Anyone that's doing that to me will be the victim of a dive come next corner.
That kind of racing isn't racing.
If you can't find a way past.without pushing the other one off you aren't really faster are you.

It's a good thing we race in different regions so I don't have to worry about a GTP member being a dirty driver.

Being a douche over a spot in an exhibition season is even more unexplainable.
So you are willing to destroy someone's race over a few measley points that means absolutely nothing?
Sigh…

If you read any of my FIA race reports, you’ll clearly see I’m anything, if not a clean driver. My quarrel is mainly with B rated lobbies (which my euro acct is currently at). Under the current penalty system, anything goes in those lobbies. Every once in a while you get someone that understands race craft. But in general, a signal from me to them conveying for us to work together… is interpreted by them to dive bomb me the next turn as I take a wide, arcing, momentum-carrying line into the next corner

And fwiw, I have been in several lobbies with you over the years in both the Euro and N/A servers. It’s always been good clean fun 👍🏼.

Jamming home from work right now (commiefornia time) to try to make the first euro slot. Don’t think I’m gonna make it. But I’m excited for this round! Probably the most excited I’ve been in a while fir an FIA race

Well that was something, I somehow managed to spin on my qualifying lap and started 18th. Start went ok and was sat in 15th most of the lap as others went off. Stopped lap one for a stop and go to rejoin and gain a couple spots. Then got held up for a lap and a bit by an RCZ. Final lap and I was nudged off accidentally by a fellow Cayman who had a 1.5 second penalty and also gave the Mazda behind slipstream. They then proceeded to briefly pass me before braking way to late and tried to take me out for some reason. Finished P10 in the end as 2 cars ahead didn't stop. Taking my points and running as there's not much if any racing.

A frustrating race from me. Starting 12th (ie before the last corner) and getting held up a bit and getting a penalty on the first lap didn't help, but pitting on lap 1 and doing the undercut did:

The poor guy in the Evo was behind me for all of lap 2. I feel as if I could have done better if I wasn't worn out from spending the whole day practicing and if just a few corners here and there had been better, but I don't feel as bad after seeing the replay and the carnage that unfolded behind me. Made one position from someone who didn't make a pit-stop and was complaining about it in the chat. Honestly, who does FIA races these days without reading here or watching Mistah MCA videos?

I swear this course has it in for me on Group 4. I didn't understeer off like I did with the Mustang last time this combo came up, but I did get pushed off by an Audi at the exact same place.

That then set me up for a world of pain, being constantly screwed over by other's mistakes. Sigh. Video later, after I go again... :guilty:

Had an OK Euro race, Q8 and finished 6th mostly racing a clean guy and binning the guy that pushed him off for absolutely no reason. Not great but one and done not risking another shot.
Noticed t mid B most are fueling so managed an extra position in the viper as I was just OK even with no real effort to save.

Jaguar at the Nordschleife. 12th for 102 points.

I wasn't going to bother with this race despite making a return to the game. I'm truly useless at this track, but ended up entering anyway because what's the worst that can happen?

Qualified 17th, mainly because everyone below me didn't submit a time. Lap was a little congested after someone had crashed but even without that I'd still have been slow.

Gained a quick position at the start as someone hadn't got their TCS set. Picked up another few courtesy of collisions. Rest of the race was relatively quiet. Had a brief battle at the end with a Slovakian who I think dipped some wheels into the grass and went off at the curves at the end of the long straight.

Pleasantly surprised with the result. The points may not ultimately matter, but at the very least I gained some more Nordschleife experience

Was not expecting much from this one as pace didn't seem so great in practice.
Quali lap was clean but I didn't take any big risks and it put me P13 on the grid with a time that was better than I thought it'd be.
Race was pretty quiet, I couldn't really stay with the cars in front all the way and the cars behind didn't really get close enough to challenge. Gained a couple positions from others' misfortunes and in the end P11. Not a great but I don't think I did any major mistakes so I don't think it could've been too much better than that in that race so can't complain too much really other than for my own lack of pace.

