Well quali was a bust, 1st mucked up COD 2nd mucked up everything else and nailed COD. Had I done it all in one lap I'd be 2nd easy as 1st has 0.9 on him and I'm only another 0.5 behind. Still 7th would have been OK if I hadn't forgot to change to meds :grumpy: :banghead:
Well that was terrible, CODed on 1,3 and 5 and had to nearly stop to avoid it one more time. Shouldn't have went with Toyota on this account as I don't really get on that well with it. Anyway worst start possible so it can only get better.

What a blast! Asia slot 1. With @ShiftingGears and @RX8 Racer Door 13. Q8 but probably should have been about Q5 as I got baulked into the final turn on my second flying lap.

Race was good. Started on mediums. A few CoD victims early (including @ShiftingGears, sucks mate). Worked my way up to notional p4 (3rd in the road) by the time so pitted on lap 8. A couple of guys who undercut me got by and I rejoined in P8. Had to try and deal with a peanut who kept pushing and defending like mad from lap 9. Eventually got past him at the snorkel and then cleared out. Eventually caught p5 and p6 who were clearly struggling with tyres. Got held up again and ended up with both the peanut and a friendly in a Mustang catching us. About half a lap of 5 way tussling resulted in the Mustang and I surviving a scuffle at the snorkel and emerging clear p5 and p6. The next 3 laps I put as much pressure on him as I could until eventually he made a mistake in the esses and I got him into the snorkel. Made it stick and then cleared to a second in front. A tense last lap saw me hold on for p5 and 162 points.
A really good start to the season for me. Loved the RSR and this track just creates good racing.

Good luck to everyone else going later, I am one and done.

My Viper is ready for the races tonight, if I can find the time to get on and get a race in. Mid-week races haven't been possible for me in recent times due to childcare, but we shall see! I ran some Q laps last night and was pretty happy with my time overall, my usual 2.5-3s off the top time, and ranked near the top of my friends list, so the Viper looks like a strong contender for the season ahead.

Going for the default liveries for this series, will keep the weird and wacky for the daily's for a change.

Fix up, look sharp as it goes.

Looking forward to the races, previous experiences tells me the Chevy should be fairly competitive if a little haeavy so will have to watch the exit on the chicane for one thing.

Pretty autumn colours for the win.

So after a long deliberation over who to sign for, I’ve decided to go boring and pick Mercedes. Haven’t signed for them before and I’ll only be doing one or two Gr.4 rounds so picking for the GR.3 car mainly. I fully expect to drop a load of DR and I’m terrible at Seaside too so doesn’t really matter what I’m driving

If anyone hasn’t picked their ride yet, go Corvette! Awesome car! (I just felt like I should change after 6 months).

My goal for this season…win at BMB! :)

After one year without using my PlayStation I'm finally back on GT Sport. And after my last three or four seasons in the Manufacturers Series with McLaren, I decided to change. I always liked the Corvette for how it looks, but I've never considered it that much, neither in dailys. I tested the gr3 in the last weeks and wow, it's so fast on the straights. Easy to drive, maybe with a bit of understeer on fast corners. For example I struggled a lot during the Daily Race B in SPA (few weeks ago I guess) and Eau Rouge was a nightmare. But overall a good car. In Fuji and Seaside I had no problems. For the upcoming race in Seaside I managed to do a low 36 on my first run in Free Practice (with soft of course). So not bad, the car seems fast there.
I don't know how much competitive can be the gr4 as I've never done a proper test with it.
Anyway if you have a cool livery for the Chevrolet Gr4 (with colors similar to the Gr3 version) let me know 🙂

Tyre wear has been turned off. Qualifying is now exactly like free practice.

I wouldn't know, because I've tried to enter the first slot and been disconnected.
Just been DC'ed too. Bah.
Interesting, is the fuel tank "empty" as well ?

Managed to catch last OZ slot and had a decent race, nothing special but no COD incidents and managed 14th to 10th. Only bit of excitement was when a guy who was doing about the same as me pitted for meds when I pitted for softs, I was now running an easy 2 secs a lap faster than him and he tries to block me, pens or no I wouldn't risk an idiot like that behind me so I sent him off to talk to Barry R. Not proud of my behaviour, but not feeling bad about treating cheaters as they deserve.

