Yeah. That sure worked out well for you guys.
Lack of faith in institutes is big part of our situation. They stop working when people don't believe in them. People didn't believe in elections, didn't come at stations, mobilization of public workers became enough to prolong current regime.

By acting like one man could break 230+ years of democracy you performing biggest act of pathetic defeatism. You just ate too much Dems propaganda. Trump is lying orange showman, not evil genius.

Brother, musk is going to be running the show. The funding for public programs is already not enough, now with that asshole cutting everything, that I’m sure will include education, people will be even dumber than they are. Dumb people also breed more dumbkins, since god told them so. Fox News is number 1 “news” source around these parts. Supreme Court is stacked. Now senate is going red too. What kind of outs do we have here? It may not happen day one, maybe not even year one or two, but the trajectory is pretty clear.

Another thing. These ****s and apparently the majority of the country don’t care much about climate change, even though Florida’s getting ripped a new one by Mother Nature. I just hope the world lasts another 50 or so years. After that, hope all these ****s and their offsprings enjoy being slaves for musk on mars or wherever the **** he wants to go.

I elect to stay skeptical. Not all of the states have finished counting, and blue shift is a thing. We don't have the full picture yet.
I would like to believe that but as someone who lives in Wisconsin and seeing how scary the counties were in leaning Trump outside of Milwuakee and Madison and with Trump up 4% with 87% of the vote counted, its not looking good.

I'm going to bed and will probably be waking up to re-evaluating moving back to the UK.... I have dual citizenship, though isn't the UK a **** show these days as well?

I feel sorry for all the educated Americans in and outside this forum, unfortunately you've been outnumbered once again. Also a shame for the rest of us that will have to endure this clown from afar for another 4 years.
The US is not on a trajectory to match the move Idiocracy quite quickly. The dumbing of this nation is unreal..

Following this thread for a couple weeks now, I have a feeling a lot of members in here will need some rear end pain relief cream.

Enjoy.
And you had such faith in the strength of your position you only chose to speak up now?

Many of those who voted for Trump may soon find out that the dildo of truth never arrives lubed, unfortunately, the rest of the world will get to feel that as well.

This is why democrats lost, again. Because all they do is demonise people with a different viewpoint, which actually turns them away from the left.
I'm not sure what crack you are on considering the Trump campaign demonize everyone that doesn't agree with Trump. You either agree with him or he just name calls, threatens, bullies and essentially calls people monsters. How is that for demonization.

Sure democrats call out bad traits in the opposition but it pales compared to Trump.

By that logic, do you believe that the GOP has openly embraced people with a different viewpoint?

Johnathan Pie said it best in 2016

I think Democrats actually probably lost because Harris was unable to separate herself from Biden (59% unapproval rating) with regards to issues that Democrats presided over.

The fact that she, specifically, seems to have underperformed substantially versus down-ballot elections and referenda that sometimes even mirrored her policy proposals makes me think this was a tall order for any Democrat to win over any Republican, nevermind one cast into the role 6 months after the norm because of Biden's ego.

Trump is polling 30% in the Bronx, which hasn't happened since Reagan and means it's not just white males voting for him. If the Denocrats are underperforming in "safe" areas like that, that suggests to me they're out of touch with voters?
In the end, it's not just about Trump winning this (god help us all!), Harris is losing this race quite spectacularly.

And yes, that's because she is too closely tied with Biden.

I would also add that almost no country in the Western world has had an election post Covid where the incumbent has won. No one seems to have taken that into account - I'm not as surprised by the result as others here, for that very reason. The whole world is going through upheaval.

Oh, and if you know anyone in Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia, they might want to start packing, as NATO is screwed. Ukraine is screwed too - I don't see how the Uk and EU keep Ukraine going on their own.

Yeah. While the swing states seem to be all slightly breaking Trump and he might take all of them except Minnesota but are largely as close as expected, New York swung ten points right. New Jersey was similar.

That's not people complaining about pronouns or the meaningless noise about Palestine. That's Democrats completely misreading the election entirely, be it because of being too heavily tied to Biden (which Harris was handcuffed to) or simply misfiring on how they were focusing on the issue.

Since now it's looking more and more like a Trump victory, the issue likely lies with Biden. If Biden has just stepped aside and not sought reelection we probably would be in a different position. Harris didn't have time nor ability to convince enough people she was different. Had their been an open primary, she probably could have.

I know people will be saying she should've taken Josh Shapiro for her VP pick but I think that would've lost Harris the young vote, especially on college campuses. It would be a hard sell if you had a Zionist as your VP while Israel is committing genocide. Shapiro was also very openly anti-free speech.

Also, I still don't believe America is ready for a female president. To many old people vote and they grew up in a generation where women didn't hold power, they stayed home and took care of kids. They trust a man, especially a white man, to do the job better.

Right now I can only hope it won't be as bad as many think it will be. I know that's optimistic, but what else can you do?