Replay

A good race this one.
Managed to get perfect space for my qualy lap so was able to run in clean air and push. I did lose 2 seconds with a mistake and my 7:15.347 was enough for 2nd initially. However as others crossed the line I was 7th. 4 cars including me set a time in the 15.34's meaning it was theoretically tight around me. The aim was to play cautious and gain from other's mistakes. Save fuel in slip but not actively do it outside of that.
Start was good. I had to swerve to avoid the Aston ahead who decided to get going a few seconds after everyone else. Soon I was up to 4th as a WRX slid off into Aremburg. I followed the others around for the next two laps. The WRX caught up and barged past me but on reflection it wasn't as bad as I initially thought. I pitted lap 2. Only for a splash of fuel as my tyres were still o.k. I emerged still in 4th having gained a little. However lap 3 I made some stupid mistakes. First I understeered at the kink after Fuchsrohre. I kept it from spinning and only lost 0.5 to 1 second and no places. Then after I swing around Metzgesfeld I am distracted and miss my braking point. Bang! Head first into the barrier. :dunce: I drop 2 places and I am now behind another Gr86. I follow until the Karussell where the 86 ahead spins as they enter the slot. My car tries to follow but I hold it with little issue. Strange we both had wobbles on this lap at the same point. I am now 6th for the remainder of the lap and I hold it with no further incident.
However I gain a place as the Pole who crossed in first gets the penalty. So 5th it is. Very happy with that. Pretty clean from what I gather too.
20211110_181433.jpg

who does FIA races these days without reading here or watching Mistah MCA videos?
Or looking at the race info. Asking for trouble really.

Wow. What an absolute horror show!!! After qualifying 6th, I got into 5th on the first corner, managed about 5 bends before the ramming brigade caught up and ran me off track. Spun at the carousel and found myself 18/19 after only half a lap! Pitted end of first lap, managed to recover to 9th, then more rammers on the 2/1 strategy caught up and ran me off again. Ended up 13th. Shouldn't have bothered!!

To be honest, this has annoyed me so much I may just give up on FIA races completely. I barely get the time to do any races and when I do I'm just barged off track by obnoxious *******, so it's not really worth getting excited about. Really left me with a bitter taste, this one.

Main issue was getting home in time. Had an evening shift till 22.00 hrs, event starting 22.20 and the ride home was about 20 minutes.
So my wife plugged in the cable, turned the PS4 on and entered the race for me before going to sleep. Thank so much, my love!!!
I got home just in time to start qualifying, after feeding the cat to prevent him from bothering me again while racing.

B lobby, door no 8. Made a new livery as i needed a lighter colour car for a better view while driving.
I qualified as 7th with a lap that included me going of track costing well over 2.5 seconds. Not a good start of the lap but relaxed and did not rush the rest of it. Was in total 4 seconds slower then my free practice lap. Without the mishap I think I would have been 5th.

Start went okay, gained one position and first lap was pretty much incident free, except for a fast but very rude Cayman passing me by bumping me midd corner. Almost went off track into the barrier but barely managed to stay on track.
Pitted end lap 1, no new tyres. second lap pretty much incident free, driving in free air and after the rest did their stop I was in 8th starting the final lap. So others were obviously faster then me so settled for that 8th place. gained one position though when a Peugeot crashed.
At the start of the last lap a German Aston was about 2 seconds behind me. During the whole lap he slowly got closer till he got into slipstream range, my final corners before the long straight were very much okay though, and i went from a 0.7 seconds to a 1.0 seconds lead meaning he barely missed the slipstream on the final straight. I am comfortable doing the last section so relaxed, braked in time and went over the finish in 7th. Knew by then the Aston was a clean driver so was not worried one bit for a desperate divebomb.

So, not a very eventful race it might have been, but while actually driving this track it constantly feels very hectic. Think that again I had the maximum result, just like in my previous races. Really liking the Jaguars so far....

Do hope that next year I will be able to visit the real Nordschleife again, like i do at least once a year...

I guess I read it the wrong way, sorry about that. I have been racing you several times and it has always been fun.

I was in the situation you speak of earlier in the third slot in EMEA, unfortunately I couldn't give way because there where 4 cars coming up behind me together, 2-3 wide and slugging it out among them, no one would let anyone pass.
Eventually they ran me off.
I passed them when they refueled, I just made a stop and go

I suspect I read you wrong just because it's anything goes there now. The common denominator is really low
I blain PD for that. Removal of the pen system was a nail in the coffin.
I guess they don't care anymore

Something has to be done with both Toyotas, it's just a joke at this point. 4 in the top 6 in my race...

