss.

It doesn't make my blood boil quite as much. I can understand partially where FIFA are coming from. They don't want a slippery slope where other remembrences which are politicised could be incorporated into a national jersey or irredentist claims; Greater Hungary, Greater Serbia, Mother Russia and so on. Some fixtures like Russia vs Ukraine or Greece vs Turkey or Serbia vs Albania are already contentious affairs.

But for England, Scotland and Wales, if that is what each FA wants to do then they should just do it anyway. In cases like this it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. And it would be better to use common sense but this is FIFA we're talking about.

It seems to be lost on the Zurich bigwigs that prohibiting the poppy symbol or armband actually does turn it into a political issue whereas if they had left it alone it wouldn't have been. There are people out there who believe that the poppy has become appropriated by some quarters and others believe that it is unfair to glorify the British Army given its track record in certain countries.

It's really simple:

Wear a poppy if you want to
Don't wear one if you don't want to

Or am I an island lost in a sea of madness?

Here's this weekend's games, and its a little messed up this weekend...

Saturday
Bournemouth v Sunderland
Burnley v Crystal Palace
Chelsea v Everton (5.30 BT)
Man City v Middlesbrough
West Ham v Stoke

Sunday
Arsenal v Tottenham (12pm BT)
Hull v Southampton
Liverpool v Watford (2.15 Sky)
Leicester v West Brom (4.30 Sky)
Swansea v Man United

So five games on Saturday and five on Sunday, reasons why are because of teams that were in Europe on Thursday night and they cant have a MNF this week because its international break next week, neither Hull v Saints or Swansea v United are televised on Sunday, big North London derby this weekend, also the first round of the FA Cup is on too with BBC and BT sharing the games.

Some shock results today, City 1-0 up and comfortable against Middlesbrough until Van Der Roon scored a late equalizer and it finished 1-1, Sunderland managed to beat Bournemouth despite being down to 10 and Burnley beat Palace 3-2, Chelsea v Everton on next....

Arsenal v Spurs was a good game, finished 1-1 and both teams went for it, loads of chances, Liverpool currently giving Watford a beating 3-0 at half time, Swansea v Man United just kicked off.

@Famine are you doing an FA Cup thread this year??

United 0-1 up with a great strike from Pogba, Southampton also winning 0-1 against Hull with Austin's penalty.

East Kilbride (Lowland League) have earned themselves 27 cases of beer by unofficially breaking a record set in the 1971/72 season by the Ajax of Cruyff.

They've won 27 games in a row, breaking Ajax' record of 26 wins. Ajax sent the cases together with a video message by van der Sar.

United now 0-2 up through Zlatan, who scores the 25,000th Premier League goal.

That is incredible. Some effort by EK.

Celtic now lead SPFL by 10 points with a game in hand as Hearts draw, Rangers draw and Aberdeen jump back into 2nd with a 2-1 win at Patrick Thistle.

Celtic won 3-0 with the sixth domestic clean sheet in a row.

Liverpool very impressive in a 6-1 thumping over Watford, they are now top of the table for the first time since 2014, Unnited 0-3 against Swansea so far, Leicester v West Brom on next, Hull turned it around to beat Southampton 2-1..

Liverpool may have a suspect defence, but if they can smash in more goals at the other end consistently, then they should be fine. Of course, it will come to bite them at some point (Such as the Burnley match), but this is impressive.

Whereas the Burton team he left not only still got promoted from League One but are just one place below QPR in the Championship at the moment.

5th November - Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (Queen's Park Rangers, sacked) Championship

Sackings: 9
Resignations: 4

Total: 13

Paul Lambert is new Wolves boss, not a bad choice...

Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a new deal at Real Madrid until 2021 for a reportedly weekly wage of 365k, Gareth Bale signed a massive new deal recently with has got a £900 million release clause!

Very interesting data, never knew Guerreiro would be that high up given that he is a full back.

So something caught my eye this week in a newspaper that's seems interesting if its true, it was apparently in the Daily Mail this week but i saw it on Twitter...

