2019 Super Formula SF19 Coming to Gran Turismo Sport Later This Month

This is a blessing of the fact that GT Sport does not have the ability to have manual DRS or hybrid power overtake.

GT Sport will not have any of that "light that activates on that limited overboost overtake" nonsense.

So, guys, will we have at least one at the end of March?
I'd expect Motegi, since it owned by Honda

I love Formula cars, but unfortunately GT physics doesn't model their handling very well. It's a nice car to have but will be very limited in use for me. Sound wise it's gonna be identical to the Super GTs as they use the same engine. To be honest I'm most looking forward to how KERS/DRS is implemented. Hopefully they add a button for manual deployment so we can also use it for Tomahawk/P1 GTR/W08/LMP1s.

In terms of performance, SF is similar to F2/GP2 I believe. So now we have F1 (W08), F2 (SF), F3 (RB Junior). Formula E is also coming. Only missing Indycar and we have the full set of premier open wheeler series. Then maybe they can start adding F1 look alike from past eras (80s is already covered by F1500 and 00s is sorta represented by RB Standard).

Hoping for one of the SF tracks to come as well, although I'm not holding my breath because it would surely be used in the GT League championship instead of Tokyo if that's the case.

Anywhoo, time to grind an extra 2 million credits :D Thankfully this won't be a dud month for updates after all.

Is it really that hard to read literally any part of the thread or linked articles and see that they're adding it?

The article suggests that this system will be operational in GT Sport.

"Suggests"

I put it to you this will never happen. it didnt happen in the past on multiple formulas from F1 to WEC and I 'suggest' to you that it still wont happen now.

I will apologise to you it it does, I mean its the least I can do. The very least.

Technically is says it will be operational:

“And the boost system will be newly introduced! You can use it in accordance with the overtaking system.”

Sure it can still be left out because they can’t get it to work properly or they just straight up lied, but let’s not be that cynical...

This is good news i thought we would Only get the 5 cars in march. But i am looking forward most for the march 5 update can't Wait for the Pagani huayra and Skr mclaren

That old style of Super Formula/Formula Nippon is better looking than the current SF19 IMHO. The skyscraper rear wing and halo just don't sit right with me aesthetically.

Probably 'yes' then. They could have been working on a deal and also with the new car being tested last year, waited for now to introduce it for the next FIA races.

sorry, i thought you were asking if/when jan had a seat.

overall im pretty excited about the new formula cars, i will always appreciate PD adding real race cars over one off SEMA customs. even if they dont have a huge following in my market (usa)... MORE RACE CAR... i also hope we get a new track worthy of the new formulas, the motegi circuts would be nice as the layouts offer challenges for all types of cars and drivers... unfortunately spa, while being in top 3 on wish list, would not be a great addition with these cars... but maybe we'll get two tracks??? :dunce::dunce::dunce:

When Gran Turismo series launches, the interest in Japanese Motorsport Culture rises.

I believe JDM cars in the likes of Nissan Skyline and Honda NSX gets popular because of Gran Turismo Series.

Super GT is definitely the most affected. Before Gran Turismo series launches, JGTC and subsequent Super GT were unheard of. But now its as popular as ever.

Kaz might have the same idea to the Formula Nippon / Super Formula.
I've never heard of Super Formula until now. I think I'll have to check it out now.

I just love when Gran Turismo introduces me to other racing series'. It really is awesome.

I like the new look, Im probably one of the few who likes the look of the Halo cars :D

I don’t know if I ‘like’ it but it definitely isn’t something I ‘dislike’. I will say the current crop of formula cars look strange without the halo on them if you just remove it from the picture. I’m all for them protecting drives, I just wish the cars themselves were a bit more brutal (sez the person whose never driver a formula one car). But it’s probably a track/car package that would really bring back the ‘racing’ to align with the image I have in my mind of what “the best racing looks like”

For those unaware, a Super Formula car consistently the closest to an F1 car in terms of speed over a lap.

Those calling this effectively a GP2/F2 car are discrediting the SF car massively.

Through the esses at Suzuka, a SF car is actually quicker than an F1 car.

I saw that 550hp and was thinking closer to Indy car performance but still more nimble than Indy car. I will have to look up sf on you tube and watch a couple races. Looking forward to it though.
