Why not all 3 and they are all 1 minute ahead of everyone else for maximum salt :P.
Ohhh Salteeee :yuck:
It's a long shot but, I'd love Lowndes to finish the season in front of JW on the points table. Unfortunately, that's still runner up in the title chase :indiff:

No reason he shouldn't, if Buttercup keeps being shown up by the Cheeseburger double stacking is going to kill that team,

Would be interesting if Premat was to get the 888 w/Ludo, in a couple years time. Doubt Dane would run three cars if Lowndes left though.

I seriously doubt three cars from 888 too.
What I can see happening though is, RD finding an up & comer he has an eye on for the future (for example, should SVG or JW decide to do something else) to 'sit on the bench' as a reserve with a satellite team using 888 equipment.
He'll want to have someone there to slot in at the drop of a hat when the time comes.

One thing I did pick up from the article you linked: Richards is the only co-driver to have a contract for next year. Am I the only one that considers him the weakest link when compared to PD & AP?
The other thing: RD will ask PD if he's happy (to continue). Hmmmm? Considering JW has lost them the last three Bathursts purely to decisions made by JW & not the team, I have some doubts. Certainly nothing wrong with the job PD does. Arguably the best bloke to wear the co-drivers tag.

True, I mean look at the trophies PD missed from doing all that hard work(yes, PD has fallen asleep at the wheel and I'm certainly not a fan, but they were usually fighting on the last lap). Not to bin it. Build a gap. Do as he's told. It does become a slap in the face when you do as the team asks and their star driver doesn't.

There is one stand out driver that RD could have his eye on. His season next year stands to be the test if RD will keep his eye on him or not. People describe him as the next Craig Lowndes (which certainly helps as the trio works as a team. JW, SVG and CL) Scott McLaughlin is 888 biggest threat. Same with SVG in the years previous. 888 want the best drivers that they know will always be constant threats. Chaz Mostert is not one of them. Scotty mac is. It will be DJR's gremlins that upset him if any thing next season

Scott is loyal. Plus, he's looking at a chance to do other series that luckily, Penske are involved. Dane just has one vision. If it doesn't involve Supercars, he doesn't care.

If Scott wins a Bathurst with DJRTP, I'm confident he woudn't care for a DC. Even if RD promised him one.

If Scotty Mac stays here his whole career he will go on to be one of the greats, but I think he knows he has the talent to be one of the greats in almost any category in the world. He truely is the biggest threat to T8 at the moment.

BJR have had a great run with Slade in the #14. Imagine Tander, Slade & Percat. Thing is, if Bright has the REC, could he be mentoring Simona? Might have a better shot at Bathurst with him as her co-driver. If i'm getting ahead of myself, Simona could still be in a Nissan with a GTA driver alongside her.

Bets that Tander replaces him?
Bloody hope not :yuck: That'd be like BJR getting cancer in my book. IMO, his personality both in & out of the car just doesn't suit BJR.

Not sure who'll get the seat though. Kim's son Andrew? Brad's son Macaulay? Are they ready yet?

Also, what's going to happen with Bright's REC? Especially if BJR still want to run three cars?
I wouldn't be surprised if JB lets BJR continue to use his REC so long as he gets an enduro seat with the team.

The talk has been Percat but Tander would be a good option for that seat.
a bit from Speedcafe.
Brad Jones Racing has confirmed that Jason Bright will leave the team at the end of the current season.

Although not yet announced, Speedcafe.com understands that Bright will be replaced in the #8 Holden by Nick Percat.

The 28-year-old Percat will switch to BJR from Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport, where he has spent the last two seasons.

I guess Inside Supercars should be able to tell us.

I read it again. Bright mentions he hopes he doesn't stop in the wrong pit bay. Maybe he does push Blanchard out.

Well that makes sense. Percat won't know himself & will think all his Xmases have come at once.

Andrew drove in the main game for GRM in 2005. I'm pretty sure he lost that seat, and since he's just been an average co-driver and DVS driver.

Andrew had his chance, showed promise in the DVS series but failed hard at the main game, Macauley or however its spelled is no where near ready nor really as good as Andrew was in the DVS,

Fair enough. No family favours like a certain son of a legendary Queenslander enjoyed ;)

If you a referring to Steve Johnson, then I cant agree with the favouritism, I feel he did have genuine pace but was held back by his father, by the time he got a seat the team was in its regular spiral of building cars for the back of the grid, mainly due to paying so much for Paul Radisich, which was a proven investment until the cars just weren't top 10, Steve had some tremendous drives with Paul at Bathurst, and also starred himself, 2013 where he was paired with Maro Engel in the Mercedes proved that even in the decline of his career that he still had what it takes, peddling a back of the grid car almost into the top 10 shoot out, and was wicked quick all weekend, Maro's inexperience let the team down of any result, I think they finished 1 lap down,

He didn't do bad leading the 1000 in the retro EB liveried FGII until the rear end let go.

Ah yes I forgot about that, all in all, he wasn't far off from being where the expectancy of his namesake should have been, but the car was just never on par with HRT equipment, though had he gone down the same path as Lowndes I believe he would have been more prominent in the top 5,

EDIT: Percat to BJR,

I also think Steve Johnson was more than capable in the right machinery. If his last name was different people would say he got his drive on his own merit. I'm surprised he isn't still a co-driver
