Really? You doubt they could last even 10 laps? Dude, how many times have you seen the Audi or Peugeot take on tyres in the last few stops? Its been like once every 3-4 stops...

I just catch up about an hour ago,so IDK,however I remember some bits of 2010's race and they did change almost every 8-9 laps.

Sure about that? I've been listening to the RLM podcasts from last years race and as far as I can recall most of the stops for the prototypes were fuel only with only a full service when they changed the driver after a triple/quadruple stint.

Well, not sure actually, but they change tyres as they entered into pits, maybe to change compounds,or I could be wrong, not sure now.

Edit:

Watching the recap I now realized that GT5 was kind of spot on in the night racing bit.

Just admit you dont know...Peugeot no.8 took on new tyres at its pit stop a few minutes ago, I can bet you it wont take on new tyres for atleast 3 pit stops.

Hey guys, I've missed the last 12 hours or so. :( Could someone give me a short fill in of the big things that have happened ? Cheers! :)

You heard about the #1 R18 crash? Yeah, that's happened. Otherwise...not much else.

Either not remember or don't know, still what are those tyres made of?

Don't know, just off your reaction to me saying they'll go 4 stints of 4x12 laps kinda says it all.

Made of pretty robust but grippy rubber compounds with something like kevlar in the carcass.

The Pugs are not pushing as hard to get that extra lap, losing time. Meanwhile, the Audi is pulling away and their pit stop takes less time since less fuel is needed. It's the same strategy they were following at the start of the race and it ended up with the Audi getting ahead by 2 minutes.

On a side note, I'm looking at the radar and rain might be coming before the end of the race. Doesn't look heavy, though.

The Pugs tried to match the pace, but they couldn't. So now they're playing the tortouse game

That explains it.

Well,I think that is time to go to bed,I just want to wake up and saw the end, just catching on the recap and maybe it will get a bit interesting in 2 or 3 hours.

I spoke too soon,#7 just cashed, and Wurz looks quite old,I've missed a lot of stuff,a lot.

Those speedTV commentators seem almost as bad as the jackass on eurosport who said Audi should retire the #2 car from the race because the other 2 have crashed out....

Is not looking good for Signatech, they are still 4 laps behind, not a big gap but is considerable(BTW they changed driver when no one was looking)