Anyway, I finally decided to try and learn that awesome but humbling track and that helped me put a decent qualy lap in the Evo.
Unfortunately I made bad decisions + one mistake just before the straight at the end of lap 2 that made me drown from 3rd to 7th in the middle of a group of dirty drivers, so that was it.

I really feel like the BoP in gr4 could get some useful tweaks but I guess I'll have to wait and hope for GT7 to take the Manu series more srriously. For now, I'm happy to give it a go on my Alt to try out new things and race at a lower heartrate :P

Despite my extremely meager results, I had an absolute blast preparing for this round! Nurburgring is a track I enjoy hot lapping (albeit I go off at least 10 times a lap), but I never race it because I don’t know the track at all. I was going to be off of work for this round, so I figured what the hell? I’ll put in a few hours of practice throughout the week and give it the ol’ college try.

Slot 3 euro region, door 9, qualified 12, B/S lobby

Qualified with a sloppy 7:21x. That’s good for me on this course. Race time, green flag flies and the guy in front of me must’ve been painting his toenails or something, because he didn’t hit the throttle and I plowed right into the back of him.

The beginning of the lap was exactly as expected….. a bloodbath. Pretty soon I was punted to 16th place (after originally gaining a few positions from others mistakes). Decided to fuel save and pit lap 1.

Lap 2 I was by myself and had a few minor off’s…. Nothing major tho. Fuel saving was the name of the game.

Beginning of lap 3, p4-8 are all exiting right in front of me. I ghost through 6th, 7th and 8th…. But don’t make it through the whole group. Crazy tho. Literally one more second earlier and I would have had a podium within my grasp provided that I could link together a clean lap.

It was no matter tho. Within about 1 1/2 minutes, I was punted repeatedly out of the top 10. Later I got pit-maneuvered at the first carousel, and ran out of fuel down the end of the back straight. I guess short shifting wasn’t good enough.

Next slot, door 5, no qually.

Got obliterated on the outlap and qualifying lap. Tempted to rage quit but after 7 of those last week at Monza, I learned my lesson. SR ratings don’t like poor sports. So in leu of rage quitting completely. I only rage-quitted half way. I went back to the pits and pouted while everyone finished up

Race starts with me in DFL, but I gain 5 positions right away as the impending wreck fest unfolds. The rest of lap 1, I settle in behind some dudes and go fuel map 2 the entire way. I utilize the same strategy as my previous race and pit at lap 1…. No fuel or tires.

Lap 2 was the same as last race, except that I only make it up to 8th as people exit the pits.

Lap 3 was another massacre. I got punted and shoved. I had plenty of self inflicted wounds. I did my very best to fuel save, but alas…. I ran out of fuel again. At least it was right in front of the finish line tho.

However, I ended up in 14th. Well, second to last if I’m being honest. I think 4 people quit throughout the race 😂

At any rate, I really enjoyed the preparation for this race. Now I know the track decent enough where I won’t avoid it anymore on the dailies.

Buuuuut…. (And there’s always a ‘but’), I’m done playing fair in the B class. I’ve had this account close to the A’s, multiple times, only to go on a DR-death-spiral in the rock-em-sock-em’ B lobbies. No more patty cake. I’m getting this account to the A’s one way or another. I want to enjoy this FIA season

Oh yea…full disclosure. I missed a braking point and punted a guy. Gave the position right back. I got by him shortly after…. He punted me 30 seconds later but he didn’t yield back 🤣

All good brother 👍🏼. I blame PD too. Literally no clue why they hit the eject button on the penalty system

Today has been pure masochism. I'm far too stubborn.

Attempt 1
I qualified P7 with a 7:06.941 and stole a position before turn 1 because the Audi in front bogged right down. The Audi seemed to take extreme offence to that and my being cautious through sector 1 on cold Hards because I got dived through Hatzenbach and then ultimately pushed off at Schwedenkreuz. After dooming myself by taking Schwedenkreuz too fast last time I did Gr.4 Nordschleife as Ford, I was not amused to say the least.

That dropped me down to P10 with dirty tyres, no slipstream and an unhappy train right behind me. With my composure gone from anger at the Audi, I barely held on until Kleines Karussell where I make a mistake, drop down to P13 and then lose a huge amount of time trying to get through Galgenkopf with freshly re-grassed tyres.