Well, I plebbed that up. Started off with a very poor qualifying. A sloppy first lap followed by trying to push under someone else's slipstream (hadn't practiced that!) resulted in a 1:37.1 when I've been doing low-mid 1:36s in practice.

I started on the Mediums 2 places behind @xxPinkyKissxx, and apparently the curse is still there. Despite being gentle into turn 1, I still went deep from the cold tyres and then spun trying to get over the kerb sending me all the way down to last place. With all the pushing I did (including a 9 lap stint on Softs to undercut a group that was fighting) and some deaths from others along the way I somehow made it all the way back up to P8. :odd:

I'm going again - I know I've got the pace for a win here!

Attempt 2 went much better, but talk about stressful. My heart is still pounding. :scared: I qualified P2 with a 1:36.706, 0.036s ahead of a Lexus in P3. The pole sitter had a 1:36.055, definitely a new account from the looks of it.

I thought I'd managed to pull away during the initial stint with P1 and P4 (who got past P3) as there was a big gap behind. Bit of a nasty surprise when the pit stops came though, because the Lexus who started P3 had done the Medium stint first and was charging us down hard.

I spent half the race with another Lexus (started P4) breathing down my neck. So much pressure. :ill: Then the last few laps, desperately trying to fight with/defend against the Lexus on Softs and an Alfa that came charging up at the very last lap. They must have all faltered in my dirty air because despite all of that I somehow managed to claim P2. It's the only explanation I have because I felt like a sitting duck!

End result, P2 and 185 points, not much less than my personal best. That's best start to a Manufacturer season I've ever had and I definitely had to work for it!!!

Ok so I feel sick right now. Can’t put into words how crushed I am after that :(

Was expecting a bottom half finish. Somehow put it 6th on the grid and potentially lost out on pole too on the final bend when I was 0.5 seconds up.

Race went great, no mistakes, was running in 4th before pit stops. Finished the race in 5th with an 8 second gap behind me. Then on the results page disconnected. Feel sick.

in with @Zorz too which was a bonus

Yep. No fuel, no tyres. Free practice for FIA races actually serves a purpose now.
Hmm are you sure ? Q time in slot 1 top split was 34.6 whereas top FP time is 34.2

I don't know, it just felt different in a lobby before but maybe it was just in my head (and an excuse for being slow).

I was wondering what happened, the results screen was very strange showing you in P16 but only 11 seconds off the winner. :odd: That's truly horrible though, I didn't realise it could kick people after registering their result!

The results were not yet confirmed from looking at the print screen. Feel bad Pinky!

So that's my first competitive race in seven months, and I get the feeling others were also the same as lap 1 was pretty much an "after you, sir" - "No sir, after you" and it was very well behaved (surprisingly!).

Qualifying went extremely well, I left myself a nice couple second gap to the car in front who messed up the chicane of death meaning I could grab a slip down the back straight that probably gave me an extra tenth or so. This was enough for a 1:36.7 to start second behind a Renault.

The first few laps were the top four of us pulling away a little from the rest with a few fights going on both in our group and behind. Lap 3 was the first and only major incident of the race where I missed my braking point accidentally sideswiped an Audi. No real harm done as everyone kept their poisition and penalties were not applied. Lap 4 said Audi started to spin on the first chicane from too much loud pedal and I didn't really have a choice but to hit him again as he span across my line. This caused me to come to a stop and have an Aston Martin overtake me.

At this point I was running third and would have been happy with the result, but the chicane of death had other plans... In my favour as said Aston Martin turned slightly too early and hit the left wall, careering him off in to the abyss. In front of me now was a BMW who I was fighting with earlier, but his pace on the worn tyres couldn't match mine and I easily overtook him on lap 6 after the esses. The rest of the race was just me keeping a constant pace on the mediums after pitting and letting the fighting behind give me a big enough gap so that I could take the time to grab an ice cream at the chicane of death and bring it home for my first victory!

Welcome to the Bowtie Brigade!

