Could somone tell me how the cars handle online? I'm assuming they're rather understeery since you can't change the set up, I'm assuming they have neutral camber?

Hmm... didn't realize you've never raced online before. Should be interesting to get your reaction, given that you are very experienced offline. Personally, I find it very disorienting, with the AI cars ghosting, weird tire marks & smoke, but I guess you get used to it with time, because some drivers are extremely fast online. To me the cars definitely feel more skittish & prone to spinning out, so I try & take it easier than I do offline.

Well the ethernet cable arrived today so i've been playing online for a bit, won 2 races out of 3 started from the start. I'd like to better understand a few things though; why is it that if you're out infront sometimes you seem to get a tow from nothing and pull away from everyone else? It seems to act at random as if you're slipstreaming a car when there's no one infront of you.

Also what is with the lap records, the Monza one is something like 39 seconds?! Is it easy to cheat or something?

Anyway, I'll definitely be participating on sunday night for Jordan Racing.

Pay no mind to online lap time records, its not cheating its a scoring gliche in game. As far as pulling away if your only playing the AI cars online you should be able to pull away easily. They are notoriously slow at some tracks,BUT very fast at others. Set the AI level to hard for a better run.

Sounds like when a lag spike hits. Its usually because someone has joined or quit the game or if the game host has left and its switched hosts. It shouldn't happen too much in our races.

The slipstream normally happens at Monza and Nurburgring when you are alone and no one is front, it's a bug.

Also sometimes the human players don't bother racing and leave their car on the starting grid. This will also give you the invisible slipstream, once you have done half a lap or more 👍

Ahh right that makes sense as those were the two tracks where I seemed to be slipstreaming away from everyone. Hopefully all this stuff shouldn't be too much of a problem in the races we're having since it's much better organised.

I'm gonna try and recruit 2 more people for the PAL region before sunday 👍

btw Ardius my PSN ID is Shaggy_Alonso

We running Bahrain on Sunday? What time for NTSC?

I believe the first official race was to be scheduled on Dec. 21st, which is indeed this Sunday. I'm not sure about the time though. I know that in the past, we had scheduled the races @ 9:00 PM Eastern. That would be fine by me, though I am available earlier in the day as well. I'm sure the race organizers will be sending us all the info shortly. I'm gonna go practice right now!:sly:

Game still hasn't arrived yet, if it doesn't come in today's post, I won't be in tomorrow's race. Although we might get a Sunday post as it's Christmas. Was sent on Monday, so hopeful of it coming today.

Postman been and gone, no game, no post tomorrow. So I won't be available tomorrow night, afaik.

Righto, thanks for letting us know :)👍

Indeed, I always update the first post with details of the next race and any driver changes and I will also be updating the points tables regularly (I just haven't recently because there's little point until we've had some race results).

So who's all attending the PAL race tonight? I sure hope my teammate Appie is.

One thing I want to say in advance of this, is that I want to see some fair racing. I wont be very happy if I get punted off the road when I'm actively trying to avoid a collision. Remember the one block rule and if an accident does happen that is someones fault they should always wait for the affected driver to pass.

Btw, what time do we meet in the lobby from? About 9:45? Does the race start at 10?

Can I suggest we DO actively use the no passing for the first corner complex rule (first/second/third turns). In the couple of races yesterday, we had collisions in the first race but a good, clean start in the second because everyone consciously held back. I think it's just too difficult to avoid contact in that first corner if everyone's pushing hard...

That is a GREAT ideal. I for 1 pledge NO OVERTAKING till after T 3 .

I'll be attending tonight definitly and yes the PAL race does start at 10pm, so I think we should all have entered in by 9:55 just to make sure. Also, will it be me to host the race again? I would be glad to, if that's the case.

Also, the no passing until T3 is a good rule, however, the person in front could use it to his advantage as they could slow down on the corners, making everyone else go round and then they would get much better acceleration away from the corner and get a better start.

I think the T3 rule is a good one if there's lots of people competing, but in the PAL race I doubt there will be more than 5 people showing up.

Believe me: even 5 drivers can cause an almighty pile-up! :ouch:

In my experience so far, everyone is making enough errors during the course of the race to allow the front runner to get pulled in. I think the key at T1-3 is to have a relaxed, orderly progression with everyone making very sure they get through the corner without any contact. Cars getting damaged or re-spawned at the first turn effectively ruins the race for everyone.

Yeah I know how frustrating that can be, but none of the PAL races so far have had many incidents, if any at all. All that needs to be done is not to try and outbrake the person in front of you if there is a minimal amount of room. Sometimes it can work, but other times it may go wrong, which would lead to some aggrovation.

Woah, almost forgot about this, I won't be attending the PAL race sadly, I'll get the PMs out swiftly....

As for the "no overtaking till T3" rule, perhaps the NTSC lads can test this out? I'm not so sure its needed in the PAL race just yet as I believe we've had no problems so far?

NTSC GUYS

Look at map,see T-3, THERE WILL BE NO PASSING UNTIL THIS POINT !!!!!

UNLESS SOMEBODY SLIPS OFF TRACK WIDE ENOUGH,OR CRASHES BY THEMSELF AS NOT TO CAUSE ANY INFRACTIONS TO OTHER DRIVERS