I pit at the end of lap 1, thinking I may as well get that over with now, and come out behind a Corvette and McLaren, with a Mercedes behind me in P20 just out of slipstream range. The McLaren gets Hatzenbach all sorts of wrong and bounces across the track forcing me and the Corvette to slam anchors on, before then holding up the train.

The Corvette then runs wide through the long down-right-hander between Kallenhard and Wehrseifen, and I get past at Ausfahrt Briedscheid. However, I've got a Corvette and a Mercedes right behind me all the way up Kesselchen and I don't have a tow so the Mercedes easily goes straight past.

Fast forward on to Galgenkopf and a different Mercedes that we'd been catching (who has a penalty) hits the kerb and bounces around before managing to catch it directly in my path. I lose momentum and the Corvette is now right back in the tow after I had broken it. With my momentum loss and the strength of the slipstream, both the Corvette and the Mercedes go straight past me down the Dottinger Hohe.

I eventually crossed the line in P16, but got promoted up to P14 due to people who hadn't gone into the pits.

Attempt 2
My rule is if I felt I did my best, I'll take whatever result comes my way. Getting taken out or making a stupid mistake means going again.

This time I qualified P10 with a 7:08.006, but I shot myself in the foot here. I ran wide through Hatzenbach on the hot lap and picked up a track limits penalty, so goodbye all that speed down the Dottinger Hohe. :banghead:

I maybe should have missed this one because I hadn't calmed down from the first one. I got Aremberg a bit wrong and collided with a Porsche, but thankfully he/she stayed on track. I lost a couple of positions ensuring the Porsche stayed in front which is only fair.

Fast forward to lap 3 and I get it all sorts of sideways through Hatzenbach before exiting stage left and getting a barrier collision penalty. :banghead: Ended up P12 at the line.

Attempt 3
Third time has to be the charm, right? I started P9 with a 7:07.103 and send tribute to the traction control gods for preventing my race from ending near immediately going around the pit wall off the grid start.

A Toyota loses it through Hatzenbach so quickly up to P8, then up to P7 halfway through lap 1 when a Lexus gets very squirrelly coming out of the Caracciola-Karussell. Good start so far, before then moving up to P6 after another Hyundai served a penalty. I have a Subaru very, very close up my rear bumper throughout the first third of the lap. I was expecting him/her to sail past me through Kesselchen and wasn't going to fight it, but instead I get punted off right before at Bergwerk and spin out. To add insult to injury, I couldn't get the car to turn to face the right way for a while because of how narrow the barriers are there...

Very much not happy at this point. Then just to top it off, on the last lap I catch up with a BMW who'd spun coming out of the Caracciola-Karussell. The BMW keeps sliding sideways as though its a drift competition before missing the braking point for the right-hander before Schwalbenschwanz, going onto the grass then immediately coming straight back across and blocking me on the racing line. I get pushed off onto the gravel and lose two more positions, but then gain one back because the Toyota that dropped it at the start does it again at Galgenkopf. I cross the line in P18.

Attempt 4
Tired and fed up always makes for a good racing experience.

I qualified P9 again with a 7:07.074 and lap 1 is uneventful. My line through Adenauer Forst is a little sloppy so the train in front of me broke away, leaving me with a Corvette who took full advantage of me to fuel save. I break off to pit at the end of lap 1 and the Corvette continues on. It's undercut time. Very few people went into the pits on lap 1 so I got all the space in the world going through lap 2.

At the start of lap 3 I discover my undercut was successful, but the Corvette had greater pace over the lap and got back into my slipstream. At the Dottinger Hohe the game was up and the chase was finally over, with me finishing P8 for 159 points and a clean race bonus. I finally got the race I wanted, and looking at the times I wouldn't have done much better even if I had achieved my best race time from practicing, P6/P7 at most.

My DR has taken a bit of a pounding, but at least the last slot ended up working out. I made sure to thank the Corvette for the race afterwards as well, as that was a close one.

Two and done for me on the Americas server.

Worked all damn week trying to find a pace and didn't even do any test races with people because of it.

Last night I started putting down optimums in the 7:03 range and clicked off 7:05.1 in FP but couldn't piece it together. I guess it's not bad for just learning the track this week.

First race A/S lobby Q #4 tried an undercut in P5 which was a horrible idea. Through the back esses some boner almost spun then of course barreled back Into the line pushing me of. Sat for a bit as the pack passed finished 16.

