Race wasn’t the greatest but Rossi at least tried making it interesting. I’m still torn about whether I’m happy we’re done with Belle Isle or not since the Detroit layout isn’t exactly great.

On a side note Peacock is getting worse every week, aside from there being no side-by-side it randomly cut (albeit briefly) to a commercial with 3 to go.

I wasn't able to watch the race live, so I went to watch the VOD on Peacock and it had ton of commercial breaks marked on the timeline. I ended up just watching the five minute highlights on YouTube because I didn't want to sit through so many damn ads. 🤦‍♂️

For a second there I thought Grosjean might have gotten in an accident that wasn't his fault and it threw me off guard.

It's a good thing he made sure to hit more people to wash that away.

Yeah what an absolute torrid day for Andretti Autosport. Not sure what was going through Rossi's mind....multiple coming together with Grosjean and also pushing DeFrancesco off the track. I suppose Rossi could care less now that he's leaving the team. The radio exchange between Grosjean and the team when he was asked to protect Rossi was amusing to say the least. And why didn't they pit Herta during that last caution is beyond me, maybe they were hoping for another caution later, but that effectively put Herta in a position just to be punted off by Grosjean.

Great recovery drive from Power, feel sorry for O'Ward though; he could and should have won that race.

It really is impressive how heavily the Iowa race is being promoted and how determined they are to make it a success. I know it's just a couple practice sessions, but up to this announcement they were charging $20 to get in on Friday (they are refunding it for those that already purchased Friday tickets). Combined with the concerts and a food truck competition it really seems like if Iowa's return isn't a success there really is no hope for the track.

Man, I wish Iowa wasn’t as far from me as it is. Would definitely be going if it wasn’t.

Today has just been all kinds of weird.

I honestly hope this is the start of a proper rivalry, which is something the series very much needs.

It’s interesting how he’s been announced as a McLaren Racing driver, not just as a AMSP driver.

Palou's not gonna do himself in good stead with Ganassi if this gets ugly. Worst case scenario I feel is Chip could end up parking Palou for the rest of the season if he believes this amounts to insubordination after the team triggered the extension clause.

Maybe finish the year with Bourdais, RHR and/or TK (depending on which weekends they're available) in the 10.

I don't see Chip being that vindictive, guys actually pretty lowkey. He's one of the few owners you can find wandering around the infield at the concession stands mainly . He's pretty friendly, but then again, what you see on the outside very well changes on the inside.

I hope they don't treat Alex like crap. That would send a wakeup call to NTT, especially since the guy got you a championship.

Looks like CGR will at least let Palou finish the season, but with how the situation transpired, I don’t see how he can continue with the team next season, especially with the contractual mess he's now involved himself in. I think there’s a possibility that he may replace Ricciardo at McLaren (unless Ricciardo starting to improve massively or his contract with McLaren is water tight), because I have not read that AMSP plans to field more than 2 cars in Indycar next season. If AMSP will not field more than 2 cars next season, then the only logical explanation for Palou to sign with McLaren would be the F1 seat (don't think he would be interested in their Formula E seat).

Sadly the Toronto street circuit looks kinda rundown, and they don't make use of the SAFER barriers. Too bad the race will be on Peacock, but I’m expecting some fireworks between the Andretti teammates again :)

I went to this race in 2019 and I wasn’t impressed by the venue. It was a hot and humid concrete jungle.

The place looks terrible. The walls have paint falling off, the bridges on the back straight is covered in rust, and they need to get the pit lane back to the other side of the track.

One thing that will be a huge factor today is the high tire wear. The track is covered in marbles after the 30 min warmup. Also Rossi and Grosjean found each other in warmup and the radio lit up with French Karen complaining to the manager.

It’s a funny looking area cause BMO Field and the random hotel look really nice and new. The rest of it looks abandoned. Exhibition place only really serves a purpose from now until the end of September.
Glad to say I’ve been to the race once, but would never do it again. Way too hot and no shade.

We sat in the big grandstand across from the pits and the heat was nearly unbearable. There were not enough drink stands around either, the line ups were huge and they ran out of water quickly. Lots of beer though.
