On first view, I thought it was Tander, but on second view, Coulthard may have actually come across onto Tander as he had some overlap there. Would need to see the replays again. But I feel both drivers are responsible here.

I'd put it at 80% Tander, 20% Coulthard. The only reason Coulthard is coming across on Tander is because Tander was already making contact with him.

Watching the replay from Tander's in-car, he purposely turned into Coulthard. Guilty as charged.

10 grid spots! Ban him from tomorrow all together.

Well, hope the #17 has a good race tomorrow and the #88 doesn't win.

Haha, "You sound like you're on seven cylinders."

Scott still has a chance at the C'hip. Only -427 behind with 750points left.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. On board with Tander, people are saying he turned on purpose, he's turning naturally with the bend until contact is made, once contact is made he turns in order to save himself from crashing. This is going to be Bathurst aftermath all over again.

3 things before I sign off:
  1. 4 of the top 10 were Volvo or Nissan
  2. Might as well put that #1 plate on the 97 car.
  3. Looking forward to the Top 10 shootout tomorrow.

Tander is such a spud. Hope he doesn't land a drive next year.

He had plenty of space to his left to avoid contact, but chose to make contact. Sucks that it rubs of Fabian for tomorrow.

I'm sorry that I enjoy good racing where the results are diverse. God forbid someone likes new drivers and teams winning. Plus, it's a joke. Don't take it so close to heart.

Hey now, he said Red Bull, Lowndes' has Vortex on the side so he doesn't count. ;)
Exactly. I want to see a Lowndes win, just as much as anyone.

Yeah, I'm no Tander fan, but that is not all his fault. Those two have had their fair share of bad blood between themselves, so both would have been pushing the limits of what's deemed as too aggressive.

Odds are extremely unlikely, all SVG needs to do is get 323 points and Scotts season is over, then it is a Red Bull battle depending where Whincup ends up.

:embarrassed:
Please forgive me :scared: I'm so used to Craig being a RB guy & the Caltex thing hasn't fully rubbed off on me yet. :dopey:

Having said that, as I said in an earlier post, now that CL is out of championship contention, I want SVG to take it out. The more points he puts between himself & the #88 now, the better should anything mechanical or not SVG's fault such as stacking in pitlane happen.

Hey, I thought Whincup would have run away with Sandown, Bathurst and today's race. We're seeing anything can happen. Scott won both PI races. He was there at Bathurst when Giz was three places behind. Had Scott finished Bathurst, he may have won or Whincup may have won. Then, people would be saying Whincup has this wrapped up.
Giz is smashing it right now. Looks like no one will catch him. Like I mentioned, Premat hits those tyre bundles like last year... anything can happen. ;)
McLaughlin would need an absolute miracle for him to be in any contention.
See above.

Like you said, there are 750 points left, SVG only needs 323 to knock off Mclaughlin and Mclaughlin needs 427 just to get where he is now. So even if Scott to where SVG is now, it doesn't mean he is contention and won't be leading or even 2nd.

Whincup example is flawed, especially since at Sandown and Bathurst, 88 misfortunes weren't because of racing luck and unpredictably. It was because of the drivers acting like bafoons.

I'm not disputing the simple math. I'm saying anything can and does happen in this series. Whincup had a horrid year last year, but he won nearly every race at the end of the season(didn't help that Frosty had like 10 race wins). Scott could do the same.

Giz doesn't finish tomorrow and Scott is top 3, that closes the gap. We'll see tomorrow.

It's hardly a matter of gap anymore, for Scott, he has to make sure SVG doesn't get 323 points and even then, if SVG does so horrible that he doesn't get the 323 points, Scott isn't the only one.

For Scott to win, he has to rely on every single driver still in range to **** up and not in the Whincup sense because even though Whincup had a horrid year at the beginning, he was still in points range to go by. SVG only needs to worry about himself and make sure he gets enough points to knock everyone else off, it doesn't matter where Scott finishes (he could win all these races), as long as SVG gets 323 points, Scott's got no chance.

That's why Scott winning requires a miracle, SVG doesn't have to rely on where Scott finishes anymore, it's literally a race to the 2997 point mark now and is Scott doesn't get full points the point mark only starts to drop. Scott however does have to worry about where SVG finishes in every race and not only that, he also has to watch for himself.

My only real issue with the incident yesterday was the reckless driving charge*. Yet, Whincup purposely slowing on the racing line (which caused two cars to collide) at Bathurst wasn't?

*Not saying that the reckless driving charge for Tander was wrong but some consistency would be nice.
Fixed that for you. ;)

Hey, lets not get crazy now.

I missed the race yesterday so watching the replay on Fox. Giz is just walking through the field, it just looks too easy for him at the moment.