Second race.

Due to nerves I qualified P2 at my suprise considering I was off pace by a good 1.5. I wish I could be more composed but having a panic disorder in a stressful environment doesn't help.

Anyway. RCZ was P1 I actually hole shot well and went past him in T1 only to get pushed wide in T3 from the back from a chain reaction punt. I fell back to 6 and decided to just run my race and relax.

Considering the Q times I didn't fuel save and just drove. By the middle of the second lap I made my way to P3. Pitted for fuel and just kept a good pace. I could have pushed harder and caught 1 and 2 but had to focus on a 458 almost within striking distance and decided third was good enough.

So I got my first FIA podium on the hardest damn track and 2 gr4 races ever. I'll be happy with that.

I like these Nordschleife races, the track is amazing to drive but to pass you have to be patient and then decisive when the moment comes.

Entered slot 1, and put in a sort of ok qualy time of 7:03.0 which started me 10th, with a Ferrari mate behind me (so I knew he wouldn't do anything silly - and we tend to race quite well together).

To cut a long story short, I towed the Ferrari around for two laps until the pit stop, he jumped me, we were gaining on a bunch of cars that had pitted L1 and even though I was 10th with under half a lap left I felt I could still take 8th, maybe better, then the Evo ahead of me that we'd reeled in had a couple of moments and we'll call this a misjudgement on his part...

I didn't want to make a move around the outside, just to compromise his line into the corner and then maybe get the cut back for the next right hander. Anyway, that was that for the race and 11th place it was.

However, I could go again, so did in slot 2

A better qualy lap of 7:02.5 put me 7th, and I got a great launch off the line, almost going past a Toyota around the outside in T1, I yielded, we settled down and I noticed very quickly that I'd got grip - the tyres weren't freezing! So I stayed nicely in the tow of the group ahead and we dropped the cars behind. Going down the back 'straight', a train of four cars ahead meant I wasn't overtaking anyone so I put it into 7th, got the fuel map up to 6, saved everything... corner approaching... 6th... FM5, 4, 3, 5th, FM2... "5TH IS WRONG!!", 6th... FM1, lift... "oh BALLS!!" Too many buttons in too short a time! I was over 10mph slower through that fast left hander than I should have been, in the wrong gear for such a low speed, and lost the tow to the group ahead! Starting to push to get back with them, the group dropped the Toyota, who on L2 made a mistake approaching Bergwerk, took to the middle of the track and while I did get the inside I made a right mess of it, we were both passed by a GT-R, I followed the GT-R past the Toyota then we stayed in situ until the pit stops, where my frugal first half a lap paid dividends and a shorter stop than both the Nissan and Toyota saw me exit the pits with a 1s advantage, which I opened up for the remainder of the race to finish 6th and rake in a nice 282 pts

On to BMB, where the Ferrari appears to be incredibly off the pace! Having 75hp less than the McLaren should help with fuel consumption at least...

2021 FIA Manufacturers Exhibition Round 4
Nurburgring Nordschliefe
Americas - Slot 1
Door 5 - DR A+/SR S

I read a few reports about PD screwing things up by removing the penalties. Which, I agree with at times. However, they quite literally destroyed my race strategy in this race.

Qualy was my better than all my practice raraces as I ran a 7:07.4xx. Good for p10. Which, wasn't too good a starting spot for my best qualy. But, I had a plan. Short shift the M4 and pit lap 2. No tires, no fuel. Then ry to jump them in the pits.

Race went well. It was clean, no major issues or mis-steps until the pit stop. I was FORCED to take fuel. What kind of crap is that. OH well, everyone plays by the same rules. If I could've not added any fuel (I added as little as possible) I could have maybe jumped one driver but would've definitely been in the slip of P5-P7. Instead, I was out of the slip of P7 all on my own.

Finished p8, and was happy with my racing. Made one mistake, not a terrible one, cost a a second or so and p7 in the end. 189 Points, and no point in racing again since that was my top effort. Then I watch Mike Groves stream....and I noticed he wasn't required to take fuel on LAP 1!!! WTF PD. I had 33% fuel, PRECICELY what I wanted. Ugh, what the hell.

