Go Arnie!

How did the body-builder/actor guy turn out to be such a good leader. If you go back and watch "pumping iron", it's very hard to imagine that he'd be governor of California, or a good one at that. I so wish he were eligible for the presidency. These days we don't seem to even care if a candidate is eligible.
He's ineligible for presidency due to birth country but he's infinitely more qualified to be president over the current GOP selection(s).

Biden Aggravation Disorder

A couple startling, but not surprising, double standards highlighted:

Last month, National Review editor-in-chief Rich Lowry gave an interview in which he uttered the N-word. Lowry's defense is that he was trying to say "Haitian migrants" and trypped over his syllables. The charge by his critics, which I don't find persuasive, is that his utterance should be read uncharitably because he was defending a racist position to begin with.

Conservatives treated the response to Lowry as one of the greatest injustices of modern times. Lowry wrote an indignant defense, while National Review announced a "Rich Lowry Cancellation Tour" and kept up a series of posts raising money off their colleague's martyrdom.

The conservative position now seems to be that 56-year-old professional pundit Rich Lowry might mangle his words and say something he didn't exactly mean, but 81-year-old self-described gaffe machine Joe Biden would never.
Even faster about-face here:

Senator JD Vance of Ohio, Mr. Trump's running mate, said: "This is disgusting. Kamala Harris and her boss Joe Biden are attacking half of the country." Just one day earlier, Mr. Vance brushed off the Puerto Rico island-of-garbage comment, saying, "We have to stop getting so offended at every little thing in the United States of America."
Modern American conservatism is mental illness.

Modern American conservatism is mental illness.

It turns out she is, in fact, not Joe Biden. It's all performative. He's about to be a retiree, who cares?

For what it's worth, even if you give it the "no you're garbage" interpretation, which it shouldn't be given. And even if you attribute it to Kamala, which it shouldn't be. I'm not sure that it undoes the initial damage of the Puerto-Rico-is-trash reference anyway. I'm sure lots of Puerto Ricans were thinking the same thing. You know what? You call Puerto Rico garbage? You're garbage!

For what it's worth, Trump calls the US a garbage can.

Jimmy Kimmel does a segment just for republicans. If you find this and are thinking of voting Trump, check it out.

He closes with the sentiment that if Trump wins he will accept it because that's what America does. I wish I could join him in this. If Trump wins I will accept that he got more votes (electoral votes that is). I do not accept that he is eligible to run. He should have been barred from running under the constitution due to insurrection against the US. The fact that he hasn't been changes nothing other than that it invites the tragedy that if the US elects him they will have elected their own illegitimacy. There is no need to stand behind the results if he wins.

yea that was a really good bit that i also shared in the previous page, showing the difference between the left willing to compromise and the right unwilling, with an unopened mentality, always blaming rhetoric.

Kamala on Biden's remarks:

https://apnews.com/article/harris-biden-trump-election-garbage-supporters-3d2ea66e3027ddc4bc2b30c13bf7b554
Harris told reporters before boarding Air Force Two for her flight to Raleigh that she disagrees “with any criticism of people based on who they vote for.”

“I will represent all Americans, including those who don’t vote for me,” she said.

I think it's a good idea. Her campaign does want to make it clear that there are differences between her positions and Biden's, and so I think it's smart for her to turn this into an opportunity to explain again that they're not the same person and don't have the same position. I think she could make this point even more.

It is an opportunity to separate herself from Biden, which is something that some voters, especially the most persuadable voters, seem to care about.

It's really deplorable and damaging to society's sanity:

I really hate these sort of approach, bullies

50% of this country have no problems being bullies....
I don't get it... Vicious destructive circle

i am so tired of trump, his bullish bullying rhetoric and his dumb supporters.
See I personally think that is part of Trump's appeal to these idiots. Especially since that dumb Supreme Court decision that has basically said the President has unlimited powers. They think that if he gets back in they will have the green light to physically attack those people who do not hold their beliefs. LGTBQ, athiests, immigrants even legal ones, anyone fighting for civil rights, etc. They know he will either pardon them or even issue them direct orders to do as they wish in order to "clean up society".

