I don't 24 hours is far too long and as fan I like to watch the whole race. So I'd have a 12H as the max and I don't know if the cars could even last that long of just straight running.
12 or 24 hours, I can't see any race being allowed to exceed the distance or, topple the Bathurst 1000 from its pinnacle as our premier endurance race.

As for whether a Supercar would last the distance, I could see the teams having to fit 'special life' components to the cars just in case.
Adding to that, a race of such a long distance would have to include the S2 cars to allow for the attrition rate such a race would have.
Then you have the problem of finding drivers of a suitable standard.

That and tyres. What a mess it would be. Plus, Tim Slade would be out in the first hour... Wouldn't happen anyway.

This guy....

I take bets it was Garry Rogers who said he wasn't worth the money.

Now, who in thee hell, has their hand up to take over?

Whoever it is, I hope it's an FOM moment like we've currently seen after Liberty and Chase took over. Because that's what VASC needs

Garry would be correct IMO 👍

In addition to the above, I'd like to add that we don't need to see them on TV at every major event, licking the ass of the politician deemed worthy by Supercars.
I don't care how much of the taxpayer's money they've spent, we don't need to see the CEO of the sport doing a fanboy routine.

Not many positive comments from residents in the second article there.
Small minority. Yet, those same people, won't mention the much needed upgrades to the CBD(the streets and sidewalks look fantastic by the way).
Won't see many positive comments because those people aren't complaining.
The light rail was also just christened, after years of talk. I'm sure they're happy about that too. ;)

Funny, I can't wait to see how every thing looks on screen, after the race weekend.

As a side, the Support categories haven't been officially revealed, but Charlotte Poynting let it slip

Livery for Caruso this weekend.

Hell of a lot better than what they ran at Bathurst.

Yeah, it's better than the Bathurst shocker for sure but, after running the Calsonic livery at Sandown, they've left themselves nowhere to go.
IMO, nothing will ever top that.

Exactly. However, I give up on PD having anything to do with Australian Supercars.
That's ok. After what PD have done to the GT franchise & too much disappointment with GT6, I've given up on them.

Yes, please. I've got a 1/18 of Alex Davison's Autobarn Commodore. One of my all time favourite liveries.

Huge career-long Lowndes fan here so, what I'd like to know is this:

Did Caltex decline the offer of an extension because they didn't like the numbers, requiring the team to seek alternative(s) or,

Did Autobarn outbid Caltex for the rights of Primary sponsor?

Now, IIRC, when it was announced that CL had resigned with 888, I thought the terms were for 2018 with the option to continue in 2019 if both parties are happy to do so.

If that's the case, 888 have managed to get Autobarn over the line with the potential of a mystery driver in 2019 if, either CL pulls the pin on his full time drive or, RD want an alternative.

Might just be a case of Caltex scaling back their sponsorship for whatever reason?

Find it interesting however, that's going to be called Autobarn Lowndes Racing. Has Lowndes bought a stake of that REC?

Yeah, the naming thing has provoked more thoughts for me than the change of Sponsor.

Anyone remotely interested in Supercars knows Lowndes drives the #888 so, why the ALR tag?

I suspect Craig has a financial interest on some level in the #888 franchise.

I'd love to know what a Supercar franchise financially returns for 2017?
