Its disheartening to see dirty tactics and driving in the higher rated races. For someone working my way up from the bottom, slowly. I am forgiving for driving errors, I make lots myself, though if I do always try to wait and let that person pass me. What I am beginning to realise, lots of those incidents that have happened to myself, may not have been genuine mistakes, but intended actions. I guess thats the difference between those drivers looking for simulation and those who view it as a game.
The clip above, the Atenza driver, is a shocker.

While I understand the idea that having a race ruined by a couple drivers from the same nation means you cam blame the nation, I would avoid it. I have a solid list of Aussies and Kiwis I won't go anywhere near during a race as it is a guaranteed punt. Dirty drivers inhabit every country like a pest.
Might check out how lag is affecting thing things as well. I think that is a bigger culprit than most people think.
My issue were the red bars from players outside Australia.

What is up guys after Spa in the rain total grind this round was more far enjoyable, although it wasn't without any drama. Race 1 we qualify on Pole on our bank Lap skip the flying lap because because of traffic, and i was confident. step off for a second comeback, got bump all the way down to p10 -_- than on opening lap bottle it "Cold Tires" got stuck behind a FF, made no progress. Race 2 poor qualify because of traffic bottle it opening laps got stuck behind a FF again didn't get a great result. Race 3 qualify 3rd made it trough opening laps 2\3 of the race we bottle it finished 3 POS down.

And race 4 happen. by this time we have found our groove, so we were feeling pretty good. We got Q8 and than we bottle it first Lap lol. but we were still in the game from then on we Just went on a Hunt...

Practiced a bunch for this one. Y'all know the drill, haha.

I only had time to do one slot. I sort of thought I might be able to do 2 or 3, but the Northeast is getting some of its first nice weather of the spring and my wife wanted to have a fire (outside, lol) and see some folks we haven't seen in awhile. So I had one shot in Slot 1.

259 point room. Qualifying was a mess. You couldn't wait too much if you wanted to get 2 laps in, and people bunched up like crazy, and were too impatient to leave space. I slowed down at the chase to give some space to the guy in front of me, and two of South American friends decided that rather than being patient, they needed to pass me on the last turn as we were all heading into our first flyer. I lost quite a bit of time going up the mountain as a result, and had to lift several times. I was patient and got a good exit from elbow and took the tow and then the clean pass heading into the Chase. The lap ended up being a 12.38x which wasn't terrible but I had at least 2-3 tenths better if I got a clean lap in. Someone crashed in front of me heading up the mountain on lap 2 and I had to lift since they didn't ghost, and that was that. The lobby was super tight. P1 to P12ish was within 4 tenths. I ended up in P10 to start, but easily could've been in the top 5.

The race started, and I had a plan. I had been practicing tire saving, and the goal was to keep my nose clean and save my tires and then to gain places through attrition. As I crossed Skyline on lap 1, someone in front of me got a little squirrely and the pack mashed together heading into the dipper. I don't even know what happened, but some how I came to a dead stop in the middle of the track when no one else around me did, and I got turned around. Down to P15. After that, my race plan was screwed. I made a pass or two on the next lap, but was booted coming through the chase. Down to P18. I was 3 seconds back from the pack after that. I burned the tires up to catch back up, and made it up to P15 before my right front gave out. Not sure which place I finished P17/P18, and good for 78 points.

The person who got squirrely apologized after the end of the race, but I wasn't mad at them and it's not their fault. Between the lack of ghosting at A+ and the lag issues we've all been seeing, it really isn't a surprise that some weird **** would happen through those middle two sectors at Bathurst.

I'm pretty close to taking a big break from the game I think, but we'll see. I can still finish top 5 for Ford with a decent finish at Tokyo, and a decent finish in Nations at Laguna (because only insane people will race GTS Dirt) should get me into the Top 140 pretty easily, so I can still salvage my S. The A+ racing is no joke, friends, and it's stealing some fun.

When you work it out, let me know. I’ve done a practice race there and the Jag chews them up so quickly. A no stop is out of the question and even a one stop is tough.

Quite frankly, slam the BB all the way forward (for MR cars) or backwards (for FR cars) and maybe turn up the TC for good measure. From there, adjust BB as needed to balance out your wear between front and back. Your left tyres will be dead by the end of the race.

I’ve seen a Renault take a crushing victory via no-stop in a 4 car lobby where everyone else stopped (including me), so a no-stop is probably mandatory at the higher levels. Good luck to anyone in the Lambo, though. The Lambo in my lobby was struggling even on the one stop and died at the Docks on the last lap to finish last.

My no stop time in the Citroen with BB -5 and TC 2 was five seconds faster than my 9M-6S time with BB -3 and TC 2.

Round 5 of Manufacturers Cup at Mt. Panorama in the Gr. 4 Jaguar

I started practicing for this one last Sunday and the car was dangerous before the update. I felt very confident in a podium finish but the power reduction took some wind out of my sails.

I kept at it all week and felt a podium was still possible going in to the first slot. It was a fun week spent in practice lobbies as opposed to daily races. Made a couple friends, raced some top drivers, and learned steadily. I think I’ll do this for Tokyo, too.

