Well I just discovered today that I'm meant to be working easter sunday 2:30-11 which means I'll almost certainly be missing the Chinese GP. I work for the NHS Blood and Transplant helpline and it's double-time on easter sunday, and I'm working the late shift, so I wouldn't be suprised if I barely have to take a single call all day, so it's basically money for nothing so I'm not gonna bother to try and get it changed just for the race. This should spice up the title battle a bit!

Okie dokie, thanks for letting us know. 👍

I'll post this again, anyone want to fill in on team Shaguar at Monza? My PS3 is sitting in a moving truck until Monday.

ATTN: NTSC Drivers

I'll be opening up the practice room tonight at about 9:15 pm EDT in the Parabolica lobby.

Password is gt5p

Hey NTSC drivers R130 room, GTP monza practice password: Vettel... See ya there! Any takers?

Whats QUACKALACKIN QUACK QUACK

Well, did some practice earlier and noticed that Kakundoo has closed the gap on me pace wise for tomorrow night's race. Even If I do manage to grab pole, I fear that he will be able to sit in my slipstream and that I won't have enough extra pace to compensate. Should be a close race :nervous:

Since I'm missing Shanghai, I did some early Suzuka practice and had a race against a pretty fast driver. He beat me to pole by ONE THOUSANDTH of a second lol! First time i've ever come accross that. Oddly I beat him by about 40 secs, I suspect he had several trips through the surrounding scenery.

What's funny is I haven't done any Monza practice since Monday, if I had put more effort in, it would have been an amazing race but at the moment I still think that you are quick enough to beat me by a comfortable amount.
It's a shame we can't race in Shanghai, however, it does give me a chance to collect some good points, so the Championship will really come down to the last race :D
Didn't you also say that you could be missing Interlagos as well?

A part of me would like that as I know that Shaggy will gain a lot in Suzuka because I am terrible there. However, there is also the part of me that would like to beat him out on the track for the Championship.
So I'm kind of neutral with my feelings lol.
Whatever happens, I will still try my best to go for the Championship :D

Just ran a 20-lap session on-line, did a best of a 1'29.314. Couldn't consistently get that, but then it's practice, so I get bored eas...oh look a pig in a tutu.

What times you lot getting? [/sherlock]

I'm afraid not, I shall be at the title showdown! My work pattern is flexi-time so some days I might start at 7 in the morning and other days I might finish at 11 in the evening, unfortunately I got one of those graveyard shifts on sunday 12th.

Yeah, you should be aiming to collect a nice points haul next sunday. It's fortunate in a way that the race I'm missing is Shanghai because it's probably my worst track. I tried a few laps round there online and I definitely sucked, just can't find the right route round it with the wheel. If I had been competing I may even have switched back to the sixaxis with auto gears. Suzuka is my favourite track in the game though, and the wheel has improved my pace there by about 4 tenths I reckon, so I'm glad I won't miss that. Still, I'm pretty sure it'll all come down to Interlagos. Also, I think sporadic Gyles appearances may have an impact on the outcome.

Well im consistently in high 27's low28's with a few 26's thrown in. Should be a good race. Fastest lap in qualifications has been 1.27.112 , i might even actually qualify this week, haven't decided yet but definitely leaning that way. Im gonna have to start up front if im gonna make a run at the Championship. Should be interesting. QUACK QUACK

How diplomatic of you, I think thats a response of McLaren standards, lol.

Please don't ever compare any of my responses to McLaren again please, otherwise I may have to enforce some harsh consequences :P lol.

In that case Shaggy, I am really going to have to pick up a massive points haul in Shanghai (hopes Gyles won't be there to steal the win). Especially as I hate Suzuka and definitly won't beat you there and if Gyles is there then I will be lucky to get third :(, which means if Gyles shows up in Monza on Sunday, everything goes my way in Shanghai and I come 4th in Suzuka then I think the Championship will be yours. For me to win now I am going to need some exellent racing, which is both fast and consistent.
It's going to be exiting.

R130 GTP Monza Practice password: Vettel... "Practice, who said anything about practice?" Yeah, in other words: You practice... now. :D  Randy

Not sure if I can make it today, but if I do then I will be using the pad as I have my Xbox wheel mounted in at the moment. I haven't used the pad on F1CE for nearly a year now, so expect me to qualify last and finish last :nervous:

Oh and I expect to get lapped as well. :yuck:

Here, we see another example of Fishfash' modesty. We all know that even when you're not at your best because of some controller issue, you will still be front to mid pack lol.