Slot 1: Qualified 12th, and nearly had my race ruined at T2 when a Mercedes in front of me ran off track on cold tires, rejoined in front of me (not that he could do much to avoid that at that part of the track), then went off at the next corner on cold AND dirty tires and clipped the rear of my car, nearly spinning me. Ultimately I got back up to 12th when @F1Bernardo ran out of fuel at the finish and I was just able to take 11th.

Slot 2: Qualified a surprising 7th, and jumped up to 5th after the 2 directly in front of me got a terrible start. I made a stupid error at the beginning of Lap 2 and that dumped me back down to 7th. After pitting I rejoined in 9th due to burning way more fuel than I was intending, but I still had a chance to snatch 7th or better, when this happened:
I managed to recover 4 spots on the back straight alone, including the Jag that started that whole mess after they slowed down, I guess because they felt guilty about it. I finished 11th and knew I could do WAY better.

Slot 3: I could only manage 9th in qualifying this time, but felt I could make up at least 2 spots to get the minimum amount of points I was aiming for. I had a good first 2 laps in spite of a lot of pressure from an Evo, then pitted and re-emerged in 10th, and promptly spun myself on the outside curb of T1 🤬 :dunce:. I'd taken that corner exactly the same way dozens of previous times, but for some reason the car's rear end didn't want to grip now...I forgot how many positions I lost...maybe 5. I decided against quitting right there just in case I could take advantage of other mistakes (even though it would require an improbably large amount of people to make mistakes for me to salvage a good result). When it was clear this race was a total waste, I decided to park off to the side and let the game DQ me, then decided to finish so I could at least see the replay and figure out how/why I spun. Finished P16.

Slot 4: Qualified 4th, which promptly became 3rd since the car directly in front of me was a Peugeot 🤣 . The Peugeot tried to defend the inside into T1, but was too slow to get there and I squeezed through. They wanted to fight extremely hard though, and we swapped sides for the first 3 corners until I finally cleared him. I held 3rd for the remaining 99% of the race until an Alfa caught my slipstream going down the long straight on the final lap, then was able to use its better braking and cornering to take the spot, so I finished where I started in 4th for 263 points (my 2nd-best Manufacturer's points tally ever) and was FINALLY able to call it a night. I was a bit frustrated to have 3rd taken away so late in the race, but I finally had a race where I wasn't screwed over by others or by my own stupid mistakes. This was also the first time I'd even scored over 200 points at the Nordschleife...

Dredges Alt Adventures: Chapter 5.

The Canadian doctor took the WRX out for a spin on the Nordschleife in NA slot 4. 9135/99 gave him door 8 in a mostly C/S lobby with 2 B/S drivers up top.

Jumped out for qualy as early as possible and found myself 8th in a strung out chain. I progressively (but very quickly) caught 2-7 on the track and by the back straight on the out lap I had overtaken everyone (carefully and cleanly) to be first on the road. Flying lap went smoothly and a 7:07.5xx was almost 7 seconds quicker than Q2, also in the WRX.

The race itself was great fun. I went out carefully but quickly on cold tyres and P2 followed a respectable distance behind. By Flugplatz I was 1 second clear of 2nd and it was at least 4 seconds back to 3rd. At that point I moved into extreme fuel saving mode and concentrated on staying far enough in front of 2nd that he couldn’t use my slipstream whilst saving as much fuel as possible. When I hit Dottinger Hohe for the first time I had a 3 second gap and 72% of a tank. I bumped it to FM6 and watched the chasing WRX wind in about a second by the start finish line. Lap 2 was a similar affair but this time I was even more frugal and P2 remained in the 4-6 second range. The rest of the field were a good 20 seconds further back.

Pitted on lap 2 with a 4 second gap and 34% left. P2 came in with 19% left. The only other car that appeared to be fuel saving was a Cayman in 4th.

Stop and go and I exited 9 seconds in front of P2. Lap 3 was a nice calm procession until Kesselchen and Klostertal where I decided to be conservative and use FM6 so I wasn’t fretting about running out of fuel. As I approached the right hander before the Karussel I attempted to shift back to FM1 but bumped the share button on my G29. It was so unexpected it took me good few seconds to process why I was seeing a PS4 menu on the side of the screen. By the time I worked out what was going on I had entered the Karussel under auto drive at a ridiculously slow pace. I waited until exit before resuming control and checked the gap. Down from 10 seconds to 6 seconds.

Head down, bum up for the rest of the lap I crossed the line with a gap of 9 seconds to P2, fastest lap and a clean race. 49 points in the bag.

