Why did they have to go FCY? It looked like both cars got going again.

Even if the cars got underway, they probably need to inspect/fix the safety barriers and sweep the track for possible debris and sand etc.

Then they need to do a pit stops for all classes, starting with the Dpi's.

After that they need to re-arrange the cars so that all cars in all classes are in correct running order before they can continue racing.

#91 LMP3 spinning at the bus stop but is able to continue driving.

Damn those Caddies sound sweet when leaving the pitlane. :embarrassed:

The problem with Daytona is there really isn’t much runoff space combined with the high speed. It’s very dangerous to send track workers out even under local caution conditions.

That certainly doesn’t excuse the way IMSA has set up the caution procedure for this race though.

So RLM said that the delayed caution was initially caused by the pace car going too slow. It going too slow lead to the jumbled mess due to releasing cars in the pits that was the reshuffling debacle of that caution. Worth noting that Beaux Barfield himself (IMSA race director) told RLM (IMSA Radio) that.

Am I the only one in here?
Thanks to a slight snow storm moving in to where I live, I lost the cable signal on about 3/4's of my channels (I don't know why it didn't affect every channel, just every one I was interested in watching). It happened naturally right at 11pm on the dot as the coverage came back onto NBCSN. Suffice it to say, I haven't seen anything in hours.

Blame Murphy and his law for that.

Happened so far:

At some point (missed it myself, only saw the replay) the #5 Cadillac made contact with the #16 Porsche at the first corner and spend time on the pits after that. Currently working its way back in order.

The bus stop was twice the hot spot for two different cars making unplanned stops there, resulting in full course yellows and safety cars.

that is pretty much all. Missed the point when the Acura took the lead.