Please can everyone take it easy into turn 1. You'll definitely need to brake earlier than normal on cold tyres. Infact, that's one thing I've found difficult in practice, getting heat into the front tyres, particularly the right-front. If I mess up my first qualy lap before Parabolica, I'm definitely going to put it down to first gear and load those front tyres to get some heat into them.

If anybody wants to play in the rain I have a practice set up in R130, PW - gt5p

Yes, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take it easy into turn one. I have done quite a bit of practice in Monza and going into turn one (If you're not the leader), you are nearly completely blind. Unless you are careful, the chance of hitting someone else is very high, especially because of the draft you will be getting from the cars in front!
So..In conclusion, turn one is not the be all and end all, so you don't need to power down into turn one, causing a massive crash and ruining people's races.
I think I can speak for Shaggy as well as myself that these last few races are very important for us because the Championship is so so close and every point will count in the end. I know this Championship is for fun but sometimes good, competitive racing is much more fun and hopefully tonight I can have a nice, clean race with Shaggy (With hopes of coming out on top :P lol)
I'm not trying to get at anyone, I'm just trying to stress that in the rain it will be very hard not to hit anyone, so extra extra caution will be needed and I really hope that I don't hit anyone either...:nervous:

PM's sent, good luck to all. Hope T1 sorts itself out but if anyone is involved in a crash there, don't be too shocked.

This is not a case of being careful and slow in the corner....its also a case of being fast as well.....being too slow is also as dangerous as being too fast, a slow driver in the middle of the corner which is effectively blind will be difficult to see and braking early will be difficult to notice because these cars don't have brake lights.
Actually, its recommended the entire grid practice together before the race and I might make it mandatory just to have a smoother start.

Its only a recommendation for the moment, it requires people to organise themselves. That or starting the race later after a short practice session, depending on all drivers agreeing (as I understand some don't have all the time in the world).

A few of us usually try and get as much practice before the race as possible, usually me, Shaggy, King, LewyOs and sometimes Sureboss as well. I will be online soon and I hope to see some other people there as well, so we can get some good turn one practice in.

I won't have time before the race. However, I have done wet races at Monza, so I'm confident with the car and me.

1. Shaggy Alonso
2. Kakundoo
3. King
4. Gyles
5. LewyOs
6. Sureshot
7. Magburner

Fastest Lap: Shaggy Alonso

Not sure of the order after that :S lol

That was an amazing race!
I got a really bad start, I wasn't quick enough in switching to gear 1 and so I was overtaken by LewyOs and someone else, I think it was Sureshot. Anyway, I managed to get passed that person during that lap and then I got passed LewyOs as well, which left me to chase down Shaggy. I caught up with him and for about 5 laps the lead kept switching because of the slip streaming down the straights, I must compliment Shaggy on his safe driving and apologise for that little shunt I gave him in the second chicane which caused him to go off on to the grass. Although those two knocks you gave me on turn 1 on consecutive laps weren't nice either :P lol.
Shaggy started to pull away and I wanted to stay on his stategy to try and get in his slip stream but this didn't work out, I dived into the pits when he did but it spawned me as I came in, costing me 3-5 seconds. After that Shaggy just kept pulling away and luckily there were no collisions with the backmarkers. It was a clean race for me but the faster man won.
Congrats Shaggy! :D

I qualified 10th which i expected. Then got throught T1 with no crash and by the end of the first lap i was 3rd. I had gyles right behind me up until the first pit stops. After that i pulled away from him and just kept my lap times around late 1,28. That was enough 2 get 3rd which i am happy with.

Aye, had a cracking start, up to 3rd, then promptly outbraked myself in someone's slipstream in the second chicane, fell to the back of the grid. I think I had the pace to beat LewyOs, but I made a couple of mistakes in the first half and more in the 2nd half.

Once again Kak, you forgot to put the AI on Easy and with all the spray I missed several braking points and it cost me at least 10s over the course of the race, maybe even more given a couple of penalties from overshooting apexes on chicanes.

Rest of grid was

4. Gyles
5. LewyOs
6. Sureshot
7. Magburner

Sorry Sure, I thought the AI was meant to be on medium...if people are getting annoyed at this, then maybe it should be made more clear what the settings are to be before I host the race.
