They don't have a clutch for normal driving modes, if the car's in gear then the anti-stall will pull the clutch in, if the gearbox has a fault then he's pretty much stuck in that cycle.

Nobody knew that it could be done until Palmer binned it at Spa last year. He started rocking back and forth and then took off from what looked like a terminal stall. The other manufacturers figured it out from there.

When did it stop driving like the pinnacle? Cause try as I might I've yet to find any other car come close to f1 lap times.

When F1 cars started posting slower lap times than they did in the past. I don't remember the exact year.
 
Starting from pitlane might not be terrible for Ricciardo. In case there's mid pack drama at the first corners, he should be able to avoid easily.

That's happened plenty of times with reg changes, they're still the fastest cars on a track so...guess proper F1 has been around for some time.
