We'll(i.e. NTSC drivers) do it again tomorrow night if you like. :)

I'd be interested as well. I need to practice the pit lane as it seems more heavily cambered than when coming on to the main straight. Gave some of you a good laugh last night putting it into the wall. :dunce:

@ Z welcome! I had blast too, will probably play with you guys soon again! :D Randy

To the best of my knowledge,Brindle(Mastercivil) is out. Duck still needs a new team mate right?

how about the guy ranhammerR34 that is in this forum ? looks as if he has practiced with some of you guys ?

Well, it must be an epidemic :grumpy: my PS3 just died  just when I was going to do some practice too :banghead: and if any of y'all are wondering, it's is one of the 40G and it's about 15 months old.

Are you serious ? that blows 👎

How many more PS3's are going to puke out ? :nervous::ouch::yuck::crazy:

I am seriously considering going out to buy a new one , and keep this other one for a back-up. Does anyone here know anything about the new 160gb versions ?

So sorry for going off topic here guys , as I am going to post this in the PS3 forum as well.

Worrying, same as mine.
Me three.:nervous: And I got this system back in November.[/tangent]

Going back to the topic at hand, I'll try to get on after 8:30 pm EST tonight and set the room up. I'll PM the room related info on PSN to all the NTSC drivers when it's ready. :) We'll do a couple of 12 lap warmup races with all the GTP F1 Rules settings in use - pitting included - then a 20 lap race or two after about a 10 to 15 minute break.

BTW, what did you think of the password I used the last time we practiced?
FYI, it was 'GotMUMM'. IIRC, the winners didn't drink any milk after the race, though they should have.;)
:D

Just tried cleaning the Blue Ray and it didn't work :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy: but if any of y'all have the same problem here are a couple of videos to help you through the cleaning. Not an easy task but well worth the trouble to save you some $$$ if it works. I wouldn't do it if yours has a warranty, mine ran out 3 months ago

Looks like I'm going to have to get a new one :ouch::ouch::ouch:

WOW, Yall got me worried. Just out of courosity how did the air vents look on your PS3,did you ever vacum them clean b4 this happened? Did either of you ever run a lens cleaner through it?

vacuumed it regularly, lens cleaner did not work :grumpy:

Ardius , if this keeps up the plug will get pulled , you'll have no drivers to compete :nervous:

Unbelievable, we're dropping like flies! :scared:

I got my 40G PS3 a little over a year ago myself. This definitely has me worried too. Any word online, why so many PS3s are biting the bullet? Does Sony have any idea why this is happening to so many people? Have they made any revisions to newer systems, so it doesn't happen to one I might have to buy this year? Absolutely rediculous!

I'll be severely pissed off, if I have to buy another PS3, by the time GT5 FINALLY comes out. My original freakin' PS2 is STILL working, albeit not as well as new. I bought it as the GT3 package deal 7+ years ago, and I still play GT4 on it occationally (for the 'ring of course). If these PS3's keep crapping out, I wonder if there will be grounds for a class action lawsuit.:mischievous::mad:

EDIT: After doing a little snooping/surfing online, on the subject, I found that many people have contacted Sony, and have had there problems resolved, with varying degrees of difficulty. Even if your PS3 is out of warranty, Sony has taken many back and repaired them, some even for free. Other have had to pay $150, which is bogus, but better than buying a new one. I've read that Sony's customer support response is unique for each case, but generally helpful. However, I wonder how willing they will be to help you out, during these tough economic times. I certainly hope I don't have to find out. Best of luck to all who's PS3 has already died.

Double EDIT: Just curious, does everybody in here have their PS3 plugged into a surge protector? You know, the same kind that you (are supposed to) plug your Desktop PC into? I had an extra older APC surge protector (no backup power though) that I've had my PS3 plugged into, since day 1. IMO, plugging your PS3 directly into the wall socket is like playing russian roulette.

Just got a new 160G and I'm in the process of setting it up. Just for your info I got it at Walmart, They have a 2 year extended warranty for $30! (it's a Walmart warranty with no $ out of your pocket for repairs) You bet your sweet 🤬 I got it too!

And what does the 160GB model have that the 40Gigger hasn't?

Maybe some of what the original 60GB model had?:D

Yes I had mine plugged into the same surge protector that I have my PC on. I was playing a down loaded game (Super Stardust HD) and when I exited that game the system locked up because it couldn't read what was in the drive. After restarting the system it still would not read it but it would do downloaded games. Tried 2 or 3 games and it didn't read any of them.

Going to miss practice this evening.. other things to tend to. Hopefully I'll get some seat time tomorrow afternoon.

I'll be doing this again on Sunday night after 7 pm EST as a final warmup for the race. The info you have received in your PSN Inboxes will be the same as before. :)
