2016 Formula 1 Großer Preis von Österreich

Come on, wait for the replays before you judge who hit who.
Hamilton was NEVER going to be able to drive around the outside of Rosberg. Nobody else has been able to do it there. Ever. Once again, he makes a short-sighted move that results in contact. Even GP3 drivers know that you can't go around the outside there, so why is a three-time World Champion doing it?

Knew there'd be some kind of contact. Kimi drove a good race, pleased for Ferrari.

Hahahahaha You have got to be joking mate.

Nico goofed up under braking. Basic racing, Nico takes a tight line and if Lewis is there on outside he can maximise exit speed and Nico cannot move over.

Doesnt the S2 split start before T2 though? Or is it before T3?

Yellow flags are not per full sector, it's just simplified for us on TV. They have about 20 zones internally and the yellow was a zone or two after where he passed.

You can't be serious. Oh, wait, no, I guess you can. It's a corner on a race track, he can attempt to pass anywhere. If it's not on, he wont' get past, it doesn't mean you can excuse the person on the inside for hitting them. He was 100% entitled to put his car there.

You've hit new levels of desperation.
Show me a successful overtake around the outside of Turn 2, then.

It's far too easy for a defending driver to go in deep and run the attacker out of road. Which is exactly what happened. So please tell me what makes Hamilton so incredibly amazing that he could execute a pass that nobody has ever been able to pull off before.

I wonder how long Toto and Niki will let both race each other like this. Mercedes lost already a lot of points this season because of stuff like that.

Before the all day long pissing contest starts somebody should say Manor managed to get a point.
I'm on top of that one. Great result though.

All Rosberg's fault there. Just went straight on. Anyone who blames Hamilton is out of their mind.

So Wehrlein joins the late Jules Bianchi as the the only Manor/Marussia driver to score points for the team.

You know nothing about racing, that was in no way Hamiltons fault, not even slightly, he ran as wide as physically possible, practically gave Rosberg the entire track and Rosberg still ran into him. At the end of the day, if you have the grip and if you're far enough ahead it's definitely possible to go around the outside there, in fact I'm pretty sure other people did it this race.

So what are you saying, a driver is not allowed to be on the outside of a turn if it's unlikely he'll get by?

I'm sure there was one or two of them in this race alone. I'd make the effort but you'd still argue the point even with photographic evidence. So it's a waste of time.

Might have been deliberate by Rosberg but his front left was starting to go so he might have over-steered wide in to Hamilton, Crowd booing Hamilton...

At first I thought Rosberg just over shot his braking, but on second look that look's a little suspicious. He didn't show any sign of locking up or struggling with the car from the overhead :odd:

Disgraceful. Boos from the crowd to Hamilton. Free spech and all, but that's a bit much. He is an utter 🤬, but that contact wasn't his fault.

Short sighted? Like Rosberg letting Hamilton through and finishing second instead of fourth?

Oh and congrats to Pascal and Manor!