Now this is only reported but its about Red Bull, now as we know that as well as being a massive drinks company, Red Bull also own some sports teams and this includes Football, they currently own Salzburg, New York in the MLS, Brasilio in South America and more recently there has been the phenomenal rise of Red Bull Leipzig in the Germany, now there are reports that they are scouting in England for a club to take over here, they are looking at clubs in the Premier League, Championship and League One with Charlton and Swindon said to be possibilities.

Now these are only reports but i just want to get your thoughts on this if it happens....

I have no problem with it, more quality sides the better.
I wouldn't be sure on if the fans will be happy about it....

-----

Cristiano needs to take notes from Emil Forsberg. Same posture but Forsberg knows how to at least get it on target.

So long as there is no issue with that I don't mind, It's probably more a German thing though with there model of 50% +1 fan ownership which RB Leipzig have manoeuvred around, in England that doesn't apply, and would be similar to MK Dons only with more potential of success, besides I would assume they would keep the original name just adding Red Bull to the front of the name.

Adding 'Red Bull' in the club name wouldn't be the only thing but the club badge will have to be completely changed with of course the red bull logo and that will just cause a riot.

Already happened with MK Dons though, so what is the difference. I think it will depend on the club more then anything, if it's one with a big history then I could see it happening but if it's one that has been nowhere for most of it's existence then i doubt there will be too much issue.

Then again if they actually bought MK dons that would be even better especially given the proximity of the team from there actual F1 team base in the same area. But my guess is they will go for a team in a area that has a high catchment for potential supporters, like what they did with Leipzig which is a one city team in a area that hasn't seen Bundesliga football at all since the East and West rejoined.

A big difference. In terms in how much the red bull franchise will take command in the infrastructure of the club due to the amount of investment they are going to commit.

This isn't Germany nor F1, we are talking about but England where most clubs and if not all have what they call 'ultras' which don't take kindly to changes to their supported clubs and if something doesn't go their way to an extent then they will cause a big uproar and will leave the owners in discontent. Also their is no thing as a catchment for potential supporters these days due to the amount of renowned clubs already existing and most supporters only opt to support a club where they have some sort of connection towards.

There is massive differences Between Germany and England so using the two as examples is not the same, England doesn't have a 50% +1 rule and fans in Germany hold this rule in high regard and is one of the biggest reasons why RB Leipzig is getting alot of hate there, in England anyone is free to purchase 100% of any club they want given that the club is willing to sell.

If they purchase a license for a clubs spot and the club they purchased off can still exist then this will probably be the way were minimal tension will occur, if it's done below Football League 2 with semi professional or non professional clubs then who honestly loses?

There is such thing as Catchment, how can you fill a stadium if your based in the wilderness, why do you think all the clubs with high attendances in nearly any country are based in areas with high population, also success brings fans to your stadium and this can be easily proven by attendance numbers of clubs when they are in lower leagues compared to the top leagues.

and a bigger question is how does one be an Ultra for MK dons before they established?

We all know that the likes of Red Bull will definitely not go for a team in a semi-professional league.....

The areas with a high population will already have a concentration of clubs so the likes of filled stadium for newly established side will be unlikely as the area will already have a multitude of teams which have higher statute and much more of history to them and again this is English football league we are talking about where you can throw as much money as you like into a team but you are not guaranteed success.

You heard of AFC Wimbledon?

I will bet my house that if Redbull made a team in London, Birmingham, Manchester etc and got them to the Premier league the stadium will not be empty so long as the performance is high, Success brings fans to your stadium and nearly every club in England has attendances that go along that line, it's proven more by teams that don't sell out every game(ofcourse there are many that will sell out regardless because of the fan base).

Also statistics go against your theory of money doesn't buy success, if you have a big advantage in money over your competition your success over a long period of time will vastly outperform those with much smaller budgets, so long as you maintain that advantage, or even compare that to clubs success before and after they landed a big financial windfall though ownership of a billionaire etc(Chelsea and Manchester City ring any bells).

Im confused, you say Ultras will be the most in disapproval yet when I use an example of a team that buys one, changes the name, logo, Jerseys and moves to a new area with a new stadium they will follow?
