With the high number of GT cars in the field this year, I hadn't noticed the lack of Audi, but now that you mention it, it is really weird.

I knew Magnus switched to a Lamborghini last year I think and then I saw the #39 was also a Lambo this year and I think it was an Audi last year. That's what got me to start looking for an Audi then I checked timing and scoring and saw there weren't any. It does seem odd having a GT race without a R8 in it.

That's a good job from the driver of the #69 to get that car an entire lap around on a flat tire without doing any body damage.

EDIT Apparently the tire carcass might have wrapped itself around the rear suspension so the car is going behind the wall.

Can someone with a working twitter account ask the Imsaradio hosts, why the lightbar on that safety car is so far back and angled backwards?

Not to blind the following drivers or some other reason?

Looks a bit weird to me.

#54 stopped in the middle of the Le Mans chicane lawn.

#97 steam coming from under the hood, maybe not puncture after all, but something more serious. Overheating or oil-leak? Gets pushed behind the pitwall.

#02 has gone behind the pitwall.

car stopped at the second hairpin.

FCY and safety car.

02 Cadillac is in the garage

Edit: Fuel pump issue.
Meanwhile, the camera shots of the sunrise are quite spectacular.

Morning is here!

Safety cars lights are off, we are going green.

Both #11 and #22 spin at the first turn at the same time.

Waking up now. Hearing the 48 had an incident and is out of the running. That sucks. Looks like the second Lexus is still in the fight so that’s good. Also reading this thread, seems like it’s been a caution fest the past few hours.

Certainly been an action packed Daytona 24hr so far. Quite a high attrition rate with the array of cautions, but it has not dulled the racing we've had.

With 4 DPi's left on the lead lap, it's a case of 2 Acura's vs 2 Cadillac's, as evenly matched as they have been all race. Good to see the #60 running strong upfront, likewise the #10 now it's got it's laps back 👍.

With six hours of racing to go, your current class leaders are:

DPi: #10 Konica Minolta Acura (Ricky Taylor)
LMP2: #8 Tower Motorsport Oreca (Ferdinand von Habsburg)
LMP3: #54 CORE Autosport Ligier (Colin Braun)
GTD Pro: #2 KCMG Porsche (Laurens Vanthoor)
GTD: #21 AF Corse Ferrari (Toni Vilander)

Front-left puncture for the #42 NTE Lambo. Looks like it happened under braking for turn 1. Struggling to get back to pit road with extra bodywork damage.

Full course yellow seems to have been brief; #32 and #57 Mercedes having a great scrap on the infield.

Alexander Rossi has had an off-track excursion in the #10 Acura, but keeps it going.

Top 3 in DPi separated by less than 1.5 seconds: Castroneves (#60), then Rossi (#10) and Conway (#31).

#57 Mercedes in the pits and behind the wall.

Rossi fighting Castroneves for the lead in true IndyCar fashion!

Rossi seems to have dropped back as the leaders work their way through traffic. Conway in the #31 Caddy is catching up fast despite losing out on the speedway this last lap.

Good to see the #01 back out on track after the wiring loom issues that dropped it out of leading contention.

Conway does it! The #31 Whelen car snatches the overall lead at Turn 6 behind traffic!

Not for long, though, as Conway comes into pit road for a regular service.

#01 going slow on the inner tarmac. More problems for that Cadillac crew, it seems.