I didn’t master the timing of slipstream qualifying in practice and most attempts lost me a ton of time, so I kept to myself in qualy. Not my best run, but 7th would work for me. With a good start I would get a chance to break slip from 8th, who I knew would start mid corner.

Start was strong until it was time to come down the mountain. I had a practiced rhythm of brake, steering, and downshifting for this section that I totally mucked up. Downshifted early and the back end stepped out and had me rocketing toward the right side wall.

I try to hug the wall to leave room for those behind. P8 goes wide and makes it by but gets loose. P9 T-bones me in the Esses. Watching the replay, his line was all wrong as I was off the racing line at that point and I don’t think he would have made the corner. He bounces back and I bounce off the wall in front of P10, a fellow forum member.

There was a chance we would get out of this section, but the car that made it by didn’t make the Dipper and I hit his rear to get him moving and P10 does the same to me, but gets spun out. I watched this several times and I don’t understand the physics that happened. I felt terrible, but nothing to do but carry on.

P9 reappears and rage punts me before Forrest’s Elbow. It functioned more as a bump draft and got me reconnected to the pack.

The rest of the race went much smoother. I worked together with an Aston to pressure another Aston in P6 and after a couple offs from those ahead this became a 3 way battle for 4th that went on all race. This could have been for 3rd, but the other Aston was fighting early and this let the Citroen in 3rd get away.

Final lap I had a good run on Conrod for P4 and had overlap before the Chase. We touched and I wasn’t sure if it was my fault so I backed off and finished 5th. Mixed feelings as I had 15 good laps, but a terrible mistake on the first one. Sorry again, Roam.

I sat out Bathurst and the rally race is a no go for me too. So I’ll be spending the week working out how to save tyres at Tokyo.
I did the GT League Endurance race in an Evo and some FP laps in the R8. It's one of the good tracks.

I’ve seen a lot of clips of this particular user, I think you submitted a clip to idiots of the week.

Is he of the fast and unhinged variety?

I’m guessing he’s notorious in the NA region from some posts I’ve seen on here!

It’s just my Daily Race account, but I don’t care about the points on that account. So if someone decides they want to drive dirty, I don’t hesitate to fight back on that one is all.

No pitstop is the best strategy for Tokyo, I think. Did a test race this evening; 15 drivers, 1 A+, 1 A, several B's and 1 or 2 C's.
started 5th, was fourth after the first few corners and was chased by a AMG that turned out to be on softs and he pitted lap 7 or 8. (he did overtook me twice at the U turn but got to deep so that I could cut back in front of him, that was real fun and thankfully he was a good sport and did not try overtakes in the twisty part!!!)
He got back out of the pits and was about 24 seconds behind me then. Everybody but me and the A+ winner pitted. the two cars in front of me got in a big, heated fight and took each other out, a really dirty fight that was!
So finished 2nd, about 30 seconds behind the Canadian A+, weho was in a Porsche. Tyres were dead though, final laps were about 3 seconds slower then my first laps and it was really difficult to keep the car out of the barriers by them. But the AMG only took about 12 seconds of the 24 he was behind me.....so that is why my conclusion is that a no stop is the better choise.

did find it very difficult to find my breaking points during the race with cars in front of me, as my vision got obscured by the identification tags above the cars, that might be an issue for me with 20 cars on track....

Quali 11

Had friends over for the afternoon and night. After they left i decided to have a crack at the Bathurst race. Put about 20 minutes practice in and felt fairly comfortable in the sls.

Quali was underwhelming and I posted a clean but mediocre banker lap. 2nd lap I was compromised by 3 cars battling for track space. So just used it as a warm-up. Starting the race I knew I had a bit more speed in me so was confident I could make up a few places during the race.

Bit of an ordinary start with cold tyres after first few turns but I managed to survive. My plan was to be as smooth as possible and keep my tyres healthy and pick up spots from others making mistakes.

Turns out that's what exactly happened

End of lap 1 a Subaru in 7th goes way too deep into the chase and goes off into the grass. Coming back on he blocks an Aston in 10th. I scoot on through past the Aston and get an inside line for the final turn on the Subaru.
Up to 9th.

There was already a gap of about 2 seconds to the next car in 8th now though. But with some clean air I could maybe catch them while they squabble.

End of lap 3 I had gotten the gap down to 1 sec. Subie pushes a mecedes wide into the 1st corner. I manage to swerve out of the way of mecedes coming back on and i get a good run on the Subaru. I manage to go around outside of him into Quarry Bend . Beautiful!
Up to 7th

Another second to 6th. Its another mecedes.
End of lap 5 I had caught up to him.

Lap 9. He went wide into the cutting. Enabling me to sneak up the inside and just get in front for the next corners.

By lap 13 I was up to 6th hounding a viper in 5th with shot tires. He was hounding a Porsche for a few laps but he started to fade away. He was getting slower and sloppy. But I just could not find a way through. It was hard to predict where I should set myself up.

