Yet, Whincup purposely slowing on the racing line (which caused two cars to collide) at Bathurst wasn't?
What's to say that the charge against Tander wasn't a response to the fallout from Bathurst - ie, that the stewards redefined "reckless driving" for the sake of achieving more consistency?

Yeah, I certainly thought it was done for the weekend. That's a huge effort. I reeeeeeeeeally hope they get a clean, trouble free race today, they deserve a break.

Just saw the accident on the replay. Slam dunk that it was Tander's fault. Ryan Story was right - Tander's career should be over. There's no way a driver with 569 starts to hus name should be making such a reckless move ... but then, it wouldn't be the first time Tander has escorted someone to the barrier.

Yeah, big blow to the #17. That car was quick until the throttle gremlins.

I tell ya, It's never good for a series when one team is winning everything. *cough*F1*cough*. T8 are borderline making this annoying.

Funny that nobody caught when Scotty hit the wall, they were riding with him when it happened, I saw it happen, and nobody said anything. :P

Also, top 6 are Holdens. 👎

Hey at least it's not Jamie winning all the time ;)

I wonder how long it would take for me to get sick of seeing Shane win. I do wish more teams were capable of winning though, it does get a bit repetitive seeing the exact same drivers on the podium all the time. There has been plenty of winners this season but they are never consistent like 888 are.

Every time I change the channel, Fox Sports is talking about the Coulthard-Tander collision.

Is there nothing else for them to discuss?

Holdens are naturally tossable. Ford's have to be driven smoothly(but with Mostert behind the wheel, that goes out the window). The Nissans need this missing power we keep hearing. If there were more Volvos in the field, might be a different story.

It also doesn't help T8 have the fastest, most aggressive drivers on the team.

Don't get me wrong, I would rather see the #1 on the side of Shane's car, but him and Whincup are like Hamilton and Rosberg for me right now.
I understand what you're saying but, the difference between VASC & F1 is only Hamilton & Rosberg have access to that car. Sure the engine is available on terms to other teams for a price but, it's not an open market like VASC.
At least in this category, if you're prepared to write a cheque with the right numbers to the right blokes, you have access to everything you need to be competitive.

So Tander qualifies in the Top 10, gets to take part in the shootout and then take his 10 grid spot penalty :odd:
Am I the only one that thinks there's something wrong with that? If I was 11th, I'd be absolutely livid

On another note, is SVG pioneering a new trend in the way a Supercar is driven?
I'm sure I'm not the only one that's noticed he adjusts his roll bars & brake bias several times over the duration of a lap. Sure the team engineers give him the best car they can for a whole lap but, are we seeing the start of drivers making fine tuning adjustments for specific handling on given corners throughout a lap?
With the formula as close as it is, even the slightest advantage is worth chasing is it not?

Its part of the VASC "we're sorry HRT" policy,

What a lap to watch by Reynolds!

@Pete05 just saw Moffat do that adjustement.
Hey, when Giz did it in QR, it was a sight. Makes the in car more interesting.

Hmm, Tander starts behind Fabs...

This season feels a bit like the 2012 Formula One season where we had a variety of winners for the first half of the season, then in the second half Sebastian Vettel (and Red Bull, incidentally) came back and dominated the last few races.

Hope DJRTP get the main drivers in ASAP.

I figure Baird gets swamped again.

Fiore makes a good jump to battle with Golding.

Owen holds up the field.

I'm thinking Dumbrell and Premature come together. Seems too quiet right now.

I honesty dislike Van Gisburgan much more then Whincup especially over the last season. He just takes out drivers with some very shady overtaking maneuvers (which tends to be covered by Red Bull's quite generous covering from penalties imo). Really can't give any respect to a driver that just flat out admitted to taking another driver out as he did to Reynolds last year because he didn't like being hit from traffic at a busy first corner. He's just an immature idiot when it comes dealing with other drivers.

They can't rightly deny him the ability to take part in the top ten. After all, he could have the pace to be on pole and thus start eleventh, so to stop him from taking part would be to effectively hand him a twenty-place penalty.

Premature

Valid point I suppose.
