I expect Nissan/ESM to be more competitive than Mazda despite the late start, the Onroak chassis is sure to be one of the best and the engine has already done plenty of 24 hour races in the GT3 car. Hell, when Hartley and Derani are in the car I'm sure it'll be the quickest thing out there. I'd still bet on a Cadillac win though.
I think Rebellion will sneak it in. The Oreca is 100% proven, and its Gibson V8 is too, and mated to the car perfectly. I think they'll be a dark horse in this.

I don't think the Nissan DPi will be on the back foot. Imsa is going to be equalizing everything anyway. The best thing they can do is try for better tire life and suspension setups. That's about the only thing that won't be wind tunneled or dyno'd to the smallest of degrees.

PR1 has announced their lineup.

BoP only makes sure you stay within a certain window, if you are too slow they won't help you much. That's why it took so long for Lexus to show up.
That's not going to happen. The base car is the new Ligier JSP217, which is in no way going to be off pace going by the lap times it did at Monza months ago. The fundamental part of the car is fine. It's the little things that will be determining whether or not it wins. Things like setup and reliability. Not so much the engine side since the gtr gt3's engine is good, but things like the cooling requirements and the things that changed. Mazda last year had the pace, but not the reliability or the strategy.

Tequila Patron ESM – The Scott Sharp and Ed Brown-led operation will field two Nissan-powered Ligier DPis, which have yet to hit the track. Sharp will team with Ryan Dalziel in the No. 2 car, with Brown and Johannes van Overbeek in the No. 22 entry. Pipo Derani (No. 2) and Brendon Hartley/Bruno Senna (No. 22) complete the lineup for Daytona, with Derani set for the Patron Endurance Cup as well. (2 cars)
Senna to race at Daytona!

I'm betting we see PC cars only for the NAEC.

Admittedly IMSA didnt do the class any favors by making them go to Canada. Thats a lot of paperwork to do and I'm sure that adds to the budget.

I wonder how much used FLM09's go for... If I were a rich man I'd pick one up and run it at Thunderhill.

The one remaining PC team should vouch for that.

At least $100,000 or more. Who knows though, I'm basing that off the fact I saw an LMP900 Cadillac (with its computers to run it) go for $100,000 or $120,000 at Barrett Jackson.

I also agree with the thoughts that PC shouldn't go to Mosport on ground of logistics and costs.

It seems like (based upon the SC365 comments) there is a divide between camps of making it NAEC only, just killing the class outright, or letting them run the season like IMSA said they would via scheduling them for the races they did. Though I don't think anyone is shocked at the poor attendance of PC this year given the class is a lame duck as it is.

Looks neat, but nothing like a Nissan. Its more like alternative Ligier bodywork which makes sense considering who designed it.
