Yeah, Pither and Heimgartner should have drives. Was a bit too soon to bench them. LDM would have done good, to have those two, in both cars from the jump.

CAMS have made some changes to the Superlicence eligibility. Anyone who finishes in top six of the preceding year’s Dunlop Super2 Series. Will automatically be granted a Superlincence.
...And they can't foresee any changes in the near future.

The Newcastle Herald reported on Friday that Supercars had been forced to cap access to the Cold Chisel concert on Saturday, November 25, due to the demand for tickets.

Based on ticket sales, race organisers still expect a total crowd of 150,000 over the three days.
50k a day. Spot on. :)

The front straight is very narrow. Hope the starts are clean. Either way, I'm not anticipating much passing at this track, so qualifying will mean a lot.

Not for nothing, but this could have changed NISMO's outcome this year. Struggling with set up on the Super Softs.

Even though I've never been, the front straight seems similar in width, to the Gold Coast. However, if cars get good drive out of corners, I'd expect similar passing to the Gold Coast as well. Watt street is wide. T2-7 will be like Monaco. That could be tricky for some drivers with set up. Weather will be key. It's supposed to rain from tomorrow to Tuesday. Then, partly cloudy through the weekend. Maybe rain in late afternoon on Sunday.

I expect this to play out like a Monaco GP. 250kms at this place, will be fun.

For those that haven't seen this.

Edit: Can't embed it because BLAH. :grumpy: Virtual lap around Newcastle. Go to the VASC facebook page to see it...

At least Percat has had a sponsor for each round and not had a blank car. Most of his sponsors this year were already sponsors of BJR apart from Boost, so I wonder if BJR were discounting the the main sponsor spot in order to not compete without one.

Also, god I can’t wait for Newcastle. Possibly the most exciting street circuit the V8s have ever raced at.

You already know pushing and shoving will persist for the full lap. Getting off those corners will be vital. No bad spots to watch from.

Some of the comments(in the Supercars website) reference this is from Assetto Corsa. I posted in the AC thread to get confirmation. I believe rFactor are building this track as well.

Well, the ZB won't be around that long anyway. Nice time for another manufacturer to jump in. Come on Kia and Lexus.

So with Bright calling it a day. Stanaway to the fourth PRA machine and Jacobson and someone else at LDM, maybe.

That's what I'm thinking. The "maybe" could be Tekno as well. Would Webb split from T8 and partner LDM, MWM?

On another note. The circuit is pretty much done. Shortland Esplanade is open. All other roads are closed. They're mainly setting up all the support race tents, kiosks, clubhouses, amenities.

Turns 2-7 are pretty wide. So, if someone gets a run on another, there's room.