My Canadian alter ego is now up to 12152/99, has 68 points in Manu and is the 4th ranked driver in British Columbia.

I'm running the Manufacturers on my Alt account this season.
My first slot was a nightmare, I plebbed quali and went off the track which resulted in a 7:10 lap starting me 12th -
I then had a brain out moment and jumped the start which relegated me to last (20th) I managed to recover to 12th, but it wasn't a great points haul, so decided to run again - an error free quali saw a 7:06 which placed me 5th on the grid - I got jumped at the start by an SLS which I then tucked in behind to save fuel and bump drafted him on most of the longer straights - on lap 2 he made an error coming onto the back straight so I went past expecting him to repay the favour and give me a bump - no such luck he decided to overtake bringing another Aston behind through too....
I cleared him in the pits as I didn't change tyres or need any fuel and came out in 4th behind the Aston, the last lap was fairly uneventful apart from picking up an extra spot from a 718 who ran out of fuel on the start finish straight!

FIA at the Ring:

Qualified 13th in the Cayman, after a tentative lap that was ruined by my darn TV turning off again, mid-lap! That cost me 3.5 sec, with the auto-drive slowing me down... would have qualified a solid 8th without that issue, which wasn't bad given I was #18 in a lobby of people I hardly knew (at 40k DR).

Raced up to 7th before pitting on lap two, relatively clean and by the book, enjoyed the drive in fact. Saved fuel perfectly in the efficient Porsche, after noticing I could get away without refueling after lap 1 (even on map #1 for that whole first lap with no specific effort to save fuel other than keeping it down a bit on the apexes, also to avoid going off).

I noticed everyone else who pitted as I did needed fuel, so I was feeling good about this result as I pulled in to the pits.

But here's the great part: having patted myself on the back as I pulled into the pits after lap two with 35% fuel left, I CHANGED MY HARDLY-WORN HARD TIRES FOR FRESH HARD TIRES. What a dummy!

I think this cost me 3 spots, as there were three cars immediately ahead of me as we exited...

Ran home a clean 10th, unable to pass those cars and all of us having run a solid final lap.

So just a handful of DR, probably throw-away FIA points, but a fun race at the Ring as always. Could lap there all day. Really can't beat it for a nice drive.

(oh, and I had some weird frame rate drop / lag in my first race... made it hard to really pin the apex for the first couple of laps. Nearly binned it a few times and fell into the potential clutches of the Ferrari following me as I was off the pace because of it for a while. Never experienced that at the Ring before, only at the Miyabi track for some reason)

Ran one race in a Ferrari on my Alt at 27k DR... had a battle with a VW who was wicked fast (7:04 qualifying time), and even though I didn't need to refuel and he surely either changed tires or had worn ones at the end, I could not keep up after we exited the pits bumper-to-bumper for the final lap. A fun P2 on the Alt again... both times I've run an FIA race on the Alt at this lower DR have been more fun races than my main account ones... though this guy was a bit dirty, it was a fun scrap and I gave him everything I could as we pulled a gap on the rest of the field. 4th was 30 sec behind or I would have gifted it to a GTP and GT Sport friend (@CJam) that I recognized in that race.

Pretty straightforward race at the Ring in Manufacturer slot 1 in the Americas last night. Always look forward to racing there, and always have an eye on the podium.

Made a small mistake in qualy and laid down a very average 7:10 but it wouldn't have mattered as the pole sitter spanked us all with a 7:03 and I would line up in 3rd, but just a fraction off 2nd place. Looking good so far.

The first lap formed a 4 car breakaway group with the pole guy getting away from us. 4th binned it after the carousel so it was just me and a fellow Canadian battling for 2nd, we weren't going to catch the leader.

Stayed on 2nd's bumper for the rest of the way, trying to save a little fuel. Made our pit stops after lap 2 and came out line-astern but we'd lost a place to someone who obviously didn't pit. Figured I'd wait to the final straight to make a move unless the Canadian made a mistake - which he did! Just a slight off which was enough to cleanly get by around half way around the final lap. Even caught and passed the no stop guy who was nursing both fuel and tires, but that was as far as I could get. The leader was 10 seconds up the road.

So brought the Jag home for a solid 2nd place, and a season high equaling 159 points and a cool 1220 DR ~ 35.7K DR.
