Why is it that moderators just because your a moderator on a website think that ya'll are so smart and know what's best for a country that you don't live in?
Just get over it Trump won
Sooo... no actual engagement then?

Incidentally, your earlier post said that being educated was bad. Now you're saying that thinking you're smart (while presumably not being smart) is bad. I can't work it out: is it bad to be smart or is it bad to be dumb?

If you would read things that you should instead of those that you would, you would have known long before the election how economy is predicted to get worse with all the changes the criminal has threatened to implement.
If you would have cared just a bit you would certianly recognize you will be off worse just within the first year of the new term than you ever have been before.

“Hey! I’m free to be as dumb as I want! That’s what real freedom means. Also, when things don’t go my way, it must be Obama’s fault or some secret liberal organization that’s making trump’s plan fail.” /s

So, in an attempt to find some silver linings, I think I've figured one out. Woody Johnson, the owner of the New York Jets, will likely be Trump's ambassador to the UK since that's what his post was before. Because of this, he won't be able to run the team, so his brother, Christopher Johnson (whose middle name is Wold  ), will run it. The last time Christopher ran the Jets, he ran them into the ground and hired terrible people, including this weirdo:

(that's Adam Gase)

Anyway, if Christopher takes over, he'll likely implode the Jets further. Since he'll be in charge of hiring the next coach and drafting the next round of players, he'll likely make the team even worse. The last time he was in charge, he skipped over Patrick Mahomes and Christian McCaffrey during the draft for a safety. So, I fully expect him to overlook generational talent again.

Anyway, that's not the silver lining. The silver lining is that because Trump won, Aaron Rodgers's career will be even more tarnished because he will be stuck with a really, really terrible football team and it will completely derail the Jets even more to becoming the LOL Jets.

So, while yes, America will burn with a Trump presidency, so will Aaron Rodgers, and that brings me at least the tiniest sliver of joy.
While that may bring you some joy I on the other will not be happy as a Jets fan 🤣. As far the election I wasn’t surprised with the outcome and I’m glad it’s over with.

My choice was the leaser of the two evils and I was tired of Obama trying to continue running our government. I'm tired of our country sending our money overseas . Biden have you seen him lately he doesn't even know where he is. I don't think Harris ever did! Gas prices are not that much of a concern to me as I don't drive much anymore. Food cost is a very big concern four years ago I could afford to eat. I have no problem with inflation but when the cost of something goes up a dime doesn't mean the stores have to raise it a half dollar. I tired of people whining about Trump winning fair (someone even had Biden say this even though he's too bonkers to know he even made a speach). So all you Harris lovers get over it. Right back at you do you really think that Harris would be a better choice and why.
Food costs are due to small businesses being driven out and being replaced by a small number of large corporate entities, who now are close enough achieving defacto monopolies, that price fixing is trivial. This was already in motion when covid sped it up about 10yrs. These companies have always been run by republicans. They donate heavily to republicans. These are your people. Now unfettered. Enjoy!

Tldr: your foods about to get more expensive, lower in quality (more age between harvest and consumption) and filled with many..many…more pathogens. Because handling and storage, is hard and expensive work.

For a little foreshadowing, please direct your attention to McDonald’s..who actually managed to contaminate onions with ecoli. Which, if you don’t know, is quite challenging as the onion has natural(antimicrobial) resistance. Like, dumb big! Big!

Anyway, I’ve accepted my fate and am looking at new toilet’s. Even considering bidets for the first time. Prudent measures and all.

Eta: gas prices.

Just because you don’t drive much doesn’t mean farm equipment, and the trucks to move product don’t. I look optimistically towards a day when farm equipment can be charged by a fan or panel. It will unshackle farmers if they could power their operations with wind/solar…increase sanitation. Make better storage feasible. Its a pure win.

Until then, please understand that increasing the price for something fundamental. A building block. Will lead to costs of each following stage increasing. A lot. This is bad.

Yeah definitely one of the worst parts of the next month or so is going to be all the same dumb people crawling out of the woodwork repeating their same dumb arguments thinking that Trump winning somehow makes them smarter or their arguments having any more merit.
To be fair this is a new poster to the thread, so it's a different person in this case.

Same dumb arguments, though.

OK, but do you think Trump is gonna make that better over Harris? Is it because of the economy during his first term? I know next to nothing about how economies work so am interested what persuaded you.

Would you want Harris running your country I don't want her running mine?

Last time Trump was in office, half a million Americans died from a pandemic he deliberately mismanaged. Oh, and remember Shapriegate, which could have caused a very dangerous situation in the exact region of the country that I live in?

I'd rather have someone wishy-washy and vague in the White House than someone whose actions were extremely often careless at best, selfish constantly, and outright deadly at worst. So yes, Harris 100%

Yes, yes I certainly would want Harris running my country. Trump has you brainwashed into thinking he cares about you, me and all of the other regular Americans. Well he doesn't. He cares about one person and one person only and that is himself. The fact that he is willing to let Musk basically tell him what to do like he's Musk's puppet should scare the hell out of you. That's not how we do things in America. Super billionaires shouldn't have access to the inner workings of government. They shouldn't be setting policy because guess who is going to benefit from that, they are.

Harris wanted to be the president for ALL Americans, Trump does not. In his first term he was constantly up at 3am tweeting away at how much he hates those people that didn't vote for him. That's only going to be worse now.

I can't believe that anyone in their right mind would choose Trump's personality over Harris's.

One commentator on the BBC said that Trump, despite being megarich and privileged his whole life, managed to successfully portray himself as an "Everyman" and that allows him to both connect with regular people, and to distance himself from the political elite. I think that's correct, but it is deeply worrying on two counts... 1. If that's what an 'everyman' in America really is, then the US is screwed. And 2. Trump seeks nothing more than to be the absolute political elite - an autocratic dictator who answers to no-one... especially the voting public. The fact that tens of millions of US voters can't see the obvious problem with that is mindblowing.

Trump's success relies upon convincing people to vote against their own interests, but that requires a level of dishonesty and disingenuousness that hasn't been seen before in US politics, but unfortunately Trump is made for that role. By fully embracing a culture of disinformation, lying, criminality, violence and downright thuggery, Trump has managed to convince tens of millions of people that he will make their lives 'great again'. The truth is likely to be far uglier than that.

Because most voters understand that personality isn’t a policy. Trump would never win if voters chose their president based on his or her tendency to post impulsive outbursts on social media.

Oh please, Harris was one of the worst candidates ever. No one trusted her with the economy, she never answered a single hard question thrown at her, refused to go on any interview that wasn't superfluous fluff. She just went off the fact she wasn't Trump, which wasn't nearly enough. There was absolutely no way she was going to win this.

Its a variation of:

you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.
Lyndon B. Johnson

Also @opelgt1969 i see you skipped my previous post on foot prices. If anythings confusing there just let me know. Im happy to explain.
