Didn't really catch who that was from Gradient Racing on the broadcast just now, but he mentionned that Tatiana Calderon was their secret weapon for the end of the race...

Right, I really need to see some of that minimum weight, maximum power, great driver line up energy from the Bimmers now..
Well, GTP leaders are coming into the pits, and KMag still has 60%+ energy left. I'm guessing the strategy is to go for an undercut, burn up all the energy in an effort to make up time, and then pit not too long afterwards to get back into rotation with the rest of the GTP cars.

GTP Telemetry shows the #93 Acura moving at an absolute blistering...10 MPH.

Is the team just moving the car around, or is it about to rejoin the race I wonder?

Edit: Yup, the #93 is getting ready to go back on track.

Edit 2: Aaaaand it just got a drive-through penalty.

The performance of the 91 Corvette has been a bit underwhelming so far considering the star power behind the wheel. Running 10th 50 seconds off the class lead.

Just saw this pop up on timing and scoring: Car #12 (Vasser Sullivan Lexus in GTD) Mechanical black flag for missing rear glass.

I'd like to see Hand do well for them, always liked him.
I always think of him as an ex-Porsche driver, then realise I'm thinking of Patrick Long. North American drivers being picked up by European works teams in the early 00s was not something quite as common as it is today.

They took a penalty early on for a pitlane infringement, which didn't help them at all.

#44 stopped trackside, probably another FCY

Shame for Magnus Racing, given that Daytona is their only planned appearance this season.

On the flipside, this FCY came at a great time for the #24 BMW.

"The audience is optional"
TBH, I don't blame them. By Florida standards, it's cold as 🤬 right now. Those people sitting in those metal(?) seats as the temperature drops are the real MVPs.

Only way I'd still be out there is A) if I had the money to have an RV in the infield, or B) if I'm one of the photographers out there working.

#24 BMW GTP into the pits.

If I had a nickel for every Aston Martin stopped at the outside of T1, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice.

Wreck involving several fan-favorite cars, including the #40 WTR Cadillac, The #9 Pfaff Lamborghini, and Rexy. :(

Edit: Looks like the #40 Cadillac had some wicked snap-oversteer out of Turn 1.