Well, 8 Supras in my slot, what a joke ! They finished top 4 + p6 in the end... they fly over the kerbs like a plane LOL

Anyway, Q10 - P8 (181 pts) for me in the Lancer, I could have fought for P5 if an infamous Italian hadn't decided to ruin the race of everyone around him, me included. He DNF'd of course.

I'll go again just to learn the car a bit more :)

@OJBrit what did you pick?
Go back a page and you'll see. Or you can read my report below...

So this was an annoying race. Seemed to really be first day back at school. I was given door 4 on my car and I had hopes as the Supra is generally a go to car around here.
I did my usual trick of leaving the pits after most people to find a gap. Didn't quite work this time as others were spreading out. I ended up behind a Spaniard in a Viper. I caught them at the worst place out of Seaside. They lifted more than I through the COD and that meant I glanced the wall coming out. My provisional lap was P6. I was going to back out of lap 2 as I was too close the the Viper. However I decided to see if the slip and a better run out of the COD would improve my time despite being slower in S1. Well the Spaniard mucked up the COD and I tangled with him as a consequence. So no improvement. I had at this time fallen to 10th.
Still plenty to play for. Grabbed my meds for stint 1.
Then the game screwed me over.
P1 to 8 drove off into the distance. P9 in a Beetle stood still. And as there is a hill the Beetle slowly but surely crept towards my car. As the countdown began the Beetle was now nudging me backwards causing the autodrive to go from 1st to reverse. Buy the time I realised I was going backwards into the melee of cars behind. Of course some stupid sod just drove on through and I was spun. Luckily I had 2 more unlucky souls behind. But I had lost some 6 seconds to the car ahead. However the practical group start and the nature of Dragon Trail caused chaos ahead and I was able to catch up to some cars who promptly went off in front of me by their own accord. I was on the trail of the Spaniard from earlier. I got past in the end with a better run through the esses. However I was hit going into Seaside and spun. This was the guy who kept spouting about fair play in the lobby screen and inadvertently ruined my qualy. (They did say sorry then.) I was fuming at them. However when I caught back up a couple of laps later they pulled over to pass me. Even though it did not look like an accident at the time it must have been. Kudos to you my friend.
I pit lap 7 for softs and had a quiet end to the race. The Beetle also pulled over later on so perhaps he knew he caused chaos earlier. Another death at the COD put me up to 10th in the end to recover back to where I started. Not bad in the end but the 20 seconds I must have lost throughout the race would have had me in the top 5 for sure. Ah well still not the worst result.

Slept a lot last night because work and not sleeping much the last two days weren't very good. Thought it was SSRX today so had a more rushed practice than I would have liked for a combo where the GT-R is actually good. Then I got disconnected even before the loading screen in slot one.

Still desperately trying to finish my dinner I went into slot two. Hit the chicane on my first qualifying lap, didn't do much better on the second one, started 16th. After starting in the final corner I had caught up to some cars part of the way through lap 1, before a guy put me into the wall in the first part of the chicane.

Got the head down and put in good laps from then until the end and passed a few people but ended up just behind a fairly big gaggle going for 6th by the end of it, I ended up 9th. Even in my terrible practice attempts I could easily have had the pace for a podium in what was a ~260 point race, so it's a bit annoying that my preparation was so bad. Couldn't they have picked that stupid Interlagos race to open the season?

One positive - even when I realised which race it was today I wasn't that motivated. I've achieved everything I realistically can in this game, and I wasn't really that bothered by the remaining races. I'll tell you what though, there's nothing like the frustration from a race that's going badly when you know you can do better to sharpen the mind. No ****ing chance am I having another race like that.

@xxPinkyKissxx you need a new internet provider, I don't think I could cope with some of your disconnects.

Didn’t want to completely waste my time so went again. Should’ve realised it’s a stupid idea racing in a bad mood. Poor qualifying lap put me 17th. Unlike my mistake free race earlier, this time I bounced off the left barrier coming out the CoD a few times losing more and more time. On Softs started making places back, had got up to 11th and then completely destroyed myself in the CoD, ending up facing the wrong way and car barely able to move. Back down to 17th with 4 laps to go. Got some places back towards the end to limit the embarrassment. Yes I regret going again.

That’s Sky internet for you! I’m on a Lan cable too so don’t know why I keep getting screwed over.