Coming into the chase, the mecedes behind me that I passed earlier had caught back up to me due to the viper struggling so much. I kind of followed the viper a little too deep into the chase but unfortunately so did the mecedes behind me and he tapped my side. Sending my car into a spin. He apologised after the race. But the damage was done and all my hard work had gone down the drain.

After I had recovered I had gotten on track in 11th position but with dirty tires had to concede a place to a Aston who had superior speed down the straight. In retrospect I should have covered my inside earlier, as I tried to cover him around the outside into Quarry Bend.

On the final lap the Aston went too deep into the cutting and I was able to slip on up the inside to retake 11th.

Following a Subaru and another Aston in 9th up and down the mountain, I waited for a highly likely lunge from the Subaru to go into the final few corners. Sure enough the Subie goes for it down into the chase and pushes the Aston a little wide. The Subaru and Aston get bad exits and I get in front of the subie and get a good run into the final corner on the Aston. The Aston doesn't cover the inside so I pull out to take an inside line and brake perfectly to hit the apex just right. The Aston decides to move in the braking zone and he continued to turn into me. Bumping me and forcing me off track and onto the grass. As soon as my tyres hit the grass its all over and I get sent into a spin. Sigh.

The Aston gets off scott free. The subie gets through and two other cars go by as I struggle to get back onto the road and reach the chequered flag in a frustrating 13th.

A tale of what could have been a fantastic clean drive from 11th to a possible 5th. Turning into a devastating pile of rubble and tears.
96 points.
Lost roughly 600 DR

One and done for me. Too late and too tired to try for a better result. I did have a really enjoyable race up until the last couple of laps. But that's racing for you.

Here's hoping my fortune turns around for the next one.

I'm thinking about commentating my highlight videos. Let me know if anyone would be interested. I do enjoy making em. Just a little more effort and time needed.

Man, what a day.

The first slot was just a waste for me. Qualified 12 with door #5. Things almost immediately went south when a Jaguar hit me off at Chase on the first lap. I managed to recover and finish back in 12th. The Jaguar driver did apologize afterwards.

I had to miss the following two races, so my next attempt was in the fourth slot. Qualified 8th with door #11 this time. I made it up to 6th by lap 10 but a Panamanian that was right on my tail nudged me into the sand at the top of the mountain. Fell all the way down to 12th. Of course, no penalty for them and it was definitely intentional. I recovered somewhat and finished 10th. Gained 100 DR, so no loss there other than my time.

Final race of the day. I qualified 12th. This was the most interesting race because the lobby had an infamously dirty player who was in an Atenza. This particular driver wrecked an 86 and later on a Scirocco at turn 2, which I saw happen right in front of me. I was close behind him after that incident but of course, I kept my distance. But as we both approach the final turn, a Mustang driver appears and teaches this guy a lesson:

I was lucky to not get taken out in the crossfire, but I had the best view. Karma is successfully served as the dirty Atenza driver gets a 3 second penalty for trying to get back at the Mustang and finishes 14th. When the race was over, he gets called out in chat by others and I reported him, although I doubt anything will happen. As for me, the Mustang eventually takes my place after the above incident. I tried to overtake a Lexus that was falling behind during the last couple of laps, but was unsuccessful.

Looks like I'm going to have to rely on Tokyo now for a strong finish to this season.

Good to see you weren't on the hook for the penalty after "forcing the other car off the track."

Bathurst was not a good race for me. Only had time to do one slot, got a bad qualy lap with no tow and on the second lap clipped the wall at the downhill before the long straight. So Started P17 on the Lambo and got caught on some door to door action that ultimately led to the front runners getting a nice gap with our pack.
Anyway, since I got back to the game a few weeks before, I´m trying not to take it too seriously and just enjoy racing.

P15 and 88 points was all I could get. Gonna work for Tokio, feels like the lambo is not fast enough of those long straights

Going to take a break from this game for a little while.

Not going to lower myself to say who it was, but having one of the drivers from the current ‘top 10’ EMEA leaderboard for Tokyo, go out of their way to search your name on PlayStation to then send a screenshot of that leaderboard with comments like ‘try and do that noob’ and ‘learn to drive go back to playing Mario Kart’ amongst other things, takes the enjoyment out of it and makes me wonder why I bother! Not really the thing I’d expect from a top split player.

All that after me just literally telling him to shut up in lobby chat after getting a volley of abuse from him for not getting out the way, and having him purposely crush me into the wall as punishment for not being quick enough!

Good luck everyone for the final race and will hopefully race against some of you when the official season starts! 👍

dang, sorry to heat that. I hate people like that. We have a couple of them here in NA region too. They just need to get over themselves already.

Wow, someone is really trying to compensate for something. Nothing worse than those who think being good gives them a license to walk all over others and look down on them. The quality of this game would improve tenfold if more people left their stupid egos at the door.

You should join/form a "team". ie those afore mentioned messages would be weeks of hilarity among teammates.

"Learn to drive go back to playing Mario Kart". The 90's called. They want their dad joke back.
