Did you use a street car or a race car in your 24 hour race(s)?

How can you people do this race in A-Spec mode once, let alone numerous times just for fun?! How long do you leave your PS2's on for in total in order to complete one 24 hour race? I would think days. This can't be good for the PS2, you are wearing out your console unnecessarily. I think it's ludicrous that you can't save during those long races. Something needs to be done about this for GT5.

I did them in 3-hour splits, 3 hours playing, 3 hours not. It took me about 4 days because I didn't play on one day. And I slept from about 12 midnight to about 10 AM every day.

I once saw in another thread that one guy was trying to get his 240 GLT Estate to 1,000,000 Km by letting it run around the test course in B-spec. He left it on for 2 months, but then the power went out.

That might seem funny to some of you guys but come on that's just MAD and POINTLESS. Running a car for 1,000,000 km just for the sake of it! No wonder the ps2 gave up the ghost.:dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

The PS2 didn't die by itself, the power went out.

Anyways, I hope I don't get warned for bringing up my own dead thread, but I did finish another race in A-spec. The Sarthe I 24h in a Pescy C60 Judd. I'm also going to do the streamlined list that I proposed and hope to give this topic some new life.

I'd love to see photos of your Diary screen confirming those.

I'm going to have to second that Famine. Der Meister I will need all the stats for those cars icluding their PTW Ratio and possibly pictures of your diary. Please PM those to me so we don't take up unnesessary space here.

The only ones I think could be legit are the Sarthe I race with the R32, if it is tuned to 800bhp and has massive tuning in the gears and suspension, and the Sarthe II race with the NSX with extremely massive tuning. Nevertheless, I will need proof for this. It's just a little farfetched.

I've done all 24 hour races in A-spec. Sarthe 1 I had to do twice because I accidentally got into B-spec during a pit stop and negated my 200 points. Anyway, I usually have to leave my PS2 on for over a week, trying to get two or three hours racing a day whenever possible. It doesn't seem to do anything bad to my two year old console. It doesn't seem to get all that hot.

I don't find it fun at all to race 24 hours in A-spec. In fact, it's a downright waste of time. Even for 200 points my race vehicle lapped the second place car a few times. I hate that it ties up my GT4 game so I can't even do short races in between for over a week. Those guys that enjoy endurances are probably insomniacs and have lots of spare time to kill.

Yes it is ludicrous that you can't save during ANY race. The longest race I enjoyed was the nine hour Tsukuba for 200 points. I sort of liked the 1000 mile Euro race, since each race lasted a few hours and I hadn't really driven tiddlers for that amount of time, so it was a novelty. It might have been more competitive but I only went for 150 points since I didn't want to waste time trying to find the best car to use against multiple lineups, etc.

I hope that GT5 doesn't have 24 hour races. Twelve hours is about the most I'd ever want to do. And they'd better put in a Save During Race Option.

I'm just after road cars for enduros. If I know it's possible in those I might be able to go slower...

He didn't say he won the races, did he?. He just raced those cars.:) :sly:

This guy is on the money ;)

As far as i saw when reading about this, it never said to post if you WON THE RACE. (or maybe im just dumb and missed it 💡 )

Never the less, the only car that won anything was the Nurburgring car, it's not really that hard, cause the best competition i had was only a BMW GTR Touring car (or the equivelent, whatever its called) - and it's really slow :yuck: - i think i lapped everyone except him, and only beat him by about 2 minutes, pretty close over 24hrs

I'll have to search my cards for the data, i dont have a digital camera, but i do have a camera on my phone, it maybe take a while to get pics because i run WIN98/9X...and i can't directly upload pics to the PC via USB... maybe by next Monday if i can find the data (cause i have 13 memory cards all with GT4 hehe) i should be able to get some pics for you :)

Fiat 500 and at the Sarthe I, I used a Toyota Tacoma and for II, I used a Ford F150 Lightning.

Ok Der Meister, that's ok if you can get the pics via picture phone.

And no, I'm pretty sure DLR is just kidding

It does say you have to win too...

It does now, before it only said 'completed', therefore (at the time) my inclusions were plausable. Haha, oh well, back to the drawing board :P

I have to admit, they were at the time, but that was a little bit of carelessness on my part by not clearly saying that you have to win. I'll add our newest member, Liamz, right now. Welcome! :)

i have A-speced the:

Nurb in a stock AMG Mercedes 190 E 2.5 16 Evo II Touring Car '92 (8 pts)
Le Sarthe I in a stock Toyota 88C-V Race Car (Minolta) '89 (5 pts)
Le Sarthe II in a stock AMG Mercedes CLK-GTR Race Car '98 (141 pts)

please add me to the list, thanks!

24hr Nurb A-Spec, ASL ARTA Garaiya (JGTC) '03, 66 A-Spec pts, 2nd place = +1 lap.

*goes off to rest thumbs.

BlackSheep, you need to come in 1st Place to get on the 1st Place List. I'm making a new Finishers List now, so that's where you'll be :)

Congrats to our new members on making it all the way!

Now that's what I'm talking about! Excellent job, CRXnut, you're getting rep from me on that write up. :)👍!

I think what BlackSheep means is that he won, for 66 A-spec points, (otherwise he'd have got none!) and that 2nd placed car was a lap behind him. Or at least that's the way it looks to me. :dopey:

You know, you're right :dunce:

Sorry BlackSheep, I'll get you up there pronto!
