Man United beat Brighton 2-0, it was actually a pretty bad performance by United but still managed to get the win, Ronaldo ended his goal drought with a great strike in the second half before Fernandes scored another banger right at the end, Brighton had Dunk sent off for a last man challenge which was given via VAR, Brighton were excellent at times and largely dominated the midfield. United up to fourth now.

A bit early but I'm a bit busy tomorrow so here are this weekends games.

Saturday.
Arsenal v Brentford
Aston Villa v Watford
Brighton v Burnley
Crystal Palace v Chelsea
Liverpool v Norwich
Man City v Tottenham (5.30 Sky)
Southampton v Everton
West Ham v Newcastle (12.30 BT)

Sunday.
Leeds v Man United (2pm Sky)
Wolves v Leicester (4.30 Sky)

I think that's the most Saturday games we have had for a while.

What a day it has been!!

West Ham 1-1 Newcastle
Palace 0-1 Chelsea
Arsenal 2-1 Brentford
Southampton 2-0 Everton
Brighton 0-3 Burnley
Villa 0-1 Watford
Liverpool 3-1 Norwich
Man City 2-3 Spurs

Changes at both ends of the table! Burnley off the bottom after their big win and Norwich losing, they are now five points from safety with two games in hand so they have given themselves a chance, Liverpool were 1-0 down turned it around pretty swiftly plus Luis Diaz got his first goal for the club, Chelsea weren't great but Ziyech got the winner late on, Villa and Everton both terrible.

Then the late game, Kulusevski put Spurs in front after just four minutes, a fumble at the back from Lloris lead Gundogan to equalize before Harry Kane scored twice in a great performance with a Mahrez penalty in between, gap at the top is six points between City and Liverpool with Liverpool having a game in hand, title race is on!

Also its been reported that during the West Ham-Newcastle game Kurt Zouma complained to the ref that Chris Wood kept saying 'meeow' to him!

Why have you posted this? What are we supposed to learn from this? Are you sad that Neymar missed a penalty, was Neymar's penalty being saved an important turning point in the game? What even was the score? Can you PLEASE stop posting stupid, random things in these threads without any context because nobody knows what the point of it is. At this point it could be classed as spam that should be removed from the thread.

Leeds 2-4 Man United
Wolves 2-1 Leicester

Great game at Elland Road, Man United actually scored from a corner at the 140th attempt with Maguire giving United the lead, Bruno Fernandes headed home to make it 0-2 at half time, Leeds then scored two in less than two minutes in the second half and Rodrigo scored a banger, Fred and Elanga sealed the win for United and there was some revenge for Elanga as he was struck by a coin from the Leeds fans during the celebrations for the Fred goal, deserved win for United and a good performance with two assists from Sancho, good game management from Ralph who got the subs spot on.

Wolves continued their good form with a win over Leicester, Neves with another outside the box goal and a Podence strike for Wolves, with Lookman getting Leicester's goal who should've got at least a point.

Awful conditions in both games.

These are the PL games taking place tomorrow and Thursday.

Wednesday.
Burnley v Tottenham
Liverpool v Leeds
Watford v Crystal Palace

Thursday.
Arsenal v Wolves (Amazon Prime)

All games kick off at 7.45pm, none of the games on Wednesday are televised, blame UEFA and the Champions League.

Do Shaktar Donestsk now play in the Russian league?
Seeing as they've been playing home games in Lviv and Kharkiv since the initial invasion in 2014, I don't think so.

Also correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Russia recognised the independence of the Donbass regions, rather than declaring them part of Russia, so your once-again-contextless joke would be better suited as part of the Donbass League (I think?)

Nah, comments about any domestic championships are all welcome here.

