What did you do in GT7 today?

Today I went digging into the Nissan Skyline Silhouette '84, a car which I enjoy very much.

One odd thing about it is that the tachometer appears to have seen better days. To my eyes, it's suffering from what I'd call "Sticky Needle Disease". It jumps around rather than operating smoothly.

You can see this behavior in my YouTube video -

It's most obvious when the sunlight is playing on the instrument panel, as in the cropped screenshot below. Close inspection shows that some of the lettering is showing signs of wear, such as under the FUEL gauge, so maybe it's just consistent with the age of the car, and lack of replacement parts after 42 years.

That's not unheard of with old chronometric Tachometers used on older race cars(such as the old Smith types). These types of mechanical tach setups are often driven off the camshaft and as such update more sporadically.

Not every car back then had such jumpy tachs, as there were a variety of mechanical tach solutions over the years, such as those using cable or vacuum systems, and each setup or system had it's nuances and levels of sophistication, and without knowing what this particular car used exactly, it may or may not be accurate.

Anyways, I tested'em and ended up selling some of those cars in order to keep trimming down my garage to the cars I like better.

Be careful with this - when the ability to sell cars was introduced, I instinctively sold off all of the cars that I didn't like, then found out that for the Extra Menu books, a car doesn't count if you've previously owned and sold it, resulting in me having to repurchase cars again.

Now I just hold on to all cars regardless of whether I like them or not.

For what I actually did "today" (see: yesterday).
Completed the 5 weekly challenge races. Pulled an AMG Bore Up S for a car I'll likely never use from the parts ticket, and a GR.1 car (I forget which one) that I already own from the car ticket, so sold that for 1.4mill credits.

Hello and thank you for your reply! I just don't think the rewards from the extra menus are really good to justify getting and keeping all cars. It is just another "100% checkmark" in our dash.

I'm guilty of grinding and completing the car collection though, but I do regret the time spent grinding just to get cars I either won't use or I'm not interested.

As I start to be bit tired of endless grinding I decided to do custom race to Alsace village.
Race conditions start at midnight, fuel and tires x 10 and 6 laps. I try to race non-race cars and mostly I’ve been doing pp 500-600 cars. It’s been a blast and VR2 really makes it fun. Too bad the payoff is 110k for 15 minutes but other than that it’s a nice way to learn cars.

Last update made many cars much more enjoyable