A privately held view I've had and not shared until now is that some of the people Trump appeals to are assholes who are fed up of being told they're not allowed to be assholes, and they feel Trump gives them legitimacy to be assholes.

I respect your resolve to be reserved but this is patently clear. You've no shame in expressing something so clearly, yet sadly, obvious.

Saying out loud what they know deep down and/or have not been able to formulate, but trump is the perfect image and leader for them, a fellow bully asshole.

They have truly found their God, who will allow them to freely speak their mind, and legitimize being inconsiderate towards others.

That's why they are so envious of Russia or China or North Korea where ideology are uniform, and people are mainly of the same shade all across the borders, with no one desiring to invade or immigrate to.

Those people cant deal with diversity, they just want to establish "order" and control.

‘This is political ********’: Former Republican candidate charged with stealing Madison County election ballots

A former Republican candidate running for an Indiana seat in the U.S. House of Representatives has been arrested and charged with stealing several election ballots during a recent voting machine test.

Larry L. Savage Jr., a candidate in the Republican 5th District primary held earlier this year, was arrested Tuesday morning by Madison County authorities and charged with destroying/misplacing a ballot and theft. He has since been released on a $500 cash bond.

The charges filed against Savage, a 51-year-old Anderson resident and precinct committeeman, stem from an incident on Oct. 3 in which two election ballots went missing at the Madison County Government Center during testing of the local voting machines.

Court documents show county officials began testing voting machines at 10 a.m. on Oct. 3, an event open to the public. Several citizens attended the tests and were allowed to run “test” ballots through the machines assigned to their county.

Despite being marked “test,” the ballots were still officially tracked and counted by the State and included real candidate names as well as differing votes. After testing, officials found one straight-Republican ballot and one write-in ballot were missing.

A review of security footage, which was subsequently being live-streamed online, showed Savage handling the two missing ballots. He can also be heard confirming with an election official that these are “absolutely, totally real ballots.”

In the video Savage can be seen looking around the room before folding up two ballots and putting them in his sweatshirt pocket.

After this, Savage is seen leaning over to a woman in attendance and saying “****ed up count.” Less than 10 minutes later, Savage is seen leaving the building and showing a man the ballots in his pocket. The man then pats Savage on the back and Savage gets into his car and leaves.

The woman Savage spoke with after the ballots were stolen was also streaming the event on Facebook Live. Soon after Savage leaves, the woman can heard confronting election officials and asking them if they are missing ballots.

After leaving, Savage reportedly joined the woman’s Facebook Live on his “Cardkiller57” account and commented several things including “3 ballots short!!! lol” and “Dontvtake [sic] anything.” These comments can be seen below:

After it was determined that Savage was likely the person responsible for the missing ballots, police were granted a warrant to search his car and home. That same night, around 8 p.m. on Oct. 3, officers went to Savage’s Anderson home to execute the warrant.

Savage reportedly greeted officers at his front door and admitted to taking the ballots before they even finished reading the warrant.

“You talking about the ballot the lady told me I could take,” Savage said. “I got the paper you’re talking about. I just rolled it up and put it in my pocket. I wasn’t trying to steal from nobody.”

The ballots were then found in the back seat of Savage’s black 2018 Honda Civic.

Savage reportedly began blaming other Madison County officials for this becoming a criminal incident, telling officers that “this is all political ******** is all it is.”

When told that the security video did not show Savage ever asking permission to take the ballots, Savage reportedly admitted that he did not. He told officers that he thought he could take the ballots because they were marked “sample.”

“If you got to Payless, or go wherever, it says sample and you usually can take a sample,” Savage said. “So that is the way I took it. I thought they were fake ****ing ballots.”

However, officials noted that the ballots never said the words “fake” or “sample.”

Savage told FOX59/CBS4 that he did not mean to hurt anyone and was “just trying to fight for our country.”

“At no time did I have any malintent. At no time did I actually think that was a real ballot. I didn’t mean to hurt anybody. And if I did, I’m sorry. I’m just trying to fight for our county,” Savage said. “I didn’t do anything with any malintent at all. I love the people that I serve. I’m an elected official. I would never do anything to hurt anybody. I want to help people. That’s pretty much all I can say, but the truth is going to come out, and I am an innocent man.”

