I just don’t get it, why make changes 1 or 2 races into a season? They had months to make changes before the season started, but they do this every time and screw over a ton of people who are stuck in cars now. It’s so stupid. Between this and the penalties it’s like they are just trying to drive people away from their game.
Couldn't agree more. It's always either this or halfway through the entire series, forcing most to decide to give their points up! Big F for my Jag Gr. 4 again.. :indiff:

> Mazda RX-V gets weight nerfed

Let’s be honest, this was going to happen at some point.

> Jag, Aston and Nissan Gr.4 get power nerfed

Jag and Aston, I can probably understand. Nissan is an strange choice to nerf, since I last saw Nissan near the front at Fuji for 20/21 Exhibition 1 Finale back when pit timings were shorter. Maybe PD decided that someone had to replace Alfa Romeo as the incumbent joke of Gr.4 for almost a year now....

>Alfa Gr.4 still losing power for less weight almost a year after it got nerfed to hell

...Case in point. I had to deal with this mobile scrapheap for most of last season, and it turned me off from picking Alfa for a long, long time.

For them to do this right after the official season starts just reeks of incompetence.

Nope, and I also don't get it. It's like changing the rules in the middle of a race.

Thanks, you’re the closest we have to someone who actually speaks with PD. So if they don’t tell you, we will never know.

IIRC, Alfa Gr.4 was nerfed in between Manufacturers Rounds 8 and 9 out of 30 last season. I can’t say I’m surprised by PD’s questionable timing of changing BoP just one round into the main season.

I was using Alfa last season and killing it when they nerfed it, and Jag the season before when they nerfed it. This is the 4th season now they have Nerfed one of my cars after the season has started, it’s getting very old.

I think I actually get why they adjust BoP in the season. And I don't even mind. Think of the changes as "succes ballast". Only problem here I see is they are changing GR 4 cars which have not raced yet this season.

Of course, driving the Jaaag I'm not happy they adjusted the HP again, but if it comes after "proven" results, I'm okay with it.

I guess I'm saying they should have waited at least a race before adjusting a car ( again)

What I do not agree with is the term Nerfing given to a singular adjustment.
Which is how I would classify al downgrades from the recent BoP update.

The last time a car was actually nerfed ( Audi TT) it had multiple downgrades ( in %) to either/and weight + HP.

Now what they did to the C4, I don't know if that will work. What is the benefit of having less weight over more HP?

Tbh honest I kinda think of this when I think of PD

VW looks strong in EMEA, got 3 very strong drivers this season, so could see them on the World Tour. Then will be the usual mess of trying to balance an FF car against all the rest.

I take it that this is our general consensus on today's BoP changes:

"Mr Pigems is very cross. You shouldn't have run away from him..." :D

All jokes aside, I did suspect a change was coming while doing some tests on Sunday evening and am glad that it won't affect my primary choice for the coming season. Won't give too much away just yet other than that choice should give me consistency and some shockingly good tyre management in Gr.4...

Once again I would just like to say 🤬 you PD!! 4th season now they have nerfed my car. Why do I even bother with Manu anymore?
...and this is exactly why I am not trying hard this season.

Wow, so many people (sheep ? :D) had jumped in the Jag train for this season...

It's almost like PD is trolling them at that point.

But let's see how things go tomorrow, maybe the 1% power reduction is not that impacting after all?

Well if PD could get the BoP even close to eight people wouldn’t have to pile into the Manu’s that have two half decent cars. But after 3 years they still can’t even do that right.

Can't argue with that. But is it even possible to balance so many different cars, without making them too similar?

Why does it matter if they are similar? They’re all just fake cars in a video game? Just pick the logo you like and go race.

Doesn’t matter now anyways though, this was the last straw, I’m done with it. Have a great season fellas!

Well, I wasn't all that happy with my practice times in the Jag at LM before the update. Let's so how much more happiness I lose after a lap or two this morning...

For my Jaaag experience, as far as I can tell it's a double edged sword, I lose time on the straights but the lower top speed let's me take banky boy smoother and the second to last corner with less breaking. I'm even enclined to believe the last corner goes smoother as well. All in all I managed to improve by a tenth.

I was just going to say pretty much the same thing - because you carry less speed into Banky Boi and the final corner, it's easier to hold the racing line and clip the apex. But you're carrying less speed into the corners because you have less speed to carry at all.

Personally, I'm down 2 tenths to last night. I still got a bit of time before I have to leave for work, we'll see.

I experienced the same on Bathurst last season with the Lexus nerf. Improved my PB by a tenth there too.

Exactly. The description for Manufacturer even says to represent your favorite car brand but now it’s just been reduced to “pick whoever has the best cars for this particular season and hope they don’t get nerfed midway”.

GT7 really needs to overhaul this whole system so that every brand has a fighting chance at being competitive and then more people will pick the one they genuinely like. I’ve put off driving for Subaru for the longest time because I’m afraid of getting smoked by power cars.

The writing was on the board for the Gr4 Aston and the Car du jour RX. PD kinda misfire in the last Gr4 BOP update Where the Aston was still a bit Op. It suck tho they correcting now right after the FIAGTC Start. in other hand that RX thing was ridiculous

I can’t even remember the last time I saw a Gr.4 Aston at the top of any leaderboard?

That is absolute BS. BOP adjustments should come before the season starts, not after. Its simply not fair to people like yourself who specifically chose your Manufacturer based on it's performance. PD shouldn't be changing the rules like this.

Its simply unacceptable to do this to players that are competing in FIA races.

If anything, they should give people a chance to switch Manufacturers if their Manu's BOP was adjusted.

I’m sitting out Maggiore tomorrow. Even with BB +5, the Citroen on Racing Hards has all the steering capabilities of an ocean liner through Big Bank and the final corner. Even if I managed to keep it on track, I’m two seconds off the pace of my fellow low A ranks. I’m focusing on Nations and Daily this week.
Yeah, also feeling those turns are a bit awkward with the Citroen. The speeds you want to go through them at seem to fall right in the boundaries between gears, but getting enough turn in is hard if you don't take the lower gear.

I'll still be running it because I feel it's only fair to run the bad combos, but I'm not going in with any expectations.

I may be wrong here but I'd consider LM West to be a power track. Some handling characteristics, but in race trim I think the power cars will shine. The GTR should be able to post a pretty good lap. I know the Atenza can, and the GTR has better top end.
I was going to reply to this saying that the first sector is awful and the mid to high speed corners of the last section are bad for the front tyres, then I was going to caveat it by saying I really don't like Maggiore so my opinion probably doesn't mean much, but then...

Every BoP update has that one massive "wtf are they thinking" change. In this one its the Gr.4 Nissan GTR getting a power nerf.

Did not see that one coming.

@stpatty is gonna be maaad.

lol get ****ed PD. The one area where the Gr.4 Nissan was even vaguely above average has been nerfed. It'll still be useless everywhere else. It won't even be any better on fuel economy, its terrible gearing means you'll need to over-rev it for longer to get anything out of it. Fantastic.

I have nothing else to add to a BOP change 1 race into a season when there have been six months of racing since the last official season. If PD want people to take Gran Turismo seriously as an esport and as a soon to be Olympic-related event they need actual communication. This sort of ******** won't work when there are people interested in your game who aren't diehard GT fans.