Liverpool 6-0 Leeds
Burnley 1-0 Spurs
Watford 1-4 Palace

Thumping win for Liverpool who now are just three points behind Man City at the top, Salah with two penalties and Mane with two as well, Van Dijk and Matip also scoring as well. Massive win for Burnley who's revival continues, they are up to 18th now just two points from safety and with a game in hand on Newcastle, Leeds and Brentford above them, Ben Mee scored on 71 minutes. Comfortable night for Palace, two from Zaha with Mateta and Gallagher the other Palace scorers, Sissoko with the sole Watford goal.

Conte's response to Spurs defeat and recent form tonight is interesting to say the least!

Arsenal 2-1 Wolves.

A Lacazette winner in the 95th minute keeps Arsenal in the top four race, Hwang Hee-Chan gave Wolves the lead but Arsenal came back late on with a Pepe equalizer in the 82nd minute and then that Lacazette strike at the death.

---------------------------------

Games this weekend.

Friday.
Southampton v Norwich (8pm Sky)

Saturday.
Brentford v Newcastle
Brighton v Aston Villa
Crystal Palace v Burnley
Everton v Man City (5.30 Sky)
Leeds v Tottenham (12.30 BT)
Man United v Watford

Sunday.
West Ham v Wolves (2pm Sky)
Carabao Cup Final.
Chelsea v Liverpool (4.30 Sky)

Some big games towards the bottom of the table on Saturday.

There is one PL re-arranged game next week and its Burnley v Leicester on Tuesday night, next weekend is the FA Cup fifth round.

Southampton 2-0 Norwich
Leeds 0-4 Spurs
Man United 0-0 Watford
Palace 1-1 Burnley
Brentford 0-2 Newcastle
Brighton 0-2 Villa
Everton 0-1 Man City

Big win for Spurs with Kulusevski, Docherty, Kane and Son all scoring, Bielsa is under pressure after a tough week that saw three big defeats and he is now bookies favourite in the sack race, Man United had several chances in another frustrating day and its advantage Arsenal in the top four race now, Erikson returned to action for Brentford in their defeat, Joelinton and Willock with the Newcastle goals and Brentford had Dasilva sent off, Foden with a late winner for Man City after a defensive mix up by Everton, Comfortable night for Southampton in last night's game, Adams and Romeu with the goals there.

The big news tonight is Roman Abramovich handing over stewardship and care of Chelsea to its charitable foundation, this is of course due to the Russian invasion/military action in Ukraine, he hasn't sold the club and I think he has passed over the day-to-day running in case either he or the club gets sanctioned.

Dodgy VAR decision in the Everton v Cit€h game. Pretty much blatant handball by Rodri should have given Everton the chance to equalise, but only VAR seem to think it was not a penalty from the media coverage I have seen. Lampard was very close to saying it was more than a mistake. Lucky day for Cit€h then, as their goal also came from a mistake in Everton's defence too.

Great to see Christian Eriksen back on a football field. Lucky to be back on a pro football pitch, extremely lucky to still be alive. The change to play again, a bonus. Hope he get back to where he was before.

The FA have announced that England will not play against Russia in any fixture "for the foreseeable future".

England join Poland, Sweden and Czechia in refusing to play Russia.

-

FIFA have declined to ban Russia from international football, but have banned Russia from hosting international matches and must now play under the banner of the 'Football Union of Russia' (FUR) and without their national flag or anthem.

West Ham 1-0 Wolves
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool (AET, Liverpool win 10-11 on penalties)

Liverpool have won the Carabao Cup beating Chelsea on penalties, Chelsea's second choice keeper Kepa was brought on for Mendy in extra time just for the shootout....and then missed the penalty by skying it over the bar to give Liverpool the win, very even game between the two, a lot of goals ruled out for offside! Liverpool are now the most successful team in the competition with nine tournament wins.

West Ham back in the top four race with a win over Wolves, Soucek with a tap in a fairly boring game. West Ham had loads of chances to kill the game off.

The response to FIFA banning Russia from playing home games and using the flag/anthem hasn't been good, Polish FA still furious saying that its 'totally unacceptable' and they also said they wont play Russia in any form, you cant blame them for this.