After consulting with the Madison County Prosecutor’s Office, two official charges were filed against Savage:

Destroying or Misplacing a Ballot – Level 6 Felony
Theft – Class A Misdemeanor

Indiana State Police said Tuesday that Savage turned himself in around 9:30 a.m. at the Madison County Jail after an arrest warrant was issued.

On Tuesday afternoon, Indiana State Police released a statement explaining Savage’s alleged crimes.
“The Voting System Technical Oversight Program (VSTOP) is designed to test all the election equipment used in Indiana for an added layer of safety and security. The test requires manual entry of a pre-audit group of ballots marked to record a predetermined number of valid votes for each candidate and on each public question. After the testing process, the ballots used are treated as if they were used on election day. Before the ballot card voting system can be used in an election, the machines are required to be tested openly to representatives of political parties, candidates, media, and the public.

During the test, which involved four voting machines and 136 actual candidate ballots marked for testing, officials discovered that two ballots were missing after an initial tabulation. A subsequent investigation revealed videos of Savage folding and placing both ballots in his pocket after receiving instructions about the validity of the test ballots. A judge granted a search warrant that law enforcement executed at Savage’s residence, where officers found the missing ballots in his vehicle.”
Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings described the act as a deliberate attempt to “undermine our election process.”

“This was an act that feeds into that concern that a lot of voters have about the integrity of our process,” Cummings said. “And it simply wasn’t necessary. This is corruption. This is corruption at its core. To undermine our election process is unacceptable. And our office needed to take action.”

An initial hearing in Savage’s case, filed in Madison Circuit Court 6, has not yet been scheduled as of 2 p.m. Tuesday.

As someone who lives in peak asshole country, this is absolutely true. All these people love socialism, too, since they have farms that get a ton of government subsidies and they're on food stamps, among other things, but they're assholes, and they want to be loud and proud about it.

I'm not sure how to say this without coming across assholeish myself, but a lot of it stems from mental disabilities too. I'm not talking about the kid who's autistic and has a hard time in social settings, but rather the people whose mothers drank, smoked, and did drugs while pregnant and doomed their children to a life where their brains never fully developed.

Sure it's clear, but it's also not the case that they haven't been allowed to be assholes nor that they haven't indeed been assholes. They're free to be assholes and those around them are free to call them out as such or even freely dissociate. It feels like the "permission" has been to get extra super indignant when those around them react to them being assholes.

Not sure if I said this or just thought it last time this came up, but that pricing seems much more like an edgelord associated with Lindell plotted a means to goad a reaction than an actual dogwhistle. It's just too obvious. Like..."mention offer code HITLER for a discount" obvious.

You're probably right. Last I heard, he was asked directly about it & his reaction was reportedly, "Whaaat?! Nazi linkage? That's crazy, I would never have guessed!"

However, it looks like it did hit its mark at that Trump boat rally.

Yep, that is indeed a Nazi flag just off screen.

I wonder how many guns and ammo purchases have been made this month, compared to when Trump first ran for president.

Yeah, that sounds pretty much like the MAGA cult. I also think there is some level of pride involved in it. These people have been losers for probably most of their adult life and suddenly Donald Trump comes along and say that here’s a cult you can join. We have bright red uniforms, hold big rallies and we will destroy the intellectual elite and reclaim the country for the losers.

I think most of his votes come from people belonging to either of these groups though:

1. People who have been scared by his propaganda and think that the country is being overrun by immigrants who will eat their pets.

2. People who don’t understand how the economy works and think that the economic recession since 2020 is because of Joe Biden rather than because of the pandemic.

3. Far-right Christian fanatics who haven’t read the bible, who think that Jesus only spoke about abortion and would gladly vote for the devil to enforce an abortion ban on their fellow Americans.

An area where Denis Leary's song is used as an instruction video, rather than as satire?

The minute, the very second you start to call these people garbage they act all offended and play the victim. Because they duplicitously hold you to standards of human decency which they have no interest in adhering to themselves.
